Neon is very hot this season. But can you wear neon over 50? I have never been a very big fan of it. Yes I am the age that I see this trend for the umpteenth time. When you’re over 50 you have seen all the trends before, lol! But as with so many trends, I have to get used to it and in the end I often like it. Usually when the trend is long past. Haha, really bad for a fashion blogger. Well, I don’t see myself as a fashion blogger but as a personal style blogger. And in that capacity I can wear what I want on my blog.
Can you wear neon when over 50?
Hell yeah! You can wear almost anything when you’re over 50. Because our self confidence grows with our age, and with self confidence you can wear anything! But do it with style and keep it classy is my advice.
So neon. I wanted a pink sweater to wear on a red skirt for those chilly spring days. Or cooler summer evenings. This one I picked because I like the open knit. A rather thick sweater, but a spring sweater because of those little holes. Also ideal to wear over a shirt dress!
And say it yourself, if you want a pink sweater, well this one is very pink, can it get any more pink! I started the post with that I’m not so much of the neon, but what about these boots! Wow, two neon pieces in one outfit! This color combination is inspired by Gail who often wears green and regularly combines it with pink.
How to style neon pink
You’ve seen the skirt before, bought when I went shopping with my sister. It’s a very simple one, but because it has pockets it gives the skirt something cool iness. Very casual. And the boots are the same as these yellow ones! Aren’t they both gorgeous? And now I did see the perfect golden ankle boots online! The problem is that I will not wear them this coming season. But I want golden ankle boots for such a long time. Shall I order them? I am wearing simple green earrings and a bit of a neon green statement ring for accessories. Are you in for the neon trend?

Neon reminds me always of neon lights and visiting a neon light making factory in middle school in France: our class made a documentary and we one 2nd place in a contest with it: the prize was a class trip to Poitiers and going to this cool place called Futuroscope which had 3D movie theater, 180 degree theater… Fun memories!

So pink its…PANK??? I think I would call this PANK, Nancy! I love neon, going back to a neon green scarf of my mom’s from the 60s, which I wore when it first revived in 1983-4. I’ve seen neon come and go so many times, I just don’t care if it’s a trend or not! Love it! You look spectacular!

Nancy, I love this outfit and I am not a huge fan of neon either! I didn’t love it in the 80’s and 90’s and I don’t love it now, but I love these boots and sweater and the gorgeous combination you created with them!
