Here it is, my gingham suit. I told you about it before. I saw this suit on a site months ago and immediately fell in love with it. Actually I wanted to buy a gingham suit last year, but didn’t for some reason. So I had put this suit in my shopping basket and waited until it was discounted. That eventually happened but I thought it was still too expensive. And suddenly I saw it on the second-hand site! My size and not worn! Had to have it!!
What was wrong with my Gingham suit
When I received the suit it felt strange. I mean it was clearly not worn, the sizes were good, but I saw something about it but I didn’t know what. I looked for the washing label, it wasn’t there. And I knew it had to be in it. Because this suit is from the brand I used to work for. And there was always a code in the washing label with what year the item was from. I could not figure out what was wrong with it! It was only when we took these photos that I found out what was. You can read that in my IGTV!
What to wear with Gingham
You can wear gingham with everything. I would wear a leopard blouse underneath, or a floral print and every color of course goes with black and white. I chose pink because I wanted to. However, I think a bolder color is much nicer. But I felt pink, lol. But I would also like to wear it with these boots and these. Gingham is always trendy in summer! And you see it in a lot of colors too these days. Not only the classic black and white. My preference is the classic style. But if I still want to wear it as a two piece? What do you think?

Wowza! The lining on that suit jacket is fabulous! I like the “mismatch”of the gingham checks and would love to play with that. I know that wasn’t your plan, and that makes it frustrating. Thank you for sharing Tamara’s gorgeous look!

Thanks Lizz!
The gingham is fabulous on you! And I love the lining on the jacket. 🙂

Thanks Chrissy!
I love everything about this suit…and I think the pieces look fabulous together even if they are slightly different & from different seasons. It would be so good with a leopard top…you’re right about that!

The ginham suit still looks great as a suit even if the pieces were not from the same suit. That patterns suits you well! =)

I love your gingham suit, especially with that fun lining in the blazer! But did you ever figure out how to wash it?!

No, but I only wanted to see of what season and year it was. I wash my clothes all on 30 degrees in a wool programme.
I don’t know…I think you could still wear it as a suit because it still looks great together. I bet maybe 5% of people would notice the different sizes of gingham. It took me awhile in your video to notice!!!
And the inside?? OMG, maybe you should just turn it inside out!!!

Ha, that’s a idea! I will try that later to see if it is possible! What a good idea!
Oh, hou got the gingham suit! That’s just marvellous! And how lucky you were to find it second hand in your size too! It looks gorgeous worn with the pink top. I am a big fan of suits – mine are mostly skirt suits – as there are so many options. You can either wear it as separates or as a suit. I’m really on tenterhooks now, as I want to find out what was wrong with the suit! xxx
Author
Haha, that was my intention! Lol. look and find out!
Wow, that is a super sharp suit and a really good look on you, Nancy! (Of course, you can wear anything, my friend!) How funny that it was from YOUR store and secondhand in YOUR size. It was meant to be! It looks amazing together but will look great worn separately, too! Oh, and I loved your maxi dress for the BBQ–SO cute!! Enjoy the warm weather.

Nancy, I love it! The pink is so perfect with it. But like you said, you can wear any color with black and white gingham and it would look great! And the thing that is wrong with it…I still think it totally works and adds some nice interest. Have a great weekend!

Thanks Shelbee, I am not sure, I think it bothers me!
Well, if it is bothering you then you will not feel confident while wearing them together. But they are still fabulous pieces separately! Maybe you will find the matching pieces on another preloved site. But then you would have two of almost the same suit. Or you could pick the one you like better and resell the properly matching pieces of the other one!)

I think I will wear it separate, the blazer is really good, the trousers…mmm might sell them on.
Clearly it was meant to be that you had this suit! It’s beautiful on you and I love how you paired it with pink!

Thanks Laura!

Haha, yes it had my name on it!
Such a great suit! I like the pink with this, and it’s great you were able to find it second hand and at a better price!

I really like the gingham and really don’t think the different size gingham squares matters at all. The pink works well and as you say a bright would also be great. Many thanks for hosting Nancy , have a good weekend.

Thank you very much Jill! Have a good start of the week!
I loved seeing your video, Nancy! – how cool to hear your voice and how you talk! I could see right away that the ginghams were off – how bizarre that the two pieces were sold together! I think I would wear them together if the two ginghams were MORE different in size – as it is, they are just too close, but not close enough…but not different enough1 I love that you styled this with pink – one of my favourite shades too.
Thank you so much for the link-up party! I hope you had a fabulous weekend, my dear!

Thanks Sheila, indeed the difference is to small to be good! I like that you saw it! Thanks Sheila, have a good week!
