Fed Up with Corona News Throwback Tuesday #41

completely fed up with Corona news

I know it will probably count for all of you, but I am completely fed up with Corona news. Will tell you about why. And finally we had a few warm days. On Monday afternoon I immediately sat in the sun and read in my e-reader. And I immediately had a healthier tan on my cheeks! Gerben cleaned the lounge set in the evening and that always makes me so happy. Then spring can really begin!

Completely fed up with Corona news

On Tuesday I called the GP and the lung specialist about my vaccination. Well I can tell you, I just whined a bit! So where I thought I would get vaccinated from May, it is from May to October! I can’t believe it! I can get so angry about that.

What is that in this country! Healthy people over 60 have now received an invitation and I hear from all sides that at the end of the day, any vaccinations that are left are being thrown away. In addition, our politicians have said, before the elections, of course, that everyone has had a shot before the summer. That is not the case, it can take until October.

And that is my age group, then the others after me still have to get one. I am so fed up with it. I have decided not to read every day how many infections have come back and how it is all going. What is the point, you are being lied to. Do I now sound like a conspiracy thinker? I hope not. I’m just someone who’s had enough of it!

What was going on the rest of the week

And we continue with my week, lol. Wednesday I had my nails done again. Three types of lilac, because I bought a lilac skirt and dress! Afterwards I enjoyed the sun in the garden. In the evening we ate outside for the first time this year! On Thursday they came to fix my wheelchair, it needed a new battery. But the guy came and went with my battery. It took two weeks to collect it! And on the phone they said they would have a new one with them. That’s really how my weeks are if I have to rely on others. Friday, do I still have to report that, cleaning day.

On Saturday I first worked out and then sat in the sun. It was really nice and warm in the sun. Sunday, Easter Sunday, we went to have brunch with friends. The plan was to eat outside, but it was only about 8 degrees Celsius. When we arrived they were already outside, the table set, patio heater on, extra heater on, ah so sweet.

But it was way too cold and we had a delicious, but way too much brunch inside and finally caught up again. That’s so nice! When we got home we really did nothing and watched TV all evening. The third season of Broadchurch starts next week, yeah. Then I watched Sisters, also a nice series, but I just can’t take my attention away from those ears of the actor…….sorry…..

We had a few…..snacks later that night. Afterwards we said to each other: we will not do this anymore, getting unhealthy snacks in the freezer! Just to much!

Have a great week!

I have just finished the last slice of my birthday cake. It was a huge slice…more like two slices. Now to get back to eating healthy again tomorrow. But boy it was good!!

I am so sorry about your vaccination. I can’t understand why you aren’t at the top of the list with your health concerns. Keep calling. Maybe once a week make a call to bug someone and maybe they will get you in earlier. I am so thankful that my daughter was able to get me in for my vaccination. I feel like a weight has bee lifted.

I love the lilac nails!! Need a mani/pedi desperately over here.

This sounded like such a lovely weekend, loving all you outdoor photos! And I’m right with you being fed up with anything corona related. I cannot believe it has been more than a year and it’s still here! Hope everything turns out for the better for all of us soon!

It boggles my mind that you still haven’t been vaccinated yet. In our state I think we’re already open to anyone ages 16+ as every other age bracket has already been vaccinated including anyone with any underlying health issues. All your foods look delicious!

Thanks Joanne, that is great! Thanks , you know by now that I love food, lol.

I cannot believe you have to wait until October! Especially with your condition. That is infuriating! I was getting mad here in the states because I’ve seen so many others get their vaccinations. I really hope this situation changes for you Nancy. Sending prayers your way my friend.

My doctors are no help either and of course they know about my condition. But the lung patient group takes good care of themselves and do not end up at the IC and that’s why we are late! Shame on our government.

I completely understand why you are angry and fed up. Jos had finally received his invitation and will get his first shot on April 17. He is in his early 70s, so I do wonder when it will be my turn. Probably not before this Summer, even not later! I am so surprised that with your lung issues you are not considered a priority! In any case, I have not been listening to or reading Corona news for many weeks now. In fact, I have only been reading the barest minimum all through the pandemic. What use is it that we know the number of people infected. It only adds to our worries and undermines our well-being. We can only continue to act responsibly and carefully and hope for the best.
But didn’t we have the most wonderful weather for a couple of days last week? It was so lovely to be able to sit outside in the garden or, in my case, do some gardening with the sun on my back! Such a shame it was cold at Easter, and is even colder – and snowing – now! Sending hugs xxx

Thank you very much Ann! I am happy for you and Jos that he has got his invitation. Yes it was so lovely, I enjoy it so much. It was white here when I woke up this morning!

I’m so sorry Nancy. It is so frustrating when you have no control. We stopped watching the news a year ago because it just wasn’t helping my mental health!!
But I do love your nails. I need to take the time and do mine one of these days,

Nancy, I’m so sorry about the vaccine wait! I would think given your health condition, you should be in one of the early groups to get vaccinated.

I love the outfit in the first photo. So pretty! And yay for Spring!

Here the government looks at what kind of people are at the IC and that group gets first. Thanks Michelle.

I am so sorry to hear about the vaccine issue over there – it makes no sense to me at all. When they first started giving vaccines here, at the end of the day if they had leftovers from no shows they’d give them to anyone who came by so they didn’t have to throw them out. Wonder if that’s a possibility there?

They speak about that right now. But where one party says that is true, the other party is saying they throw them away. I just have to wait.

  11. 7th April 2021 / 18:22

Ugh. I know how frustrating it is to get an appointment for the vaccine. Ours suddenly opened up and I was able to get my last shot last week, so things are looking up! In California, all citizens will be able to BOOK an appointment by April 15th, but I don’t know how long it will take then. Hang in there. Your turn will come–hopefully sooner! You look super cute in that outfit by the way. I’m glad you had a nice Easter. We were able to eat outside but it was a bit breezy. Have a great end of the week, Nancy.

Oh my goodness Nancy, that is ridiculous that you still can’t get your vaccine. I really hope that things change soon for and that you don’t have to wait until October. On a brighter note, I love both of your manicures and I am glad that you had a nice time seeing your friends. I also hope that this week is going well for you so far. XO, Caroline

Sending good vibes that you can get your vaccination sooner, Nancy – since you are immuno-compromised it seems like you should be up on the top of the list! We can now create an online request for a vaccination and when they get to our age group, we get a notification of when we can go. I’m excited – it should be in the next few weeks for me.

I love your lilac nails – this comes from a woman who never does her nails!

  14. 8th April 2021 / 18:22

I can’t believe you are not on the top of the list. I really hope you land up getting it much sooner. The news can be so negative and I try to really limit how much I allow myself to watch it. You always share the absolute best food photos! I am hungry looking at them!

Nancy, I love your outfit in the first photo! The print and style is so dramatic and so very pretty! And I feel you on the conspiracy thinking…it is hard not to let our minds wonder what is truth and what is lies out there right now! But I do hope that you are able to get your vaccine sooner than October! It doesn’t make any sense if so many people are hesitant to get it and they have an overabundance of vaccines because of that, why are they not allowing people who actually want it (and need it) to just get them. None of it makes any sense to me either and so I stopped reading and watching the news and just hide at home!

I am sorry that you will not be able to get the vaccine yet. It makes not sense. I am still on the fence about it but I feel like if someone wants it, it should be made accessible to them. I think it is a 50/50 here in the US but anyone now who want it is eligible. My parents did get it this past month. On a happier note: I am glad you are able to enjoy the sun! We have loved eating dinner out on the porch and enjoying the warm but not hot weather.
