Our holiday is over and normal life has begun again. Although we had more of the idea that we had a winter holiday, we really enjoyed it! It was at least dry when we cycled. I let go of blogging completely, which was actually quite nice, and I guess necessary. I have read and shared your blogs but not commented. That saved me a lot of time. I hope you don’t blame me for that.
Our holiday in The Netherlands
- Cycling in Friesland, so quite!
- On the bicycle ferry, in winter coat!
- Our hotel dinner, at our roo.
- Desert!
We had a two week holiday and in the first week we went to Friesland for a few days! We had rented a very small cozy house there in the middle of a meadow. And we cycled a lot for two days through the most beautiful nature areas! And lunched outside and even eaten outside in the evening! How lucky, when a lot of rain was forecast during our holiday! At home we went to the sculpture garden at the Hoge Veluwe National Park! Well between the showers, but also enjoyed a day outside and a delicious lunch! The other days, in the weekend, we didn’t do much, just a bit around the house enjoying our free time. We didn’t want to go anywhere in the weekends, as it is so busy already everywhere.
- Soto Ajam in the sculpture garden, the best I ever eaten!
- Sculpture of gold.
- And my favorite one.
- Love a black outfit.
The second week we went to a hotel by the sea, also for a few days. We took, just like the week before, our own bicycles and cycled three days in the dunes. Never seen such wide dunes, about 10km. We even had lunch at the beach! Dinner was served at the hotel room as restaurants aren’t open here yet. Did I tell you that I had my first vaccine! Gerben is the one, of our friend group, who is ready now! He had his one last Saturday and he had Janssen, so only one jab!
Looking forward to the next one
- Kite srfer at the beach where we had lunch.
- Pancake with bacon on our cycling tour in the dunes.
- Wild horses in the dunes.
- The dunes near Wijk aan zee
Last Friday we went to a test center, where you can try all kind of bicycles. I want another one because my battery is old and I only can cycle about 50km with mine. And that is just a little bit to less. We often cycle about 50km and I don’t want the stress of the battery run down while we are not at home yet!
Last Sunday was the first very sunny and warm day and I enjoyed the hole afternoon in the garden reading! Gerben grilled a chicken and we sat outside the hole evening. A perfect ending of our vacation. It wasn’t spectacular, our vacations never are, but we enjoyed the relaxed time together a lot!
- Lunch at the beach.
- My new dress.
- And another new one.
- Last day of our holiday.
So that was a bit about our holiday. Back to normal life again, back to blogging, back to working out! In September we have again two weeks off and I hope so much that we can go to the UK then! It’s all going in the right direction now here! I hope where you live too!
Have a great week all!
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!

Thank you Laurie! I guess I needed it!
I think those both sounds like fabulous holidays! We just returned home from a mini 4 day/ 3 night stay in the mountains where we hiked a lot between the rainstorms and enjoyed not cooking!
Author
Yes I also like the not cooking thing, although I do like to cook!
I enjoyed tagging along on your holiday: you visited some pretty spots! And the food looked delicious! We have booked a 2 night weekend for mid month and am looking forward to it.

What a fabulous time Nancy. I’m glad you took a break from blogging. It’s a lot of work and people don’t realize!! But we need the break for sure!!!

Welcome back Nancy! I’ve been thinking of you, and hoping that you were having decent weather in your holidays, so I’m glad to see some blue skies and sunshine in your photos! Yay on getting your first vaccine – I will get mine on Friday!
Seeing all that glorious food is making me quite hungry even if I’ve already had dinner 🙂 Your sculpture park looks amazing – we went to ours this morning. One day, I hope to visit yours! xxx

Thanks Claire!
Welcome home!! So glad you set blogging aside while you were on vacation. It is much more of a vacation when you don’t have deadlines and schedules to follow.
I saw the geometric pink dress on my phone but had to get a better look on my laptop. I think it is just stunning. And I really like that shade of pink on you. Hope you will wear it often and always in good health.
Wondered if you kids took your own bikes on holiday. That would be fun!! To stay at a countryside or beachside spot and bike all around. I am just terrified to ride on busy streets in our city, though. So have very little space nearby where I can bike without concern for traffic. Hope you find the perfect new bike!!

Thanks Leslie, yes with our own bikes! I don’t like to cycle in busy areas, we always look up the quite places!
