That was the highlight of my week: Friends visiting! And we are another week closer to Christmas and the end of the year. Strange that that feels like a new beginning as far as Corona is concerned. That you think, yes now we are going in the right direction again, while I think it will take until summer at least. In itself it was a good week with a dip on the Sunday morning.
Busy with doing nothing really
- Such a cute fun box!
- Lovely cuttings
- of house plants!
Nothing special happened during the week. But the highlight was that friends came over on Saturday night! It has been so long ago since that happened and we enjoyed it very much! Further it was just the usual, working out, blogging, cleaning. I got the blood test result and those were good, had to have my kidney function checked.
I am busy cleaning up tons of photos on my laptop before buying another one. Otherwise I have all that space on the new laptop for photos I don’t use anymore. Well what a job that is! You just don’t realize how many photos you collect over time. I was also busy with collaborations. Like this one with Plant REBELZ. Ever heard of it? It is a site where you can buy cuttings of house plants! I was allowed to choose something and chose the box. And Gerben immediately put them in pots. Nice, so you can see them really grow into a beautiful houseplant. Also a nice idea to give as a present.
When friends visiting!
- The start of the weekend on Friday night. Coffee, Amaretto and After Eight.
- Earrings of clay, very light!
- Our friends brought these gorgeous Amaryllis!
And on Saturday evening we had friends visiting! Yes, for the first time since Corona we had friends over to visit inside our house. We did have friends and family over in summer in our garden. But it has been a few months now since we saw our friends. And the four of us could of course keep enough distance and we have each given our own fork for the snacks and bites and salads. Well it was so wonderful to catch up again. Really very relaxing. The highlight of my week!
And then Sunday morning! I woke up, went to the bathroom and what am I seeing? My whole face and neck covered with a rash! I had never had it this bad! I could cry! But I didn’t because today I have to see a dermatologist and I assume that she will find out where it comes from and that something can be done about it. Anyway, it didn’t make me very happy, also because it itches so terribly. You are constantly picking in your face.
We did go out for a while, to the national park. But we only walked for half an hour because the battery of the wheelchair was empty. And it was also very cold. On the way back we saw that the car’s thermostat was not working and a lamp was broken. And we had recorded the Grand Prix, and when we wanted to watch it in the evening, it turned out that it was not completely recorded due to the one-hour drop-out and so we couldn’t see the finish. All in all not such a good day!
- I wore my leopard print pleated skirt with the military jacket.
- My culotte with a cardigan
- And my black pleated skirt with a blouse and camisole with gold thread over it.
Do you all want to keep your fingers crossed that the hassle with the rash will be resolved? Keeping you informed! Have a great week!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
Oh, no, the rash is back? I hope they find out what’s causing it, Nancy.
How lovely to have friends over in your house! It’s been so long since we had people over! we are more likely to have increased restrictions over the next few weeks, sadly.
I love all those plants – I just need someone else to care for them (I kill plants – I’m a very neglectful “plant mom”. :-O

Me too Sheila, they get a huge splash of water each week whether they need it or not!
I am missing a couple of my friends, but we are too afraid to get together. We all tend to be a huggy bunch, and we are afraid after a couple of cocktails, we might forget and hug each other. I am so glad you and your friends had such a nice time.
Yikes on the rash! I hope the dermatologist has some speedy answers for you. Glad you lab tests are good!

Yes me too Michelle. We are not at all hugging people so that is easier!
I hope you manage to get the rash sorted out Nancy. It’s horrible when you don’t know what’s causing rashes. I develop new allergies and it’s such a pain when you have to work out what it is. xx

Yes I think so too, perhaps it has to do with menopause?
Definitely keeping my fingers crossed that they figure out the cause of your rash and help you get it under control. You always look so stylish! I bet it was just wonderful seeing friends again.

Oh thank you very much! Yes it was!
It was no doubt awesome to hang out with friends again! Since the virus is so out of control here in the U.S. that won’t be something we can do for quite awhile, at least those of us who follow the rules!

It is okay over here to have two people in your house but restaurants and bars are closed for weeks now!
I am so glad you had friends over to visit, any return to normal feels so good, doesn’t it? I really like polymer clay earrings – they feel so good, and are so pretty!

Thanks Kathrine, you mean the leopard one? I love all my pleated skirts but this one is xtra great!
I too have been busy doing nothing during the past week. Minus the friends visiting, as only one close contact is allowed inside our houses. I’m loving the box with the house plant cuttings! That would make a wonderful present.
I’m sorry to hear your rash is back, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for your visit to the dermatologist.
Sounds like Sunday was indeed not such a good day. Sending hugs xxx

Thanks Ann!
How frustrating with that rash Nancy. That’s just craziness.
So your cats don’t eat your houseplants?? We can’t keep real ones around because of our cats (well, really just one of our cats)

Thanks Suzy! I have to do several tests next week and hope that I get a result on Friday!
Sunday sounds like a horrible day! Sorry to hear your rash has come back. Nice to have friends round. We are out of lockdown but not allowed to have other people in the house, until Christmas
Author
Yes I heard it! But you do have a vaccin! Hopefully it will soon be over Gail!
Glad you had a wonderful times with your friends and hopefully your next Sunday will be better than this last one! Missing visiting with friends. I think we are going ot try to get together with one friend and her family this Christmas break. We haven’t visited with them since last February!

It is to long isn’t it! Hopefully it will soon be over with help from a vaccin.
Ooh, I am really loving all of your outfits in this one, Nancy! How exciting that you are getting a new laptop! I bought an external hard drive when I got my laptop and I periodically move all of my photos from the laptop onto the hard drive to save on space. I may never look at what’s on that drive, but at least I know I have it! That rash sounds awful. I hope you have gotten some relief from it. Thanks for linking with me!
