Ooh what a color explosion for me, huh? Lilac and green, what a great combination. It’s like walking into a beautiful spring garden full of flowers. Well, this color combination of lilac and green just popped into my head! No of course not. I’m not that colorful after all! (well, my personality is! Lol.)But I can be delighted by certain combinations. So I copied this one from the creative Emma from Style Splash. When I saw her outfit, I immediately knew I was going to copy it. So beautiful! Her coat too!! Wow.
Copycat with a lilac and green outfit.
So I do it the other way around, green from above and lilac from below. I was just struggling with the shoes. You have such a rule (well Nancy, they are ment to be broken) that your shoe color must come back in your outfit or else in the color of your skin. Well, I do think that my shoe color should be reflected in my outfit. But the color of your skin??? I don’t have nude shoes at all and I don’t like them either. But luckely I have this gorgeous pair of green ankle boots, I also have lilac ones that would be perfect too. I selected the sweater from Angel Clementine for an Insta collaboration. What a beautiful color! And wonderfully warm. I really need warm sweaters. Have the feeling I get colder and colder every winter.
Spring colors, lilac and green, wearing in winter.
The lilac pleated skirt is actually a summer skirt, but I have said it before: why should we only wear the clothes we love a few months a year? Bullocks. For accesories I added a very small lilac belt and a lilac ring. And gorgeous green earrings. The earrings are super light which is a pre these days, but the color combination is so gorgeous! And the boots are a few years old, I wore them here too. Those boots and these are so very very comfortable. They are a joy for your feet.
Nowadays that seem to be important. When I was, a lot, younger and had no problems with walking, it didn’t matter to me if shoes were comfortabe. They just had t be amazing! You all can relate right? I am not the only girl who cycled almost a half hour to the nightclubs in winter with pumps that hurted like hell, and no socks on……gosh was I stupid or what.
Do you like the lilac and green combination?
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

Oh I just LOVE that sweater. I too look for warmer and thicker ones each year as my tolerance for cold seems to dwindle the older i get. I have been teasing my husband that it’s time to move south so we can skip winter altogether.

That would be a great idea to me!
Your outfit makes me think of Spring, not too far away I hope. Jacqui x

What a gorgeous colour combo, Nancy. In fact, I have recently bought a dress featuring both lilac and green.
Like most fashion rules, which usually only make me laugh, I had no idea of the one that says your shoe colour should come back in your outfit, let alone your skin 🙂 That said, my shoe colour does sometimes match one of the colours of my outfit 🙂 I’m loving your flower ring and earrings too! xxx

Oh wow, Nancy! Thanks for the feature! That was a wonderful surprise! I love this outfit on you. The lilac and green work so perfectly together. And it is a great color combination for winter. Brighten things up a bit! Your skirt, sweater, and boots are all so great by themselves and even better put all together!

Happy New Year Nancy and thank you for the hospitality over the last year. I appreciate the amount of admin that it takes to keep a link party going. Seeing a good color combo is often the way to push us out of our comfort zone and it’s a goodie. Keep well and let’s hope for a happier and healthier new year for us all.

“very peri” (e.g. periwinkle) is the Pantone color of the year, so you are right on trend! This combination looks so lovely and springy on you!

I just love this color combination Nancy….and I agree with everything you say. Why only wear certain pieces for certain months and the things we did for cute shoes. Now at least we can find cute and comfy!!

Indeed! What a relief isn’t it!
Lilac and green are two of my favorite colors…they’re all over in my closet (and my bedroom)! You look so very fabulous in this outfit! I love that skirt! That ring is so pretty! And, I don’t really like nude shoes either…they just make my legs and feet look funny! I don’t even worry about matching my shoes so much as I worry if they look right…does that even make sense? Ah, well! And, yes, I wore very uncomfortable shoes. A favorite pair had wooden soles. They were platforms and had probably at least a 3 inch heel which wasn’t that high as they were platforms! But, they creaked when I walked! Ah, to have young feet again!
Thanks for the link up!

Indeed, those feet that could bare it all. I to have shoes with wooden heels and they are fabulous actually! Thanks Marsha!
I love lilac and green together, I think it’s a beautiful combination. You look fabulous, Nancy. I think those boots go perfectly well with the outfit too. I did giggle with your use of the word ‘Bullocks’ — I think you meant, ‘Bollocks’ lol. One of my favourite curse words!! I use it ALL the time!!
Happy New Year my gorgeous friend!

Haha. I am glad you corrected me, going to adjust it straight away! I love bollocks, bly me and bloody!
I love this beautiful color combination! What a fantastic outfit! And the earrings are fabulous. They remind of polymer clay. I’m with you on the flat shoes. My love of tall heeled shoes didn’t last very long, honestly. I love the way they looked, but comfort quickly won out.

These are not clay but I do have them and they are very light too! Thanks Michelle!
I adore this outfit Nancy, and I’m so happy that I inspired you to try these colours! I love your earrings and ring, they go so well with the outfit. I used to wear very uncomfortable shoes when I was younger too – and I’m paying the price for it now! I was offered bunion surgery but chickened out, so I’ll have to wear sensible shoes from now on!

I really like this combination of colors, although it is not obvious and rarely combined. Beautiful skirt! I love it!
Author
Thanks! I just copied it, lol.
Great colour combination, Nancy, and I love the choice of grey boots (they look grey to me) with it. I used to destroy my feet with uncomfortable (but fabulous!) shoes when I was young – it really is my only regret. I would go back and tell my younger self, “Do not walk home in heels!” So dumb.
Thanks so much for the link-party!
Author
Haha, I know, but we did love heels so much back then!
The lilac skirt and the green sweater look fabulous together. The color combination is like a harbinger of Spring. And I like the flowing lines of the two pieces.
