We had such a fantastic weekend, so relaxed and so much fun! We went with friends to Drenthe, in The Netherlands, where we stayed for one night in a inn, and we cycled two days there. Drenthe is very green and relaxed and quiet. With perfect cycle paths through forests and moors. But first, here is what happened before the weekend started.

Monday started with a visit to the hairdresser. And although I think I’ve had the same haircut all my life, it’s always great to have a fresh cut and go out without glitter. In addition, it is always pleasant at my hairdresser’s salon and you are immediately aware of the latest village gossip. Also not unimportant. Tuesday I went to the gym, the treadmill was broken so I started on the exercise bike. But I started way too heavy and was bothered by it all the time. Pff, it was so heavy, but that was also due to the high humidity.
Wednesday and Thursday I worked out again and cleaned the house. Nothing special on those days.
What a fantastic weekend

Friday we left on time for Drenthe and arrived at the inn at 11 o’clock, first coffee of course, and then on the bicycle. We had mapped out a route in advance and it was so beautiful to cycle! Also very varied. Of course we had lunch somewhere during the day and in the afternoon we cycled back to the inn. We checked in, refreshed ourselves and then we sat outside to start our dinner! We had a 5 course tasting with a wine pairing. Well that was unbelievably delicious! Those flavors! Even Karel liked the vegetables! And we sat outside until half past eleven, when we had only finished eating.
The next day we had a delicious breakfast and after we had finished, we checked out and drove to a town about 40 kilometers away to cycle there again. Also incredibly beautiful. In the afternoon on the way home we went to a pancake restaurant to end this fantastic weekend!
We laughed so much and cycled so wonderfully, it really was a mini holiday! On Sunday Gerben and I went for a short bicycle ride, we wanted to enjoy the weather as long as possible because ,,they,, predicted rain, and we sat outside all evening. No rain at all. What a fantastic weekend we had, our battery is recharged again!

- It was a 5 course dinner, 5 wines…..
