I had been looking for a floral print dress for a few months now. And I ended up buying a black dress…. But hey, I knew exactly what colors it had to be and what it should look like. Well then you know what the problem is, you can’t find it! Was it that difficult? I was just looking for a bright pink and green floral print dress, with layers. Long sleeves. And with pockets! Could not find it anywhere. Well, it didn’t kill me.
A back dress is even better
But I have actually found an even nicer dress. Yes, I do know that many of you now think, a black dress! During the summer! Yes! I love it. The only downside to this dress is that it has no pockets! It’s polyester, I don’t love cotton clothes, it wrinkles way too much. But today’s polyester is really not that sweaty like it was decades ago. It is a beautiful heavy quality. I am sure that I will wear this dress so much, it is so very comfortable and to me it is very cool!
How to wear these wider dresses
I tried, and showed in this post, how to wear it with or without a belt. I like it best with a smaller belt, like this one, or without a belt. But Sheila opted to wear my hair up when I don’t wear a belt. Good idea Sheila, thanks! The puff sleeves cover the most ugly part of my upper arms. Can’t stand it that, working out at least 4 times a week, my arms don’t look better. Yeah, I know, it’s age thing….
I am wearing old grayish sandals, but a slipper or sneakers look fabulous too under this dress. And I wear brownish accessories with this dress. Black and brown work very well together, is my opinion. The plastic bracelets and the wicker earrings give the black dress a summery feel. But with black you can wear any color! Yellow accessories would be great too! Now I am actually quite happy that I didn’t find a perfect floral dress, it just wasn’t meant to be! A black dress is more my style I guess.
