There must be a first time for everything, including for wearing winter white. Well it is more winter cream but let’s just say this is my interpretation of winter white. Actually, I just wanted to wear this necklace and I started picking out the outfit with the necklace. When I saw this necklace I immediately thought, oh yes, it can go with so many browns.
Start the winter white outfit with my necklace
And let that be one of my good colors. But it is a bit disappointing with this necklace. First of all, it is quite big and heavy, so I think you cannot wear it on everything. Not on a frilly blouse or something like that. I also like it best when I wear a necklace with colors, that the color comes back in the outfit. Well this sweater and this cardigan thus.
But this seem to be the only outfit the necklace looks good on. Perhaps it looks great with a dark brown top, or a denim blouse or dress. But then I have to buy a denim dress. Haha, I am so good in finding any excuse to buy something!
Back to the winter white sweater
The downside is that the sweater’s pilling. This is a sweater from Zara and I buy these in many colors every season. They are super soft and stretchy and are the perfect basic sweaters for an outfit with a jacket or a cardigan. But whatever you wear on them, they pill super fast. Which is very ugly. Fortunately, they are also not that expensive.
The cardigan matches nicely with the middle beads and the rest with the first ones. The earrings are the color of the largest beads and are made of clay, very light. Yes I am a matchy matchy girl. The skirt was a super cheap one from Zara that I bought on my birthday last August. I also bought it in a gorgeous shad of blue. But these skirts really require shaping underwear, as they are so stretchy. Nothing so ugly as shape wear.

Such a pretty outfit, Nancy! Love the necklace with it. I hate pieces that pill. I’m trying to figure out how to avoid them. Consequently, I am avoiding knits. I read that items made of mixed fibers are more likely to pill, because one fiber is always stronger than the other and the stronger one breaks the weaker one.

I do like your white outfit Nancy but I agree with you that the necklace might be a bit heavy, although it’s very pretty and would look lovely worn over something similar to your white jumper but in black? Just a thought 🙂

I love a winter white/cream look and this looks so pretty on you! To bad about the pilling on the sweater – that drives me nuts and I HATE shapewear so anything that requires it is pretty much a no-go for me.

Nancy, I really love this outfit! The winter white is so pretty and the monochromatic look is elegant and chic! That necklace is really fun. I love the colors and it really does look nice on the cream sweater. Too bad that it is so bulky and heavy. Funny how you built your outfit around the necklace! I agree it would look gorgeous with denim, but I think it would be great with other blue shades as well, and dark brown, of course! I think the creams are really lovely together! But that skirt would be a no for me. Looks great on you, but would not look so great on my frumpiness. I do have some shaping underwear, but I always feel like what are they really doing? Seems nothing – haha! I’m trying to make exercising these days a priority so hopefully I can lose/tone a little. I also really like the look of the necklace! The ombre coloring and bead size changes is neat, but sucks that it’s uncomfortable. Maybe cut it up, and turn the beads into something else like earrings or a smaller, lighter necklace?

This is such an elegant outfit, Nancy! I hate cheap sweaters that pill – I just will not buy them. I’d rather have a more expensive sweater that doesn’t pill. And screw shapewear! I have a few pieces, but I can’t even remember the last time I wore them – it’s been years.
