Here I am again with a black outfit. A belted blazer look. What can I say, I just love it to much! But I sprinkled a lot of gold through it to make the outfit more interesting and warmer. All the items that I wear here have already been shown and also a few years old, except for the blazer but it is pre loved so in fact it is older. I saw this look on Pinterest, a pleated skirt with a belted blazer. Great inspiration platform!
Belt your blazer when the color doesn’t stand out
So I saved it because I knew I wanted to wear this look. But if I don’t save it I won’t remember anything. Really very annoying. Sometimes I’m in the shower and then suddenly a theme or a nice title for the blog pops into my mind and then I think, I have to remember that. Yes of course, that really doesn’t happen….
But this one I did remember because I saw myself wearing it the next day. I love a belted blazer look as you can see in the link. That blazer is replaced for this one. The old blazer was so much worn and washed that it didn’t look that good anymore. And so I got this one, pre loved. Love the simplicity of this blazer. No pockets, just one button, nothing else. Good tailoring and good shoulders. Does it need anything else!
Add some interest to a black outfit
I am wearing a black sheer blouse with little golden hearts in it and a camisole with gold treads in it. I am wearing the camisole over the blouse to add a little more interest. To belt the blazer I used a big leather belt with a gold buckle. And I added a lot, to me, golden accessories. Black and gold is such a stunning combination. Always have loved it.
Shop the belted blazer look!

LOVE Black on Black and your Beemer is beautiful. I drive an Audi and we are HUGE lover of foreign vehicles.

I looked for a Audi too, that was one of the options. Our previous car was a Mercedes, it was a great car but I wanted a more sportive car!
I absolutely love blazers but I have never belted mine. Thank you for the inspiration!

My pleasure! I love to belt cardigans too!
Game changer with the belt!

We make the best of it( which really means there is a lot of food and drinks involved) Have a great weekend too Gail!
Blazers are so much more flattering when belted I think. A great look Nancy. And you’re not the only one that has ideas and then forgets! xx

Haha, I am glad too! So irritating, have to write everything down these days! Blame it on menopause!

Nancy, this outfit is amazing! I love the belted blazer paired with the pleated skirt. I have tried to belt blazers and it just doesn’t seem to work on me. I also really love the way you layered the camisole over your blouse. It really does add an extra bit of interest. You look fabulous! I chuckled a bit about the part where you think of things in the shower and then have to write them down. I do my very best thinking in the shower and if I don’t write it down immediately all those good ideas go right down the (shower) drain (literally)! Have a great weekend, my friend!

Haha, yeah indeed! Out of the brain drain into the shower drain!
Ha! That’s a good one! I like it!

This is a GREAT look Nancy! It wouldn’t look nearly as good if the blazer had pockets (as I’m realizing most of mine do). That outfit with the boots would totally work during the winters we have round here.
Author
Indeed, it looks better without pockets! Thank you very much!
You look so sassy in your photos! That belted blazer looks amazing! Enjoy your weekend!

Great outfit, Nancy! Black and gold together is so timelessly chic. Love the addition of the wide belt over your jacket-it is such a great silhouette. Hope you have a nice weekend and thinks for the link up!

Thank you very much Di. I wanted to comment on your blog but could not find a section for it. Also not for a subscription!
I’m having ideas for the blog in the shower, and other unlikely places too. Or just when I’m about to drop off in bed. I always think I’ll remember but I never do! But enough about that: in spite of the fact that this is an almost all black outfit, I think it really stands out. Not sure if it is the belt that does it, but it certainly helps. I love the pleated skirt and the little gold details in your blouse. A true classic! xxx

I am so glad I am not the only one! haha. Thanks, I love a classic look. I like to think that my style is classic with a modern twist.
A totally fabulous look, Nancy! The wide belt was a stroke of genius.

I had to laugh – I am wearing a belted blazer over a long skirt right now! I’ll be posting in a few hours, when I get home from work. I love a belt over a blazer – it’s such a chic look.
Black and gold – so 80s! Love it, Nancy! You look great in this. Thank you so much for the link-up party!

Black outfits look so good on you! I have not tried to belt my blazers but I love how it looks on you! The layering is lovely and I love the tall black boots worn with this. I have been “shopping my closet” and not bying much as of late too

Thank you very much Jess! I never buy much in the first months of the year. Although I usually catch up in March, lol!
Adding the belt was genius, Nancy, and makes the whole outfit work. Great idea! I come up with so many ideas for posts in the shower, in the car, in the middle of the night. And do I remember them later? Nope! I can totally relate. Have a great weekend, my friend.

Haha, Amber just said that we are just to busy! Haha, that sounds better then to blame it on the age thing!
This belted blazer look is so polished, Nancy! I really like how you styled it with a pleated midi skirt and boots for a winter layered look. Also, I totally have to save outfit ideas or I forget them too. I’d like to think it’s just because we are all so busy with a million things on our minds all the time. =)
I hope you are having a great week!
