Let’s talk about earrings today. Because who doesn’t love earrings? I don’t actually know any woman who doesn’t wear them. And you, do you wear them? Or does it irritate you? Because there are also a lot of women who have some kind of allergy for jewelry. So perhaps you wear clip earrings then? Anyway, let’s talk about our love for earrings.
*I was allowed to choose earrings for a collaboration!
My love for earrings go way back

I know it’s awful! And I really do organize it often!
I remember well when I got my ears pierced for the first time. At that time it was still done with a needle through the ear and not with a pistol. I think I must have been about eight years old. Together with my sister and grandmother and mother. And then I got to pick out a bag of candy afterwards. Can still remember what kind of sweets I choose!
I think the first earrings were pendants with a heart or ladybugs. I think it were hearts and my sister had the ladybugs. Years later, when I was 18, I had five holes on each side. And in every hole loop earrings that went down in size. In the shop where I worked then I was known as that girl with all those earrings.
Which earrings do I love the most
I have always loved big earrings. Huge earrings. Over the years I have closed the fifth hole because it was on one side through the cartilage and hurt very much. Because I can not stand when something is not synchronous, I have also closed the other hole. Too bad because back then I wanted my entire ear rim full of earrings. Now I still have four and I still wear rings. Not huge earrings every day though. If I go out, yes! But for a “normal day”, I like to wear smaller earrings.
The only downsize to statement earrings is that they can be really heavy. So I am now looking for sites that have statement earrings made of light material. Do you also feel naked without your earrings?
I got to choose a pair of, oorbellen, earrings from Mostert Juweliers and they are very elegant. They fit perfect with the rest of the rings in my ears. Check their site for a perfect Mother’s day gift!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!

I also love earrings especially the statement pieces, although I never went to have multiple piercings. When I was growing up in Russia, the women only wore golden earrings, we didn’t have any other options and the more expensive they were, the better. In Australia, older women tend to wear valuable earrings, the younger generation wear them for pure decorations

Oh really, it was more of a status thing in Russia? Interesting. Thanks Anna!
My hair covers my ears so wearing earrings is no good for me because they can’t be seen. Having said that, I always wear a pair of gold studs or small hoops anyway. You have a great collection Nancy.
Author
Thanks Gail! Yes even if they can’t be seen I wear them!
Your earring box looks like mine Nancy! We can never have enough can we. I have to wear my hair up for any to really show though. I’ve always wanted to have more piercings too. Have a lovely weekend xx

Have you only got one at each side then Laurie? Have a lovely weekend!
I have three holes in one side and two in the other. The asymmetry is on purpose. For awhile I changed and rearranged the earrings I wore everyday. I liked that extra hole because I could still wear an earring when I had lost the other one of the pair. Eventually, I got tired of picking and choosing earrings on a daily basis. Now I wear rainbow hematite hoops in both sides going from small to larger all the time. I change out the bottom hoops when I want to wear special earrings – usually a pair I’ve made. Great topic, Nancy!

I just love earrings! When I don’t wear an earring I feel as if something very important is missing! Nice Post sweetie! Have a great day!

Haha, they just belong with any outfit doesn’t it!
I had so many earrings but not anymore as my hair covers up my ears and you just can’t see them. But I always admire a good earring – you’ve got some lovely ones. Take care and have a great weekend 🙂

Thanks Penny, have a good weekend!
I am an earring fan too! Love these beautiful dainty earrings you have. To organize my earrings, I have a cork board that I pin them on. Thanks so much for the link up Nancy!

I should buy such board! Thanks Kathrine!
They are lovely earrings on you! I pin all my earrings on a board so I can see them all at a glance – it works well for me as I have a lot of dangly earrings! I haven’t been wearing them a lot lately though, I need to try get them out more often! 🙂
Hope you have a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂 Thanks for the link up!

Hi Nancy! Boy have I missed visiting my fellow bloggers. Sharing my computer with 4 boys instead of two has been a challenge. Anyway, I hope you’ve been faring well. I love earrings as well. Especially now that they are designing fun statement earrings that are so lightweight. Now I want to get some more. 😉
Author
Yes I love the light weighted ones too. I miss your blog posts!
I’m a fan of earrings too and wear them everyday! I don’t really have an organization system. My jewelry box is a mess! Your new dainty earrings are lovely!

Haha, that’s cute, “the girl with all the earrings”! I need to wear light ones these days, too. The gold ring ones you chose are so pretty and go so well with your other ones. They have a simple, elegant look to them.
Author
Haha, and a few pearl ones! Thank you very much Kim!
Such great earrings! Loving the designs and colors!

You know I love my earrings Nancy! I do feel weird when I don’t have any on when going out. I don’t wear heavy earrings either, as I have a tear in one ear from wearing hoops as a teenager. Love your selection, the tassles and statement earrings. Your elegant delicate earrings you received are lovely.
Have a great weekend!

But they are good!
Ooo you’ve got quite the selection of earrings! They are definitely a beautiful accessory. I love earrings and used to wear them a lot. I have stopped wearing them since my son was born and have not gotten back to it. I kind of like not wearing any jewelry. Is it bad?

No it’s not bad at all. It would be bad if you would wear things you don’t feel comfortable in!
I have a weird history with earrings where I had my ears pierced very young then I was teased by some kids in elementary school because I wore earrings that were made out of buttons. It upset me so much that I didn’t wear earrings again until about halfway through high school. I do love earrings now though. All kinds. Tiny ones, dangly ones, sparkly ones, statement ones. I let all of the extra piercings that I once had close up and I kind of regret it. Great post!

Yes, you do know a woman who doesn’t wear earrings: me 🙂 lol. Well, I used to wear them, and had my ears pierced in the late 1970s. My punk years. I wore them well into the 1980s and then for some reason I stopped wearing them, and now my ears are no longer pierced. I used to wear clip-on earrings for a while, and have quite a few pairs which I picked up at flea markets, but I do no longer feel comfortable wearing them. Well, I do wear any other kind of jewellery! When I see all the lovely earrings for sale, I am a bit sorry though. Love the selection of earrings in your last photo but one! xxx
Author
I never noticed that you don’t wear earrings. You wear enough lovely accessories!
I love earrings too, especially hoops! My only requirement is that they’re lightweight, because I have teeny-tiny earlobes 😉

Yes and it looks ugly when they hang. The heavy ones. But I still wear them.
Nancy, you need to organize your earrings, girlfriend! Those are a mess! A cheap and easy way to do it, especially if you can’t be bothered to hang them on a mesh/frame type of thing (I’ve seen bloggers use this), is to use ice-cube trays. You can put 2 pairs per “cube” and they can be stacked for easy perusal. Better than jumbled in a box, even if you are putting them back on their cards every time you take them off.
I love big earrings! I don’t feel dressed unless I have a pair of earrings on. I’ve always gravitated to big and/or dangly earrings. I have 3 holes on each side, and one up high through the cartilage of my right ear (I never change it). My original holes were done with the “gun” with my mom in 1980, followed by the 2nd holes in 1981 with my best friend at the time (we had to get notes from our moms!). I had the 3rd/upper piercings done about 5 years ago, done by a proper piercer, with the tube-needle. I’m thinking about getting a couple more…
Thank you so much for the link-up!

Ha what a fabulous idea! I am going to order a few right now! I would love to have more piercings in my ear but the 5th ones hurt so much that I never did!
Oh they have nice earrings. Thank you for introducing.
You have wonderful earrings in your earringbox Nancy ?
Author
I know you have too!
Statement earrings are my favorite especially in the summer because I don’t want to wear necklaces as much. I love how there are so many lightweight ones now.

Yes I love that too, because when we were girls, the statement ones were so heavy!
I love earrings, too, Nancy, and I do feel naked without them! I got my ears pierced when I was about 13 by my girlfriend’s dad! With a really big needle! Haha! It’s also scary to remember that I pierced some of my friend’s ears numbing their ears with an ice cube and using a big carpet needle!!! Lol! Oh, my! Such memories!

Haha, yeah I remember that too, girlfriends did that, I never dared too!

Oh I saw a mail and thought who’s blog is that! But it’s you! Wonderful!
That’s a lovely collection of earrings Nancy! Can you believe I never wore earrings till my daughter got her ears pierced when she was 9? I finally got brave enough. Now I have a fabulous collection and I feel naked if I don’t wear earrings. I’ve been wanting to do a post about earrings. Ever since I have a dressing room I got super organized. Before that everything was in boxes and drawers, now I have lovely displays that I can see everything and easily choose which ones to wear. 🙂
Happy weekend!

Such a gorgeous collection of earrings. I have got a far more limited one, but the ones I have I am very happy with. Many of them have emotional value and that is something so special. I just love that!

Yes I have a few of those too, most are gifted by Gerben.
I love earrings and have lots of them. I stopped wearing them when Isobel was born because babies tend to grab them, but now I wear them most days. Mine get all jumbled up just like yours…however many times I organise them!
