A Year On! Throwback Tuesday #53

a year on with Throwback Tuesday

This is number 53 of Throwback Tuesday which means we are a year on! Wow. This was the start of it! Do you like to read these posts? I do like to write them! Last Monday I had my second vaccination! In the afternoon I got very tired and Tuesday I was really very tired all day! But luckily just that. What a nice feeling now, that you feel safer and dare to do more things again. To go to a shop!!!!!, for example. Or have dinner inside a restaurant. I can not wait!

A year on, and what happened last week

Wednesday I had two appointments for a domestic help and I finally can say: We have found someone! So nice, it makes a huge difference for Gerben. Of course also working out on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. And cleaned the house on Friday. Suddenly the weather isn’t very warm anymore. And the sun doesn’t shine at all, so sitting outside is just too cold.

Which is also so not funny…..I had a very nice dress in my Zara basket, but I said out loud to Gerben: and now I won’t go shopping, on line, until my birthday (August 31). And the same evening the Zara sale went out and my dress was discounted. Isn’t that incredibly bland! I think it is…. it is still in my cart and sold out now…. story of my life.

And how was the weekend

So first working out on Saturday. I love that because in the meantime I’m watching Saturday Kitchen Life and I think it’s such a fun program. Gerben had put meat on the bbq at 9 o’clock in the morning and we went to eat at 8 o’clock in the evening. Lol. But it was very tasty, pulled pork. I had made coleslaw with it and hard rolls. Luckily it was still warm enough to eat outside. At 10 o’clock we went in to watch Vera.

Sunday we went cycling after breakfast. Picked up an ice cream at a farm along the way. It was so wonderfully quiet and all the birds were chirping so beautifully. When we got home from cycling there was a huge bag of cherries behind the house! Brought our friend from their cherry tree. What a surprise, I love cherries and they taste so much better off the tree than from the supermarket! In the afternoon friends came over to chat. Always cosy. In the evening Gerben made risotto with red sea bass. Just when we wanted to eat it started to rain, but we just ate outside under the roof. The orange madness in the Netherlands is over, we are eliminated at the European Championship! But Max has won again!

So, a year on, you know a lot now of what happens in my life! Have a nice week everyone!

I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!

So glad you are fully vaccinated and didn’t have too many side effects. I know you will have peace of mind now and can get back to enjoying life! I admire your self control – I think I would have had to get that Zara dress once it went on sale!

I amy have to join you with your no clothes shopping till August 31 and you can keep me accountable: I have spent way to much these past couple of months. I do love these posts so keep them coming. You are inspiring me to wear some of my skirts: I have been reaching for dresses instead and my skirts are all lonely in my closet! Love that first one of yours: fun and summery!

Of course, I couldn’t take my eyes of that marvellous Zara skirt, it’s absolutely divine!
I absolutely love reading these posts, so please continue to write them.
Good news on your second vaccination – and only being tired afterwards. I’m counting the days to July 9 when I’ll have my second jab.
I’m glad to read you found domestic help.
All the food looks delicious as always, and how lovely to get cherries from your friends! xxx

      Oh really? Why??

Isn’t it just amazing how that second vaccine feels like it reopens the world to us? So glad you are vaccinated now. I think all of us appreciate ‘normal’ life more than ever now days.

I saw this outfit on Instagram and fell in love. What a darling skirt!! Love the bright colors and that bold floral print. Really fun. Your top is perfect with it, too. One of my favorite looks on you!

Yay for finding someone to help around the house. I don’t know what is wrong with me but I am not interested at all in cleaning the house…when it used to be a favorite activity of mine. Thinking I must be depressed!! All I want to do is sleep.

Ooh, I love that fun skirt, Nancy! What a great pattern.

Hooray for Throwback Thursday, and hooray for your 2nd vaccination! Like Ann, I’m counting the days until I get mine (on Jul 13). Then 2 more weeks for it to take full effect…and THEN I’m safe. Phew! It was a long wait!

You are so lucky to have ‘a Gerben’ (lol). He should open a restaurant! Your food always looks so delicious.

You are quite welcome to some of the crazy heat we’ve been having here – take it!!

I love that red and pink skirt! I had my second vaccination a couple of weeks ago and I was tired afterwards too, but thankfully not ill like after the first one, that was not a nice experience. It’s great to feel safe now – we went to a waterpark at the weekend and it was great to get back to normality again! Thanks for linking up!
