Snow White World – Throwback Tuesday #34

trousers in boots look

Last week we started with a snow white world. Saturday evening it started to snow and yes, on Sunday everything was white. Horrible. And cold, not normal. In any case, not normal for the Netherlands. It is also not normal that it stayed white for a week and a half!

Oh how I hate a snow white world

Gerben was off on Monday because he had worked on Saturday. But we couldn’t get out anyway. Gerben has been busy clearing a path to the front door and the letterbox. But after he had done that, it started to snow again and all his hard work was for nothing! I just went outside in the garden for like 15 minutes, it was very windy too. That is so super bad for my lungs.

Tuesday evening I had a Zoom appointment with the wonderful Sheila from Empemera. Gee, how great is that. That you know each other from blogging and can chat so nicely with each other. What a very nice, sweet, beautiful woman Sheila is. We talked for a hour and that wasn’t nearly long enough. It was so much fun to do this!

Enjoying the sun in the snow

The rest of the week I was busy with working out and blogging. And in the afternoon I went outside in the garden to get some fresh air for a while. I didn’t go to the gym last week because there was still so much snow everywhere. Way too dangerous on the bicycle. On Wednesday Denise came to say hello and we had a nice chat while enjoying a cup of tea. Dear girlfriends, how precious they are.

Towards the end of the week the sun started to shine in the afternoon and I even sat outside in the sun for half an hour a few times with my feet in the snow! ( not my bare feet of course!) The sun was actually quite warm. We didn’t do much during the weekend, Gerben also had to work a large part of the day on Sunday.

I ordered a Tripod, but after trying it out, I am returning it this week. I have to get it out of a room to take photo’s or make a video, and I don’t really feel like being busy with photos and Instagram all the time. Yes it is fun now, but when the weather is better I prefer to go outside! Enjoy reading, cycling, having lunch outside! How I am looking forward to that! Have a great week all!

I haven’t seen the snow in 30 years, ever since I came to Australia but I still remember the cold slushy mud under my feet :

We’ve had snow and cold temperatures as well. I usually hate it too, mostly because of my commute. Standing around waiting for buses that are late because of the snow isn’t fun at all. But now I was at home most of the time, and we went for lots of walks, as it was cold but sunny!
I can understand this not being the best weather for your lungs though!
How absolutely wonderful that you got to have a Zoom call with Sheila!
Spring won’t be long now 🙂 xxx

I am also looking forward to all of the spring and summer outdoor activities. The hubby and I were just talking about going on bike rides when the weather warms up. Picnics are one of my favorite things to do when the weather is pretty as well as eat on our porch. We actually had one evening last week when we were able to do that. Amazing. We will be buying a new table this spring though that actually fits all 6 of us.

I feel you on the snow and cold. We have over a foot of snow and it’s been below zero for several days. Love all the wildlife you see outside and so glad you socialize over zoom. That helps us get through!

I am definitely over the snow and subzero, frigid temperatures that we have had here. Spring cannot come soon enough! I hope that the weather improves for you. I am glad that you were able to see some friends and your cats are so cute! I hope that your day today is going well too. 🙂

Our son is dealing with his first snow now that he’s moved from Florida to Tennessee. It’s so dangerous and cars are piling up all the place. The best thing is to stay inside but I guess that gets old after awhile. I’m glad you were able to do a Zoom call and have a friend over – thank goodness for those social outlets!

I never cared for snow much until moving to Colorado. The snow is like powder and it never melts into the icy, muddy mess. And CO is the only place you’ll see people skiing in shorts, lol! Wishing some spring time your way! Love your brogues!

Gosh, it’s been crazy how everyone is getting snow…especially the places that don’t usually.
I am in love with that pink and grey outfit Nancy. And how wonderful to connect with Sheila!!

We had a little snow in London but it didn’t last for long. It was just inconvenient, with slippery pavements. I would have liked deep snow so we could make a snowman. The outfit in the top picture is great – I love pink and grey together. I’ve pinned it.

Hang in there Nancy! Spring is around the corner and hopefully sunshine as well. I hear you on the tripod, it’s helpful but at the same time it’s fun just to get outside. Also, isn’t blogging the best? Being able to connect with each other is what I enjoy the most.

I’m so glad we chatted on Zoom! It was so fun to talk to you in person! 🙂 Funny that none of our cats wanted to be around!
