I think most of you have never seen this leather skirt. Think I showed it on the blog once, but that was my previous blog, or rather this blog, but you can read all about what I mean by that here. The skirt is already quite old, I think about 9 years old. For me that is old. It’s faux leather, so it will fall apart soon. I don’t wear it very often, although I really love this skirt, I can’t wear it at home. I’ve said it before, we have white leather dining table chairs and a white leather corner sofa, so you can’t sit on it with fake leather. Then you get stains that won’t go away. So it’s a rather difficult skirt.
Sweater and sneakers with a leather skirt
But today I’m showing it anyway since we’re going out and then I can wear it. I also don’t buy anything made of faux leather anymore. I saw a guest on Saturday Kitchen Live wearing a similar outfit a while back and immediately thought of my skirt and this sweater. That’s my regular Saturday morning routine, working out and watching Saturday Kitchen Live.
So I am wearing the leather skirt with a sweater that I also bought years ago. I loved the color but knew it wouldn’t suit me. But sometimes you don’t care, right? And it has a v-neck, which I like best. But every time I wear this sweater I find the color just right for me. I think this light blue has a bit more warmth to it. But the sweater is getting ugly now, think I will only wear it at home from now on. And wearing my beloved white sneakers, also a few years old.
Showing clothing on repeat, however not this leather skirt
I plan not to buy anything new in February, failed in January, anyway, so you will see a lot of outfits on repeat. Nothing wrong with that, that’s in real life very normal….right? (lol) I sometimes get a comment, mostly from men, especially my girlfriend’s husband, yes you Karel, how can you wear something new every day? Then I explain nicely that if I wear a blue skirt now and again next week, he really hasn’t remembered that he has seen the skirt before.
Haha, but apparently I often look very different while it doesn’t feel that way to me. But I don’t think you will see this leather skirt anymore because it’s just a hard one to wear if you can’t wear it at home. I will put it on Vinted. Wearing a lot of accessories, for me, because I just wanted to. The necklace is one of my favourites. It reminds me always of The Birds, the movie by Alfred Hitchcock.
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

This is such a stylish outfit, like one of those really cool street style outfits you see at fashion week. You master the front tuck so well too, it always looks terrible on me! Hope you have a great weekend!

Thank you very much Tina!
It looks a cool outfit! I love the necklace. I didn’t know that faux leather would be a problem with leather furniture, you learn something new every day!

Haha, oh take it from me Gail! Thanks.
Love this outfit on you Nancy. Love the thick knit jumper over the pencil skirt. Cute birds 🙂 Have a great weekend

Thank you very much Anna! Have a good weekend.
I like that blue knit on you! It’s a shame that the skirt is so tricky to wear as it does look good on you! Much better to let it go and wear something in your wardrobe you are happier in 🙂 Thank you for the link up!

You are absolutely right Mica! Thank you and have a good weekend!
I love this blue color on you too! The whole look is fabulous and like that you wore sneakers to keep it comfy. That necklace is so fun too. Thanks for the link up!

I love Alfred Hitchcock! I am also really loving the sneakers with your skirt and that blue is so pretty on you!
Have a great weekend Nancy!

I think the skirt is lovely Nancy. It will never date. But I understand what you mean about wearing around the house and not getting enough wear. We can’t keep it all, can we? I will think of you when I’m watching Saturday Kitchen Live. One of my favourite programmes too xx
I really like this outfit Nancy, especially how the knit looks with the leather skirt. What a great combination of fabrics, textures and colors. I didn’t buy anything but a sweatshirt to make for Kindness day in January and I am hoping to do the same for February. We have a trip coming up and I’d love to save up my $ so I can do a big shop then.

It’s a really fun outfit! I wouldn’t have thought of it but it looks great: that blue is so good on you know and is there anything that doesn’t look good with white sneakers? I’ve been buying this month, got 2 bathing suit to use on this weekend’s vacation that has an indoor pool and then I found a pair of flare white jeans: we’ll see if I keep then. Also found a skirt… I am ready for spring and no more rain!

This is such a great look! I love your skirt and the edgy vibes!

That shade of blue looks so good on you, Nancy! Great outfit, but I can see why you’re thinking of getting rid of the skirt. Just not practical if you can’t sit on your furniture with it.

It you really love the skirt-get new furniture (ha-ha, just a joke!) Love the edgy, elevated casual look of this outfit. The textures really add to it and are perfect together, and the sweater is a beautiful color on you! Hope you have a good weekend and thanks for the link up!

That sweater is a gorgeous shade of blue and looks terrific on you!
I love the outfit. Are you sure you want to sell the skirt. I think it is fab on you.
I can’t really bring myself to even try faux leather pants or skirts. I think it looks great on others but something about that fabric just turns me off. I do love your sweater though!
I love this outfit and you look amazing! Have a wonderful weekend! Xoxo
I love the way you put together this whole look Nancy!
That’s so interesting that you can’t wear the skirt at home with your furniture. I would have never thought of that. I have a white leather office chair and luckily I haven’t noticed that with mine because I don’t know what I would do.

That skirt is so pretty on you! I love the texture leather adds to an outfit!
I actually think this shade of blue looks lovely on you Nancy! Shame about the skirt not cooperating with your chairs and sofa! Swooning over the birds necklace! xxx
Nancy, you look fabulous in this blue sweater! I love your bird necklace…that movie terrified me! You always look so good in those white sneakers. I never knew that about faux leather and real leather. Thanks so much for the link party!

Thank you Mira.
I have a few things that I can’t wear at home because of the cat hairs lol! You look fab though, Nancy. Such a shame the skirt is going and the jumper is going to be only for ‘at home’ wear!
Big hugs

Hi Nancy!
I think the skirt style suits you very well! So pretty! I know what you mean about faux leather! Mine have crackled! I bought leather finally , thrifted , so for a great price. The color of the sweater is lovely!! I think the outfit looks wonderful and modern!

Oh real leather is so much better isn’t it Jess!
Oh, missed the party – my bad, sorry, Nancy! I love the skirt, but yes, real leather is always better – I have leather in my closet that it 50 years old and in amazing condition still. This is a great outfit – that is a lovely blue on you.

And it just feels so much better, real leather, so soft.

Gahhhh…I have that same Alfred Hitchcock necklace! LOL So cute. I love the color of this sweater and it looks so great with the leather pencil skirt. I think I won’t buy fake leather anymore either. It’s not something that I am really into these days. I also have cut back on shopping, but I did get some amazing things on my vacation!
