The days are getting shorter and colder. Time to get our blazers out of the closet!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Blazers!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
This pink plaid blazer is definitely a good buy. I saw Andrea of Living on Cloud Nine wearing this exact blazer from Kohl’s last year and I had to go get it for myself. I just love the colors and the fit.
Also, I am including Radical Ralphie’s good buy blazer for your post, too. Ralphie’s seersucker blazer was a consignment store find last year and only cost me a few dollars of my consignment store credit (so basically it was free). I think it was a great buy (free) even though he has only worn it a few times for special occasions when a young boy would wear a blazer. I will pass it on to the next stylish kid once Ralphie outgrows it. But I think we will still get another year out of it.

It’s a Good Buy, but not my good buy! It was a gift, but I’m counting it anyway. I wept when my old white blazer came back from the cleaners all dingy and dark, and despaired of finding a new one, but then Santa brought this and left it under the tree last year. Thank you, Santa! I LOVE the ¾ sleeves, and the black trim keeps it looking sharp. It has that luxury feel and makes me feel like a million bucks whenever I wear it. My favorite way to style it? With jeans, of course!
Darlene of Aqua Marina Style
I picked up this plaid blazer at last year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so it was a good buy! I love the indigo blue with pink stripes. I can wear it with jeans or dress pants and it looks good both ways. Can’t beat a blazer for instant style, right?
Jacqui of Mumma B Stylish
I’ve sorted through and found a photo the blazer challenge.
I topped this floral dress with a beige blazer – this is a brilliant asset to my wardrobe and I’ve worn it loads since I found it in the Wallis sale.
Catherine of Not Dressed As lamb
My longline camel blazer has been one of the best basics I’ve ever bought for my wardrobe – I’ve brought it out every autumn, winter and spring for the last six years so it was a very Good Buy!
Laura of I Do de Claire
This coral blazer was a very good buy! I bought it in the first few months after starting this blog and it has serious staying power in my closet. The bright color is fun to add to spring and summer outfits especially!
Kellyann of This Blondes Shopping Bag
This is one of two of my favorite new blazers. I think they’re classic and I’ll wear them with everything!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
Actually I didn’t even buy this blazer. My cousin gave it to me, but I just love it!!! Right now in my life, my favorite thing is pairing them with graphic tees!! And this one is bright enough to make any day a good day.
And finally my Good-Bye blazer!
Well not really, but it wasn’t a Good Buy either. Don’t know why not. I mean the leather is so soft, the color is beautiful. But it feels like a men’s blazer somehow. It’s not feminine enough! Well, I will hold on to it, I might like it in a few years or so!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
October’s theme will be: Camo!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to info@nancysfashionstyle.com

Oh you all are making me think I must add at least one blazer to my wardrobe! These are all so stylish.
Author
Yes you should! Haha, and buy one in a color you love, not perse black!
There are so many beautiful blazers here! I am loving all the brightly colored statement blazers like Jodie’s green one and Laura’s coral one! They are all so good! I am excited for next month’s camo theme! That should be a fun one!

I think so too, because just like kimonos we don’t see much camo around here!
Loving all these chic blazers! So glad it’s finally getting cooler to wear them.

Such great blazers! May I suggest you wear your Goodbye blue blazer with a very feminine top and see if that makes it more for you.

Oh of course! That is a good one. Somehow I only wore this one on trousers, while I don’t even like to wear trousers! Oh I am all exited now to find the perfect skirt or dress in my closet! Thanks!
And there I was wondering if a blazer – I have loads of them! – can ever be but a good buy! I do understand your issues with yours though. It would indeed have been better if it was more fitted. You’re right to hold on to it, though. A soft-as-butter leather jacket is too good a thing to be a goodbye! xxx
Author
I guess you are right, it should be more fitted! I know I will love this one again!
Oh, next month theme is for me: have lots of camo! I think blazers was a cool theme, it shows how no two blazer is alike. Love that white and black trimmed one!

Thanks Heather!
I may just have fallen in love with Ralphie! Love everyone’s blazers, but then again I’m awfully democratic in my blazer love. I’m tempted to ask for your good-bye blazer, Nancy!
Author
My Good Buy one is on Shelbee’s blog! Yeah Ralphie is cute hey!
Ooh, what a lovely selection of fun and colourful blazers! I am a huge blazer fan, and sorry that I missed on sending you some pics, Nancy. I think your leather one is amazing – keep it, even if it feels like a masculine style! That style can actually really accentuate one’s femininity.
Camo – how fun! I have an Autumn Camo dress that would fit this challenge…if I can get my closet swapped over in time!
Author
Haha, you’re swapping over takes months! Find that dress!.lol
Nancy, I love your leather blazer! It looks great with the olive pants. Thanks for including my photo with all these stylish ladies —like you!
