I know that you all prefer colorful outfits, but I wanted to wear my gingham blazer and for me it looks best with black. So yes, today again a nice summery black outfit! I had actually kind of forgotten about this gingham blazer, although it is clearly present in my closet of blazers and cardigans. Also check out at the end how beautiful this blazer is lined. Gingham is such a lovely summer print. I saw a gorgeous gingham dress on Amazon, and was to late with ordering it and it was sold out, story of my life…….as if I have nothing to wear……
Gingham blazer with silk skirt
So I wanted to wear the forgotten gingham blazer, along with the silky Marc Cain skirt. This skirt, among many other items, were gifted to me for a television programme. And what fits better with the blazer and skirt then this lovely butterflies and flowers tee. I think it’s a really nice combination. All the more so because I’m very much into matchy matchy. And I’m not a big fan of adding color to black and white. I bought this blazer on Vinted with trousers, and it was sold as a suit.
It turned out to not being a suit at all because the prints are not equal. I also could see that at the inside on the numbers. I used to work for that brand and knew the codes for seasons. So I sold the trousers because I can’t stand it if it doesn’t match. Or it had to be totally different prints of gingham, or different colours.
Black and white outfit with no addition of colour
Although a bright yellow tee would look fabulous with black and white. (I think I might stroll Vinted for a yellow top) I know that any colour looks good with black and white, I just don’t like it that much. The black leather bracelet is so old that it is starting to crumble a bit. Such a shame, because I think it’s so beautiful and cool. It’s a crocodile print. Well, another excuse to look for a new one. I am wearing a gold bracelet from this collaboration and a statement white ring. The espadrilles are a fabulous buy! They look good under everything and are comfortable.
The skirt is so great to wear. I already showed you the skirt here, wore it like the stylist advised me. It’s a heavy quality and doesn’t signify (is that the correct word?) as a silk skirt normally does. I can even wear it without corrective underwear…..if I don’t eat that day….lol.

I really like this all black and white outfit, Nancy. The skirt fits you perfectly and the print of a t-shirt is very cute. Love the gingham jacket, the lining is very attractive. Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Love the blazer and the combination with the Springy/summer tee! I need to try this more- graphic tee+ blazer. It looks very nicely lined too! You do have the red nails, so there is the color! But black and white always looks polished!
Have a great weekend Nancy!

I do love color but this is a gorgeous black and white outfit – the print mix of the gingham and graphic T is primo. I did laugh comparing this outfit to your “coastal grandmother” look – this one is definitely a you outfit while the coastal grandmother was a costume by comparison 🙂
It’s so much fun to discover ways to reimagine forgotten things! Love this chic black and white outfit on you, and the jacket lining is so beautiful. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for the link up party!
Wow, what a wonderful combination this is, dear Nancy! I’m sorry for you that this georgeous Gingham dress was already sold out, but so you can show us this great skirt together with the forgotten Gingham blazer once again. The outfit looks fantastic on you and the printed shirt is the caking of the ice.
The black-and-white outfit is perfect — no color needed! I especially like the black/white print shirt with the gingham-check design on the jacket. It’s a great example of print mixing that absolutely works.
Thank you for hosting the link-up.
