Although the sun has regularly shown itself here, April can also be quite cold. So the somewhat thinner sweaters are certainly not going into the winter closet yet. But I’m done with trousers and tights. I want to go with bare legs. But with a skirt long enough to cover my still white legs. You have seen this long skirt many times before, I have had it for a number of years. And I love this skirt, it’s just a really thin one. It was originally a real maxi skirt, but I didn’t find it very wearable, so I had it shortened and now I wear it very often.
You have also seen that bag before. Where my girlfriends wanted to have it, lol.
Long navy silk skirt with a military jacket

The funny thing is that I wear this long skirt more in the colder months even though it’s a very thin one. And often with a jumper. I bought this striped jumper on Vinted just like the jacket. I have four of these kind of military style jackets. I find them pretty cool and perfect to wear on a skirt or dress.
The white sneakers will soon have to be replaced because they are getting a bit ugly. But oh how I love these. Never would have thought that I would love sneakers that much. I really never wore sneakers, other then in the gym, for let’s say 5 years ago. And I really like that it has some gold stripes on it, because I always wear gold. So I need relacement ones with golden stripes! Any suggestions?
Love for long skirts

I can’t believe that we have vacation in two weeks time. Really early, I think that’s why it feels weird. We are not going to the UK because of Jack. He is to young yet to leave him for a few nights. But we do miss Rye. We already booked for September, but we might sqeeze a few days in July in hopefully. When Jack has been castrated and is a lot more relaxed, lol.
Do I say this every spring? I can’t find any nice spring clothes! Yes, I do….. I want to buy something new, lovely dresses, cool skirts, but it’s all linen that I see and all the same colours. A lot of beige and off white, boring. Says the one that only wears dark colours…….Let’s hope that there will be a lot of fabulous collections soon. Because otherwise I’m afraid I don’t have anything to wear…… Besides I need a new dress or long skirt for a friends wedding in June! Okay, I will be patience for a few more weeks…not my strongest point.
My Fancy Friday Favourite is wearing a long skirt too, and blue and orange like I did last week!

Great idea to shorten the skirt slightly so that you wear it more often! In spring we’re desperate to start wearing lighter clothes but it’s still too cold. This skirt is light but can be dressed up for warmth! Have a great weekend

Yeah, but next week it are more winter temps. I’ll bet it isn’t any better in the Uk.
That’s a beautiful skirt, Nancy. Love the colour and fabric. Love how you have styled it too. Thanks so much for hosting.

What a fabulous outfit. I love the striped tee with the blues. Gorgeous. You really do have the best military style jackets. I’m still wanting one! Maybe I’ll find one this year. As for your white trainers. Maybe Ted Baker? They sometimes have really pretty ones and might have gold stripes?
Big hugs

Yes I thought about Ted Baker too! Thanks Suzy!
Another lovely outfit! I’m so ready for the warm weather to hit and am dying to wear all the cute summery clothes but am contenting myself with lighter sweaters, skirts, and lots of light weight jackets.

Thanks Joanne!
Longing to think Spring but far too cold. But holiday looming so have to start thinking ahead. Good outfit today Nancy that obviously provides you with the style and the comfort factor – ultimately what it’s about!
and that’s what it all about!

Indeed! It’s getting warmer here after next weekend, so I am thrilled!

I did the same thing on Easter weekend. I wore a long maxi dress to stay warm! Such a cute look!

Thanks Amy!
Hi Nancy and (sigh) oh for some warmer weather. Love the long skirt on you but personally couldn’t go bare-legged, brrrr!!
And a bit yes to colours and darker shades for clothes, never off white or beige! Love your favourite’s orange jacket – it’s wonderful!
Here’s wishing that you have a great holiday and some sun 🙂

Thanks Penny! The weather should be getting better so hopefully we are lucky!
Love how versatile this skirt truly is. And the way it works in different weather is lovely.

Great transitional outfit, Nancy! The full and swishy silk skirt must be a dream to wear! Love your collection of military jackets, you wear them so well. Our weather is finally starting to turn spring like, but it is back and forth, so I can’t pack away my winter wardrobe, yet! Enjoy your weekend and thanks for the link up!
Author
Thank you very much Di. I really can’t pack them away either, but I am done with them, lol.
I bet you are excited for your trip. I really love the military jacket here with this look! The skirt is so lovely! You had me laughing as all I have bought lately is linen pieces. It gets hot here quick,so they are my saving grace.
Have a great weekend Nancy!

It does wear great when it is hot, but it’s not hot often here. Thanks Jess!
The juxtaposition of styles makes this a really cool outfit!

Nancy what a great outfit. You look fabulous!

I love your blue skirt and how it flows. Great length too! I am in the mood for flowy dresses and skirts (even though I wore a short one yesterday) and loose pants. I will be rotating my flowy pants in soon! Wore leggings the other day with a tunic and I was so hot! Summer weather is almost here.

Oh it is winter weather here Mireille, while it should be a lot sunnier and warmer. Perhaps next week.
Can’t believe Spring is taking so long to arrive … and next week cold and wet weather has been forecasted once again. I am so bored with my cold weather clothes!
I’m loving your maxi skirt solution for going bare-legged, although even with a maxi skirt I’m not quite ready for that!
It looks gorgeous with the striped jumper and military style jacket!
What a shame you’re not going to the UK sooner. We are going in June again, for two weeks leaving on the 10th. That’s less than two months away now! xxx
Author
Oh how fabulous! We talked about going in July a few days, we can’t wait for September I am afraid!
You don’t have anything to wear?? LOL!! Now you need to show us your closet. I bet I could find a thing or two.
That skirt has so many possibilities. It’s a fabulous shape for any day and would go with any color.

I am in love with that jacket! Such a gorgeous, stylish design and the colour is awesome! It’s perfect for this uncertain weather – I was hoping the sun would be a permanent feature by this point in the year! Thank you for hosting! Sim x

Yes me too! It’s bloody cold here, especially this week! Thanks hun!
I love this outfit, Nancy! Such pretty shades of blue. And your military style jackets are my absolute favorite. We have had a few warm days, but now it’s going to be cool for the next 10 days. In fact, I have to cover my plants tonight because we may hit freezing.

Oh, hey, that’s me! Lol, thank you so much for featuring me, Nancy! I love your outfit, obviously! I adore long swooshy skirts at this time of year – they waft in the spring breezes. I only do bare legs when it’s actually hot out, so long skirts are a great way to do bare legs and not show them.
Author
My pleasure love! Indeed, but it is now actually way to cold again to go bare legged!
Nancy I love the navy outfit and longer lengths hide my white legs. I cannot be bothered to use false tan.
Author
Me neither Hilda, I don’t even like it.
I love this skirt on you, Nancy! And you know I am always a fan of military style jackets. And sneakers with skirts even though I don’t wear sneakers often. I bought a few new maxi slip dresses for spring and summer and I cannot wait to wear them. But it is still too cold!

Haha, yes here too, it are still winter temps. I really hate it!
I love this outfit! Having the skirt shortened was a great idea. As for white trainers, I have some Adidas Stan Smiths and they are really good quality. Veja trainers look good too.
