What fashion item reflects more to this season then a blue and white striped skirt. It immediately reminds you of the French Riviera, not that I have ever been there, boat trips on a hot summer day, etc. Can you imagine it? Years ago I had an almost same skirt, also from the same brand, but the other way around. Blue with white stripes. What strikes me, incidentally, is that every time I tell you that I don’t wear something, I suddenly wear it a lot. Like a white skirt or trousers and blouses.
How I style my striped skirt
This skirt is very stretchy and a bit thicker material. With a slit on the side. A little scuba-like material. But it creases a bit more. Pre loved, but new and for a bargain price! That’s how we love it! I wanted to wear it with some other print and then I thought that blue white and brown would look so good together. At first I wanted to wear these sandals under the skirt, which would have looked good too, but I wanted ankle boots. And with ankle boots a long cardigan is the perfect cherry to the cake.
Polka dot blouse to follow the trend
Not that I follow trends, I pick from it what I like. I set my own trends. But polka dots are huge at the moment. Aren’t they each spring? This top is from last year, a Primark buy, and yes the second season for this top! Polka dots always sweeten a outfit I think. They give a look a girly vibe. Such a jolly good print. And polka dots love stripes!
For accessories I am wearing a plastic white bracelet with a white statement ring and a dark blue statement ring. And white blue striped earrings. I am ready for a holiday!…….Oh wait….we haven’t got one. Well perhaps in the first week of September. Let’s keep our fingers crossed right!
Shop the striped skirt look!

Thanks Kathrine, I love them too and they fit with everything!
How I adore stripes and polka dots! Love the skirt, Nancy, it’s gorgeous. And the fact you teamed it with ankle boots is perfection.
Thank you very much Suzy!
I wish I could see close-ups of your jewellery. Always sounds so interesting, but cannot always see. 🙂 Great idea, stripes and dots.
Thanks, normally they are a bit better showed. I will think about that.
🙂 Combining stripes and polka dots is still somewhat unusual, but it’s a fun look!

What a delightful combination. I love it. Thanks for hosting the #linkup too. Jacqui x
This is beautiful Nancy, and I love that you wear things you wouldn’t have in the past. That’s me lately too!!
We are getting more and more creative Jodie! Such fun!
I always love stripes and polka dots together. I always think of stripes as a neutral! These colors go so well together, too! Have a wonderful weekend!
This is one of my favorite styles of skirts! This outfit is so creative and I love it: blue cardigan ties in with skirt, booties tie in with top!
I already admired your outfit on Instagram, so it’s lovely to see more of it here. That skirt is the epitome of Summer holidays. I once had a maxi dress in the same stripe. I love how you’ve done some pattern mixing here with the polka dot blouse. And that long navy cardigan is the perfect outer layer. I find myself drawn to longer cardigans lately. Wishing you a lovely weekend, with some nice weather! xxx
Thanks Ann, I think longer cardigans are much better then shorter ones on a skirt. On a dress I love shorter ones! Have a great weekend, it won’t be a sunny one but it still is a good temperature!
Love your stripes and polka dots! A fun outfit, Nancy! And as usual, you look fantastic!
Oh thanks Michelle!
Thanks for choosing my post, Nancy! I love the look. And funny how the article I linked up today is also about styling stripes. Great minds think alike 😉
Haha, that s great! But stripes are! Thanks hun!
I am loving that outfit, Nancy! It is VERY French! Yes, polka dots are always cute and I love your pattern mixing here. And the booties are the perfect final touch! Take care!
Thanks Darlene, have a great weekend!
I love the stripes and dots! Such a fun combo!
Jill – Doused in Pink
You have such a cute figure. No matter what you are wearing, you always look great. And everything always fits so well. I have a blue and white striped dress that I need to fish out of the closet this summer. I am really liking dresses with tennis this season and it would work very well with some white tennis shoes. That rusty, orange color in your blouse is lovely. Great pattern mixing my friend.
Thank you very much Leslie!
Love the striped skirt and the long cardigan. Rocking the short boots, too.
Thanks Mary Katherine! Have a good weekend!
I love your print mixing! They look so pretty! This is a wonderful outfit on you!
Thank you very much Laura!
Love the outfit Nancy (especially the stripes)!
I can totally imagine the French Riviera! I love the pattern mixing and I think the navy cardigan really pulls it all together.
Miles of smiles,
Thanks Grace! Have a great weekend!

Thanks Jess! It was a good one!
Lovely mix of prints! Blue and white stripes are great for Summer!
Stripes and dots look so nice together. Happy new week.
I love your stripes and polka dots – such a great print combination. I think summer has disappeared here in the UK – hope it comes back soon.
Yes here too, it’s dark and raining! Bleh!
First of all polka dots and stripes never go out of style – both classic prints. Secondly they always look great together. Hope you get to have your holiday soon, NANCY. =)
I brought back The Sunday Showcase, the first Sunday of each month. I would love for you to join it. Thanks. =) Enjoy your week!
