We are definitely in the summer mood with a theme like tropical paradise! Are you in one right now perhaps? Or are you, like me, thinking of something totally different then holidays and gorgeous resorts if you hear the words tropical paradise?
Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features pre loved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling pre loved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand.
Tropical paradise coctail!
That’s what I represent today! Lol. I shall explain. Years ago we went to Ibiza every year with friends. And in the evenings we always drank the Mediteranee there, a cocktail of pina colada with pineapple juice. Every evening my girlfriend and I were looking forward to drinking that delicious cocktail! And we drank a lot of those!
We often made it ourselves afterwards at home! And look, today I am the pineapple! The green top is pre loved, bought at Vinted. Beautiful color huh. I really liked the whole color combination of my outfit! Let’s take a look at my fashion friends.
Bring out the tropics girls!

I found this green slip dress with a big bold tropical floral print during a winter thrifting adventure so this is the first chance I am getting to wear it. It had ties on the sides to cinch the waist except the ties were oddly placed on the hips. So I cut them off and tied them in my hair! I styled it with a non-thrifted kimono and platform espadrille sandals for an easy breezy summer look.

Paradise under grey skies…
This month’s Thrifty Six theme is ‘Tropical Paradise’…
…immediately I reached for these 1970’s palazzo pants in all the vibrant colours of a parakeet!
Styled with vivid yellow and opulent turquoise, it’s a dangerously intense look…
…on a sunny day it’s nothing less than resplendent!
I wanted sunshine for my pictures; I waited and I waited but it never came so here I am on this cloudy day…
…still smiling as my outfit radiates ‘Tropical Paradise’ even though the skies are grey…

I bought this kimono jacket on eBay years ago but rarely wear it. I don’t know why because it feels so comfortable and I love the tropical print. I will challenge myself to find more ways to wear it over the summer!

What a fun challenge! You look lovely in these colors.
Love these tropical vibes! Your look is perfect for evoking that cocktail! I would love to have one now. Lol!
Haha, and me!!
Some fun tropical prints here! It’s not warm enough on the west coast of Canada yet for me to wear all my tropical prints! Jane’s big pants are my favourite look.
Such a fun interpretation, Nancy! I was completely confuzzled when I saw your look! But, the pineapple story made it make perfect sense!!! Very creative!! I would love to go to Hawaii some day, but I fear that isn’t going to happen. Ah, well! We can dream
And we should dream! Thanks Marsha!
I love how your shoes reflect the green of the top. A fun take on the theme!
Nancy, I absolutely love that your look was inspired by a tropical cocktail and pineapples! What a fabulous color combination and an even more fabulous outfit!
Now who would’ve thought to be inspired by the drink and pineapple??? Gosh I love this look Nancy,
OH what a fun theme! I love all these takes on it too.
You ladies are definitely giving off tropical–vacation vibes. Yes please! I want one of those Mediteranees!
I love these colours, it’s definitely a very tropical combination!
A pina colada with pineapple juice sounds so refreshing! You do look very pretty in these colors.
Thank you Carrie!
I love this memory, Nancy! What a great time you must have had with your girlfriend in Ibiza. And yes, your outfit looks like a pineapple. What a great color combination. I love the way your shoes match your top. Perfect.
I love that matchy matchy too, thanks Michelle!
Nancy how fun to get the back story to how you came up with the styling- love that! I’m in love with that flowy silk skirt- gorgeous!
