The weeks all look alike and it will continue that way for weeks! Just taking it easy as I still didn’t feel optimal last week. What a dip I had. Very tired and quite stuffy. Everything I do makes me out of breath and it frustrates me. I assume that it will be a lot better when the weather gets a little nicer and warmer. Btw, stuffy is what Google translated but it sounds weird to me. What I mean is that I was often out of breath, without even doing a thing.
Just taking it easy and keep on going
- Waiting at the optician. Can’t wait to show you my new glasses.
- Zoom with this fabulous woman! Shelbee!
- This is how they look when we are eating. Yes I mean at the same table…..
Tuesday I went to the optician to pick up my new oxygen glasses. I’m going to write a separate blog post about that. I had to wait a while before it was my turn and I watched all the people in the supermarket anonymous from behind my mask. I know a lot of people in our village and loved to see them without having to talk to them. Does that sound weird?
Wednesday I had a Zoom appointment with Shelbee! How is it possible that neither of us ever thought of doing that? It really was as if we had known each other for so long! Well, we actually do of course, but you know what I mean. How nice. An hour and a half had passed before we realized it. Awesome! Wednesday was also the day that we could vote for a new government!
On Thursday I had such a dip again that I slept on the couch in the afternoon. I hate that! And when I got a call from Gerben, who was on his way home, I was still tired. Gerben suggested that he would go and get Indonesian food from the Toko. Well that made me feel better. I would like to eat Indonesian food every day! Friday ….. yes you guessed it already? Cleaning day!
Nothing special to report, just my life
- I love these biker boots. And they are oooold!
- I made fishpie.
- And we had carrot cake on Saturday, not nearly as good as Nero’s in Hastings!
Saturday is always a day when Gerben does odd jobs around the house all day and I work out in the morning. In the afternoon I sat in the sun, the sun is already quite strong and warm. But if it went away for a while, you could feel the cold. Saturday evening was our wonderful snitch evening. Something tasty with our coffee, toast or snacks with a drink, delicious.
Sunday we went for a walk after an extensive and long breakfast. We try to go out every Sunday, even if the weather is not good, sitting at home all day is also not good. We walked for an hour and a half anyway. Back home we had dinner with a glass of wine. In the evening we watched Peaky Blinders and the second season of Broadchurch. I don’t know if I like Peaky Blinders. This week I have some nice things on the agenda and I hope that I will feel better. Have a nice week everyone.
- We had chocolate rolls on Sunday morning.
- We love birch trees!
- Sunday roast Dutch style.
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!
Sorry to hear you’ve had such difficulty with breathing and you’re right Google didn’t quite translate that one right as stuffy really refers to having a blocked nose where you can’t breathe but it sounds like that was not your issue. The food looks delicious and how fabulous to spend so much time chatting with Shelbee in semi- real life!

Thanks, yes stuffy already sounded strange to me. And I didn’t mean that. Thanks Joanne!
Love that you and Shelbee are zoom calling – it’s such a great idea to connect and much better than a phone call. Your new oxygen glasses sound terrific too and I’m glad you got them!
Have a good week Nancy – i hope you are able to get outside and enjoy some sunshine!

Oh yes, nothing wrong with my eating! Lol, thanks Kathrine!
Gimme all the chocolate rolls and Sunday roast. My PC isn’t big on roast and I miss it!!
Love the colors of your outfit and the fact you paired it with tennies. So chic and trendy at the
same time.

Thank you Leslie! Oh that is a pity that he doesn’t like it, we love it!
Hope you feel better very soon dear Nancy.

Thank you very much Yvonne, that is very kind of you.
I’m sorry to hear you had a dip and hope you’ll feel better soon. Spring is on its way and might certainly help in that way.
I know what you mean not having to talk to people and being at least semi-anonymous behind a mask. However, sometimes it can be frustrating, when you smile at people you would love to talk to and they do not recognize you š
I love the sight of your fish pie! And we too try to go out for a walk during the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday. Except when it’s raining, which it has done a lot this month already! Can’t wait to hear about your new glasses – and see them, of course! xxx

Oh that fishpie is so delicious and quite easy! And enough for two days! lol
All of that food looks delicious! I am glad that you were able to get outside over the weekend but I am sorry to hear that you were struggling. I hope that you are feeling better this week and that is exciting that you got to do a Zoom with a friend. Oh and that is also great about your new glasses! š

Thanks Caroline, yes to Zoom is really fabulous, I like it a lot!
So fun that you zoom with Shelbee! I didn’t really like Peaky Blinders and only watched a few episodes. Love your neutral outfit with the sneakers!

I thought everyone liked Peaky Blinders, glad to read I am not the only one who doesn’t!
Do you know that we really don’t have Indonesian food around here? In fact, I’d have to google it. I know I’d like it (because I like everything), but I’m feeling really left out at the moment,LOL

Hahaha, you should! But that is strange, perhaps you can find a cook book and try some making yourself!

Thank you very much, that is very kind of you!
I don’t think “stuffy” is the right word – that means that you’re congested in the nasal area, usually from a cold. I think “wheezy” would be more accurate. š
So cool Zooming with you and Shelbee – it’s amazing how the time flies! I have Peaky Blinders on my Netflix list, but it’s not really my kind of show.

Ah okay! Thanks Sheila. No it isn’t very realistic and sort of pseudo steampunk kind of thing. I will give it another chance on Sunday!
Sorry to hear you were having a tough time. I do love seeing your meals! That fish pie looks so good. And how awesome that you and Shelbee were on a video call! Thats so great!

Yes it was so amazing! We ,, work,, together for 5 years and know each other so well without even seeing in real life!
I recently Zoomed with Shelbee too! How fun! I love this technology. Iām sorry you are struggling with your your energy and breathing. I understand the frustration. Your cats are adorable! It took me awhile to get into Peaky Blinders, but I ultimately ended up enjoying as I got more familiar with the characters. Broadchurch is a good one too.

Oh I will! Thanks love!
I’m sorry about your breathing lately. I have asthma and it has been flaring up lately as it always does in the Spring. Your food photos always make me hungry and your cats on the table… so cute!

Oh do you, so you struggle to with breathing? I hope it goes well for you this spring!
Nancy, I had so much fun zooming away with you…twice! We definitely need to make this like a monthly thing! I am laughing so hard at your cats on the table because mine do the same thing! When I got my very first cat right after my divorce in 1998, I swore I would never let them on my tabletops or countertops. Hahahahahaha. How silly was I? You can’t control the cats! I watched the first two episodes of Peaky Blinders but it didn’t really interest me much either. Thanks for linking with me!
