Sometimes you see, with me that is often on Pinterest, an outfit and then you think: I’m going to try that too. That’s what happened with this cardigan over a hoody outfit. Usually that is a outfit that is not my style at all, but that I really like. It often happens that I am pleasantly surprised when I try the outfit. I also had that with wearing a sweater over a dress. I’m a big fan of that now! I like it better when I can wear dresses without a sweater, but I can’t control the weather. My outfits I can! And besides that this is a wonderfully relaxed, sporty outfit, it is of course super warm.
Cardigan over a hoody
I don’t like to wear a hoody at all. First because of the style, it’s sporty. And I only want to wear sporty clothing when I work out. By the way, I always wear a hoody when working out. And second because my hair always gets in the way of the hoody. Don’t like that. When I work out I never let my hair loose. To irritating.
But I loved this look instantly when I saw it on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. At first I wanted to wear this hoody, but that one is to bulky. So I am wearing the hoody that I wear when I am working out at home. The one I use at the gym is a black one. All the clothes I am wearing here are shopped from my closet.
Sporty look wearing a hoody
At fist I thought of wearing biker boots under this outfit but I changed my mind and chose for flat high boots. I always have the habbit of ,hanging, in pockets. I really should not put my hands in them. It looks stupid. Anyway. For a sporty look I don’t wear a lot of accessories, as if I normally do….. So a leopard print belt and matching earrings. A Christmas gift from Gerben a few years ago. Gerben has a very good taste for earrings. And a black pre loved statement ring bought in Lewes.
I really liked wearing this outfit, Gerben liked it too. Perhaps with sneakers the next time. But it felt good and I love the layers. Do you get inspired by Pinterest? I don’t spend much time on it, perhaps 10 minutes a month or so. But sometimes it can be fun to try something that is out of your comfort zone. And then Pinterest is a good one to get inspiration from. So, do you like the cardigan ove a hoody look?
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

Indeed! Like the sweater over dress look. Never tried it and when I finally did I really loved it. And it made me wear a summer dress more often in autumn.
This is such a cosy look and I think it would look nice with sneakers, but I love the boots with it! It’s always good when you get inspired to try something and end up loving the combination! 🙂
Thank you for the link up!

Indeed Mica! You often be surprised! Thanks hun.
Nice casual look! The long hoody looks very cosy. I use Pinterest a lot but not for fashion inspo, except for what I see from retailers.

Thanks Gail!
Nancy, this is a super cute outfit! I love the long denim skirt. I also enjoy wearing hoodies under other layers, but you definitely do have to watch the bulkiness of the hoodie. I sometimes go for tee shirt material hoodies for layering. I have not been on Pinterest in a really long time. Maybe I should go have a scroll for some kind of inspiration! You look fabulous as always, my friend!

Thank you very much! I don’t look at Pinterest that much, most social media really bore me.
This is a great look, I really like a hoodie layered. Haven’t tried this combo yet – very nice!
Have a good weekend my friend!

What a cute, original idea. Love it! I so agree with you on hair getting caught in hoodies. I actually cut my hair a little shorter this winter because I wanted to wear hoodies and my hair kept bunching up in them.

So you know exactly what I mean indeed! Thanks Amy!
I really like the outfit too, Nancy! I wouldn’t have thought to wear a long cardigan over a hoodie but it looks great. I’m tempted to try it but my hoodies are all really bulky. I shall have to look out for a slimmer fitting one!
I like to look at Pinterest for outfit ideas but I haven’t been on for a while. Lately, it’s all about looking at house ideas!

You can get inspired for that too on Pinterest! And indeed, you can’t wear a bulky on under a cardigan.
I love that skirt on you!

Oh that’s fabulous! I am very happy too wit the way this outfit turned out!
My gosh, this is such a clever idea. I really love it. Have seen cardis with sweatshirt-type hoods attached but haven’t found one locally to buy. Your trick makes this possible with the pieces I already have. Truly love this whole look for the transition weather between winter and spring. Yes, try it with tennies!!
You mentioned Pinterest. I just wrote about using it on my blog. Will link up with you. I still enjoy looking at ideas and pretty images on Pinterest and pinning them. Making a crockpot of Pinterest chili today for dinner.

Better nowadays then Instagram for inspiration right?
This certainly looks like a cozy outfit, Nancy! I used to wear hoodies sometimes, but now I don’t think there’s even one in my wardrobe.
How gorgeous are the matching belt and earrings, though! Wonderful!
Oh, and I am always shoving my hands in pockets as well. Never thought it might look stupid, but perhaps it does.
But isn’t that what pockets are for 🙂 xxx
Author
I can’t imagine you wearing a hoody! Yes that’s what pockets are for, but I ,,hang,, in them, lol.
Somehow you manage to make a sweatshirt look chic! Love this cosy layered outfit on you Nancy. Playing with inspiring ideas is so much fun, and sometimes you can really be happily surprised by the outcome! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the link up!

Oh thank you Di, that makes me smile!
Ive been tempted lately to get a longer jean skirt. Love this one on you and the hoodie with the long cardi does look like a great combination. I am like you, I typically go for a sporty look when I work out! 😉

Yes you should! Apart that they are very trendy at the moment, they are always great to wear!
I love how you tried this, Nancy, and I would totally copy this. It’s fun to layer the things you don’t think to layer.
I can see the thing about the hair and the hoodie, so why not put it up for the photos?? I don’t remember seeing your hair up before (maybe I have a bad memory?)

Hi, Nancy – I love this outfit! I’m not sporty either. But I like the long duster cardigan over the hood. And I like the the denim skirt, too, instead of jeans. Thanks for the inspo – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com

What a fun idea! I like it much better than I thought I would when I read your headline. LOL! Seriously, it looks warm, but still stylish. I think that’s one of my biggest struggles when it’s cold – being warm enough and yet still looking nice. This is a great idea! I love Pinterest. Although I’ll admit I’m usually looking at quilts. I need to try looking at fashion too.

I really like this look, Nancy! It’s more chic than sporty to me! Maybe it’s the black boots that do it. I don’t know, but you look fabulous. And, I have never used Pinterest for outfit ideas…I don’t have time because I would just keep clicking!
Thanks for the link party!
