I already showed you this waistcoat worn with these wide black trousers, but I like it so much better on a skirt. I was a bit persuaded by all the great looking trendy outfits on Instagram, at the beginning of the year. Where young beautiful women wore a waistcoat and then of course looking super sexy in it. Of course not on me…… But I thought a waistcoat was kind a stylish. I also wasn’t happy with the closed waistcoat on the black trousers.
I like a waistcoat better on a skirt
So I started trying it out on different outfits to see how I could wear it in a way that I really like it. And this is it. Not with trousers at all, because then it becomes too masculine for me. But on a skirt and then also worn open. On a wide tiered dress it looks very good too! Also worn open on such a dress, or closed to show a bit more waist.
Often a outfit can look good in your head and then it doesn’t when you have it on, or the other way round. That’s what happened wearing it with trousers. I already assumed that my waistcoat was a Bad Buy, or as Shelbee and I say, a Good-Bye, but it was worth to give it a try. So a garnment can look bad on a certain item and look good on another. Just try different skirts, dresses trousers etc. You might be surprised. Just like me.
Waistcoat on a leopard print skirt
I love this skirt, a leopard print has always charmed my fashion heart. It is also the perfect length and I can cycle with it. Because then I just tie one side. Wrinkles won’t get in! How perfect is that. I already showed you my favourite outfit here. But I think this skirt comes second, also styled with a lot of black of course.
I could have worn my white sneakers here, and I do wear them a lot under this look. But I wanted to show you different shoes, because you all know that white sneakers look good under everything! So slippers it is! Aren’t these fabulous? Do you wear a waistcoat on a skirt?

Such a fabulous skirt. I can’t wear things like blazers or waistcoats because I also feel they look too masculine on me.
Author
You could try it over a dress too Amy!
Gorgeous skirt, so versatile!

Love the look, Nancy! Glad you didn’t give up on the waistcoat. This is great inspiration for possibilities other that the menswear look with trousers. A waistcoat is such a great layering piece for warmer weather, too. Hope you enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing!

Hahaha, it is Mireille. But it’s better then drugs right, lol.
Ooh, I do love leopard and pleats – that is a gorgeous skirt, Nancy! Happy to hear it’s a wrinkle-free one too, and that you can cycle in it. I love vests/waistcoats, as they help emphasize the waist while disguising the tummy or any bulges (plus, extra pockets, right?). This is a super look!
Author
Well, this one doesn’t have pockets, doesn’t disguise my tummy and doesn’t emphasize the waist. Lol. Stil loving it! Thanks Sheila.
Love how you styled the waistcoat with a skirt! Such a great outfit! Thanks for the link up and happy Friday!
