Food, Family & Friends Throwback Tuesday #11

food family and friends

Yes, more food family and friends! With the heat wave going on all week, I really didn’t do much. And at the weekend we took advantage of the heat by inviting family and friends over for dinner. We love to eat outside and do it whenever the weather allows it. The featured photo is an older one with another swimming pool.

I worked out at home because the treadmill at the physiotherapist was broken. But exercising is really terribly tough. It’s so stuffy in the house, it’s actually impossible. But we just keep going! So I read a lot and lie in the swimming pool, (it’s more a paddling pool) I won’t bore you with those pictures!

Loving this warm weather

I did buy a beautiful black blazer pre loved, mine was worn out and a very nice skirt. Very funny, I have had the skirt before and completely worn it off. And now I have it again. I also have a really nice dress in the Zara basket, maybe for my birthday at the end of the month. Two more weeks and then we have a holiday. We are really ready for it!

The entire weekend was again devoted to eating with friends and family. Saturday Paul and Celina came over to eat mussels. Gerben makes the best cooked mussels, Irish way! Paul ,,dived,, immediately into the swimming pool! I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from them, beautiful isn’t it?

It’s all about food, family and friends

Cozy up the candles in the evening, drinking wine and beer, relaxing! I am going to miss that later in the autumn. When it gets colder and we can’t sit outside all evenings. I am already concerned about how that should be done socially wise. Are we inviting people in our home? Is that safe? What a weird world it is this year.

Sunday my parents-in-law and brother-in-law came to barbecue. There was a thunderstorm predicted and just when we had really taken the last bite it started! Quickly cleaned up the dishes and installed us on the lounge set. And enjoyed the cooling rain. That’s it for the past week. Next week we have another barbeque!

Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.

I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!

Oh indeed, otherwise it was way to hot!

It looks like you all have had so much fun! Your pool is perfect – I wish that was the size of ours. Our in the ground pool is such a money pit, it constantly needs repairs and we hardly use it!

Looks like so much fun! We will start eating outside soon. I usually can have my breakfast on the patio especially now that my husband is working on getting rid of the yellow jacket bees that are very annoying. Love looking at the woods behind our house and watch all the birds. My birthday is coming up so I am starting to think about that but first anniversary, and my son’s bday.

Our rules are restricted and now we aren’t allowed to have more then 6 guests in our home. My birthday won’t be celebrated then.

I do love Summer weather, but I suffer when it’s over 30° Celsius. I think I need a pool like yours, but then we would also need a bigger garden! How lovely to have friends and family over for dinner, and be able to eat outside. Gerben’s mussels do look delicious. As you know, we’ll be on holiday too, and we too are very very ready for it. Are you going away somewhere? xxx

No we also stay in our own country. I think we will go to Friesland and Kerkrade.

Now that’s a real pool. We seriously have a kiddie size one that just is not the same. Granted we usually go to the rec center, but still.
I love that you are finding so many great things preloved. Don’t forget that our #thriftedchicstylechallenge is next week on Instagram!!

It looks like you are having so much fun! I really like your pool–I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that around here for adults.

No? It’s a perfect one, also for social distancing, lol.

I’m glad that you are taking advantage of the summer weather to socialize. It’s too hot here right now. We are waiting for it to get cooler to do some patio dining at local restaurants. Totally avoiding going inside buildings unless we absolutely have to (like lab work appointments, etc).

      And even then……

Your paddling pool is lovely – how nice on a hot day! I’m sorry you had to work out at home – I find that much harder to motivate for.

I know, I’m worried about seeing my friends and family once the weather is colder. I’m leery of having too many people in a home at once! I bet patio heaters will be much in demand.

Nancy, it looks like you are making the best of these final days of summer. I am reading about heat waves everywhere just as things are starting to cool down here. In fact, today looks to be the last really hot day of summer for us. I guess I am okay with that. I guess I also have no choice in the matter! Hopefully, we can still enjoy lots of outdoor time though. I love your little wading pool! Thanks for linking up.
