How do I style a orange suit! That is the question. How to style orange at all. Orange is certainly not my favorite color, in fact, I think it’s a pretty ugly color. Well I have to say that since this year it is a color that I now appreciate much better. I see bloggers that styled orange in a fabulous way. With red even! And it was amazing. But also with beautiful autumn colors of course.
I got this two-piece suit to review. I was allowed to choose a color or print and chose orange myself. Just to crawl out of my comfort zone. I initially would receive this suit somewhere in early October. At that time I also had in my head to wear it in Autumn style . But since I got it two months later, and we are already in winter, I did not liked to style it with autumn colors anymore. Because orange does not really suit me, I style it with black. With that I made the look a lot darker which is more my style and better for the glow in my face. I wear my new Italian boots! And yes, I have been able to buy them in the sale. I wanted to order them when they came into the sale because they were pretty pricey. Well of course I was late again because they were sold out. I was so disappointed that I kept looking online againand again, and suddenly my size was available again! Yeah!
Orange suit
This suit is from Oppo suits. They have very fun theme suits. Great Christmas suits too. For this year! Haha, you can’t be to early! But I’m not into the funny clothing. I do not like fashion as a joke. My sister-in-law, for example, always wears “funny”socks. What the hell is funny about socks. They must above all be very invisible. Except transparent and fishnet socks. But that is why I did not opt for an “funny suit”. I would like to look stylish with Christmas and not funny! I thought I would give orange a try. It has never been my favorite color, far from that, but I love it with red in the Summer. The suit fits perfectly and the skirt has a zipper but also a elastic waist band. Perfect for eating out! Although with the black it didn’t disappoint me to be honest. The scarf I made myself. Haha, no rocket science at all, just the most easiest stitch there is, and it took me three months. I am now knitting a red/pink scarf for Summer. I think, hope, it will be ready at that time.
Have you given the orange trend a try yet?
errrrrr it certainly is bold ! Like you this is not a colour that I would be confident in wearing so much of all at one time.
I think i would have to split the suit and use as separate items and that way I would possibly get more wear out of both pieces.
However, well done on your report and putting the suit together so elegantly

I agree with you, I wouldn’t wear it as a suit. Thank you very much Jill!
It is such a bold suit – and you will have so much fun styling the pieces separately too! I don’t have much orange in my wardrobe but it’s always so vibrant and cheerful when I do wear it – I should look for more of it! 🙂
Hope that you’ve had a wonderful start to 2019 so far! 🙂

Oh this brings back some memories of a red suit I owned back in the early 90’s. It was such a fun one to style! You look precious. Sometimes I miss having to dress in suits for work.

You look fabulous in orange Nancy! You certainly won’t get lost in the crowd in this striking outfit. I never used to like orange and didn’t have a stitch of clothing in orange until I started blogging.

I never had any color in my closet before blogging! Hahaha
The orange looks great on you Nancy! You’ll have lots of outfit options with the suit too as you can break it up and wear the jacket with jeans or a black skirt, and in Summer the skirt will look lovely with a pastel blue or pink top.

I’m glad you went out of your comfort zone with this Nancy. It’s such a stand out color and really looks marvelous.
And you can easily split it up and wear it with white in the warmer months!!!

Ik juist niet! Hahaha
It certainly is a very bold suit, Nancy! I think it would benefit from a really over the top styling, with a floral vintage blouse, in cobalt blue perhaps. My imagination is running wild here 😉 I neglected orange for many, many years, but have re-found a love for it when I started blogging. My favourite shade of orange is more like burnt orange, a bit darker and spicier than your suit. But: how can you not like orange, seeing that you’re from Holland 😉 xxx

Haha, yes I am very monarchistic! Haha!
Hey Nancy. How fun that Oppo suits has got ladies suits too. I have even seen their suits in big warehouses here in Switzerland, so those Dutchies do pretty well!
I like your choice for orange. It is a colour associated with positivity and that is somewhat everyone can use from time to time and when it is presented in such a stylish and charming way, it’s double good. Congrats on the self-made scarf too! I love the way you have styled it, tucking it under your belt.

Oh did you! That’s nice! Thanks Lieske!
Orange gets a bum rap but it really is a nice color and actually looks good on a lot of people! Love the way you styled this suit and I am glad you didn’t wear it in October. When I see orange in October I think of pumpkins and Halloween and this look is way to glamorous for any of that!

The orange suite is really a bold choice, Nancy. I don’t seeing very often on people. Probably because not everyone know how to style it. And it is such a nice color. You style it perfectly. Thank you for linking up with My Red Carpet.

You are just stunning in orange, Nancy! It looks beautiful on you. I don’t get novelty socks either – they don’t go with outfits!
