I found two very nice items on the second-hand site. A super nice, simple, wool sweater from Essentiel Antwerp and this super cool snakeskin print blouse from Zara. Oversized, so perfect to wear with your leather trousers. Or faux leather like me of course.
Snakeskin print blouse on (faux) leather
I don’t buy real leather because I can never really wear it at home. I have a very white interior, white leather corner sofa and white leather dining room chairs. When I sit on it with leather, or faux leather, it is immediately black and that really can’t be cleaned. Trust me, been there, done that! So investing in nice quality leather pants is not for me. And I have also a bit of a issue with animal welfare.
I rolled the trousers a bit up because I don’t like long trousers. I like them cropped! And I left a bit of skin to be seen between the trousers and the booties to break up the look a bit.
Oversized snakeskin print blouse on leather trousers
But so this blouse. I’m not usually into oversized clothing, but I was looking for something to wear on these trousers. And I’m going to buy a new pair of jeans, yes you read that right, and that will also be a tight design. No, I am not suddenly a fan of jeans, but my old one is really ugly now. And I find a pair of jeans easy. Just one pair is enough for me. I wear jeans about four times a year I think, and my denim culottes a bit more.
I wear suede wedged ankle boots under these trousers, looks better than leather, in my eyes. These are very old, I think about 8 years. Bought them at Tango, which was a very trendy shoe brand. But it doesn’t exist anymore, what a shame. And I am wearing statement loop earrings and my Michael Kors bracelets. I could wear a black blazer on it but the weather didn’t require that, so I enjoyed not layering for a change.

A really cool outfit, Nancy! I don’t require leather either. I have one leather purse and I expect it to last me the rest of my life. I bought it because the tooling was a work of art. Also, while I want to look nice, I don’t want to be uncomfortable. I don’t own a single pair of jeans – unless you count my jeggings – for that reason.

No it isn’t. We are looking for a new car and saw a perfect one but it had white leather seats, no no, not gonna do that!
I cannot believe that you found that blouse on the second hand site! It is terrific and I love it with the leather trousers. What a great look, Nancy! Hope you have a good weekend!

Faux leather is so good nowadays it’s hard to tell the difference I think. Great finds Nancy. Have a lovely weekend xx

Indeed, so why buy real leather then hey. Have a good weekend Laurie!
I still can’t get over the fact that you only own one pair of jeans… and wear them so infrequently! I don’t think a single week goes by that I haven’t worn jeans. I think your outfit looks great! That oversized blouse perfectly compliments those fitted pants.
Author
Haha, I just don’t like them that much. They always feel so boring to me.
Rather glam, Nancy. And you are looking quite different too. Whatever it is…. you are looking good xx

Thank you very much!
Oh I love the look you’ve created Nancy – love the pleather leggings! Agree with you 100% over not buying real leather. I have too many jeans so you’ve only got one pair? Wow! Yes, do buy another! Have a great weekend xxx

That is exactly what I did with my pants today to leave some space between them and my booties. Love how the different textures/pattern work together in your outfit.

Haha, I need to. It is annoying when there is a spot, can’t stand it!
I’m usually not a fan of oversized garments either – been there, done that in the 80s and 90s – but this snake print blouse is an absolute delight! I love how you styled it on your faux leather trousers and those ankle boots are gorgeous too! Can’t wait to see the Essentiel Antwerp sweater! xxx

Thanks Ann, I will wear it soon, it’s kind of a basic sweater.
I love the snakeskin blouse, Nancy – it’s very rock & roll! Yeah, baby! I prefer leather (I have 3 pairs of leather trousers, most of which I’ve found second-hand) over faux, myself, but I hear you on all that white! I think I would have kept the pants long, as my eye goes right to that glimpse of skin, and it chops your leg-line. However, you still are a badass (I mean that in the BEST way), and you’re rocking this!
Thank you so much for the link-up and for inspiring everyone to be fancy! You’re the best. 🙂 Have an awesome weekend, my dear friend.

Thank you very much dear Sheila. I never like my trousers long, only have cropped ones.
I really think we have much in common with our thoughts and values regarding fashion, pre-loved, older stuff, animal products and jeans! The pants look great on you and I love the way you’ve styled them with the snake skin top!! I can’t join linkups for some reason … locked out but thank you for running it!

Oh! Why is that? What a pity!
I really like how you rolled up the pants a bit to show some leg Nancy. And those pants are fabulous. I never thought about how real leather would act like that…luckily there is so much of the faux leather available.

That snakeskin blouse is lovely. I like that you broke the pants and the boots with that sliver of skin. Well done! Zara has fabulous pieces. =)
