A sun-drenched week in the Netherlands! Finally summer. And how, immediately we have a heat wave. And what does a heat wave mean? Right, barbecue time! And because it looks like it will be hot here for at least another week, we also have bbq’s next weekend scheduled!

I got the blood test results. I had requested a telephone consultation. Because I was like, if the blood testing is already so bad, corona wise, I will not take that risk anymore. The GPs are in the same building so why should I expect that safety precautions would be better there.
All was well except kidney function had declined. So I need to drink more. Unfortunately not wine! Furthermore, it was a quiet week, reading a lot in the garden. Gerben had set up the swimming pool, so I kept myself cool, in there.

- This is The start of a Friday night at our place!
Friday I went to the hairdresser, let the old age work away. And as always, you really don’t leave there without a styled haircut! Then dropped by friend Gerdi to eat a piece of cake in honor of her birthday! Saturday evening we had a barbeque with friends. Great to sit down and not have to do anything.
On Sunday we gave ourselves a barbeque for my father and his wife and my sister and her partner. Delicious though! I will miss that enormously when it gets colder again. For the time being it seems to remain warm for a while. Three more weeks and then we also have a holiday! I am really counting down!

We are having a heatwave too, but unfortunately I’m no good at all with hot weather. And there’s no escaping it in our tiny walled garden! But I won’t complain too much as it’s giving me the opportunity to wear all my hot weather clothes! I do agree with you about Hydrangeas looking great in every stage they’re going to, even when they’re becoming brown, like ours do to. Sorry to hear about your kidneys. I hope you manage to avert more serious problems by drinking lots and lots. What a shame wine doesn’t count 🙂 Your hair looks gorgeous and what fun to have your family over for a barbecue!

I love your stripes, Nancy. I kind of wish we’d have a heat wave – it’s been hovering around 20-24 here, which is nice, but not HOT, you know?
Drink more, my dear! Too bad it’s not wine (heh heh). I am going to miss outside gatherings when it starts getting colder. We have maybe 2 more months here of being able to meet up outside.

Oh really, I think it ends here half September! 24 degrees sound good to me now. I just worked out at 31 degrees, I am exhausted!
Oh how good a barbecue sounds! I love your dress. I had to go to the lab last week for blood work and it was hairy. People everywhere without masks. I wore a mask and a shield. Then I did tele-medicine with my NP. I am getting my hair done next week. My friend who is my stylist is coming to my house so I don’t have to go into the salon. She is such a wonderful person.
