It’s so nice that you’re back here to read another week in my life. I really appreciate that! Blogging is still my passion. For about 11 years now, I think. I still find it a shame that I don’t have anything left of my original blog. You see, I believe it was at the end of 2018, that I had to start a new blog because I had a seemingly bad hosting company that let me down. It’s a real shame, because I always enjoy looking back at old posts and photos. Not only blog photos, biiut also fromm holidays, day’s out etc. But anyway, we look forward and not backward! Although….. let’s take a look at what I did last week…..
*The featured photo is in the Eye360 in Brighton 2017. My father and I. He passed away 3 years ago and I still miss him so much.
Another week in my life
- The National Park on Sunday. I find nature so relaxing.
- And I wanted icecream so bad when we left the park.
- Can you see the blackbird on the left. It has a nest in our garden and he was picking worms. He also flies around with his mouth ful of blossom!
Saturday was actually too busy. I had resolved not to exercise. Because I had to make snacks for the evening in the afternoon, do my hair, and we were having visitors in the evening. But I hadn’t exercised on Monday either, Easter Monday, so I decided to do it anyway. You see, I tried…..I failed, lol. That was a bit too much, I was just dead tired in the evening. But it was fun! We played cards, I am very competitive with games. We lost twice though…..my brother-in-law keeps reminding me of that.
On Sunday we went to the national park and had a lovely walk (in my wheelchair). And in the evening we had a delicious dinner at home with a glass of wine. But since I hardly ever drink alcohol anymore, I was already half asleep on the couch after dinner. Monday, like all Mondays. That means I did too much again. I did trie by doing less laundry, but that really did not make the difference. It is difficult to cut back on your activities. So on Tuesday morning I started exercising quite tired, but it went pretty well. The physiotherapist said I was doing well because I was doing all my exercises again and also heavier than when I first came out of the hospital. Funny how you don’t see that yourself.
Doing less pays off, but do I like that?
- Wore this on Sunday to the park. Simple and warm it had to be.
- Denim dress on Thursday.
- Wednesday outfit.
The dining table was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but it didn’t. The oxygen supplier came with a new machine, the groceries were delivered, and I had a phone call with the doctor from the transplant team. He strongly advised me to start rehabilitation. To make it easier to get through the time I still have to wait for donor lungs. So I actually have no choice, since my own pulmonologist and nurse advised me to do the same. Terrible, just the thought of it. Three months as an inpatient, I don’t even want to think about it yet.
But I actually did very little on Wednesday, yet I was dead tired. But when I went to the gym on Thursday morning, I had quite a bit of energy, for me, that is. And the workout went really well. So yes, doing less is definitely better…but I hate it. Thursday afternoon Zoom with Shelbee, always so nice! And Friday cleaning day, yes, we’re keeping that going for a while… So that was another week in my life. Have a great weekend, everyone.
- Wore this on Saturday. Jack and Castor.
- Happy me at the gym.
- Lunch on Thursday. A bit of everything. Boiled egg, Asian meatballs, salad with tomato.
And now it is time to join a Fancy Friday Fashion party!
Every Friday you can put your blog, or social media account, in the spotlights and meet other bloggers. Even if you’re not a blogger you can join! But it is a fun way to let others know about your blog posts, and to support each other. It would be nice if you would comment when you join the linkup party. I also pin my favourite on Pinterest.
My Fancy Friday Favourite of last week is: Sally of Within a World of My Own

I would also appreciate if you shared a link to Nancy’s Fashion Style in your post or give a little shout out on social media to promote the Fancy Friday linkup party! And now share your post!
By joining the Fancy Friday party, you agree to receive a weekly reminder email for the linkup party.

Well done Nancy, you’ve gently increased the activities while not overdoing it too much. The rehabilitation period does sound awful for someone as active as you, but will be worth it in the long term. Hope you have a good weekend.

I hope so Gail, lol. Thank you very much.
So glad are keeping up with working out even though it doesn’t feel great. I just threw out my back so I hate that I can’t do anything. Love the denim look. I also lost my dad and miss him so much. Sorry you lost your older blog posts. I will pray that rehabilitation will do what it needs to do to get you ready for the transplant.

I’m amazed you are so dedicated to your exercise, even the healthiest people struggle with that. Your outfits look fabulous. I too love getting out in nature.
So proud of you for continuing to work out!

I always enjoy our monthly Zoom chats! I am loving that denim dress that you wore on Thursday! I could only see the top of it during our Zoom. The lacy hem is just gorgeous! I know how terrible the thought of 3 months inpatient rehab is for you so I am hoping it goes quickly and that you are able to do it in the winter instead of summer. I do love your attitude to always look forward, not backward, but I also would be a little sad about losing those beginning years of blog posts. But you already have created eight more years of content since that happened, too! My first few years of blog posts are super cringey anyway so maybe a loss like that is actually a blessing in disguise. Haha. Wishing you a wonderful weekend, my beautiful friend!

Such a heartfelt post—thank you for sharing your week so honestly. I always enjoy these glimpses into your life, and your resilience really comes through. The photo with your father is so special, I can see why it means so much to you 💛 And it’s encouraging to hear how well you’re doing with your exercises, even when it doesn’t always feel like it. Sending you lots of strength as you navigate everything ahead.
Have a wonderful weekend! So, rehab would be inpatient for a whole 3 month! No coming home at all? I can see how you would not look forward to doing that. I hope you have a restful and fun weekend at the same time. I am not sure what we will do a part from working on getting little projects done.

I know what you mean about missing your old blog; while I didn’t lose any of my posts I did lose a huge chunk of photos from my early blogging days and while they were often admittedly awful, dark, poorly centered photos I still miss looking back and seeing them. I had no idea how much i would end up using my blog to look back and see what we did when! Yay for making progress; even if you weren’t the one that noticed it. Funny how that often happens to us isn’t it. We’re so focused on where we’d rather be that we don’t always notice those incremental steps to get there.
Really enjoyed reading this. It feels honest and real, especially the way you balance the busy days with the slower ones. The park walk, the gym progress, and even the tired moments all paint a proper picture of life as it is, not just the polished bits. I also liked the little details like the blackbird in the garden and the outfits through the week. And the part about doing less but still feeling exhausted, that is really me sometimes; it’s something a lot of people will understand even if they don’t always say it out loud.
Nancy, You have such an outstanding attitude! Three months of rehab in a facility does not sound fun, but getting closer to your goal would be worth it. Sending you healing and hoping you have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
