Sometimes I like to step out of my comfort zone. Weather it is with a colorful outfit or wearing a dress over trousers. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I already said in this post that I was allowed to choose two outfits for a television program. This is the second outfit. And I wanted to choose something I wouldn’t normally buy. Well, what else than jeans should that be!
Stepping out of my comfort zone.
But my eye also fell on this jacket. Quilted, not fitted, not my colors, batik design, but I fell for it anyway! Crazy, huh. I thought it was such a special jacket and the color combination and print are beautiful. It is also printed inside with a different print.
And then I saw these jeans and thought it would perfectly together. Together with the stylist I looked for a pair of shoes and we both agreed that they should be sneakers! I have also worn this outfit many times. The jacket is so wonderfully warm! It’s by Antik Batik. So you can see that stepping out of your comfort zone every now and then can be a lot of fun.
If you have to pay for it, you don’t step out of your comfort zone easily.
If I had to pay for an outfit myself, I wouldn’t be so quick to step outside my comfort zone. But because I received this outfit, I liked to do so. Yeah yeah, I am a adventurous woman….NOT. You all know I’m not much of a denim fan. But I often secretly like wide cropped jeans. Am I going to love jeans in the end? Haha, I already have three pair now, lol. Do you ever buy something that you can call stepping outside your comfort zone, or do you stay true to your own style?
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

Kudo for stepping out of your comfort zone, Nancy. It’s not often that we see you wearing jeans but I think they suit you a lot. The whole outfit has this urban edge that makes you look young and super chic. Enjoy your weekend

Thank you very much Anna! No I don’t wear them that much. I like to do so sometimes, not to often. Have a great weekend.
Nancy I like it so much! You look great in denim.? This jacket is great, good choice. I am a fan of stepping out of my comfort zone, but it‘s difficult, like you said, I have to pay. ? Buying secondhand is a good option to try something new in style.

Indeed! I do it with pre loved too! Thanks Tina!
Well done for trying something new. I rarely do it now because all the times I’ve done it I rarely wore the items! I think you should wear jeans more often, you have long legs and look great in them!
Author
Thanks Gail. I am wearing jeans more then I have ever done. But it will never be a favorite.
I love the outfit and I’m glad you stepped out of your comfort zone for this one! I can see you wearing this with heels too and those jeans will be great styled so many ways. I agree, when it’s on someone else’s dime it’s easier to do! Have a great weekend Nancy.

This is a great outfit on you! It’s the perfect choice to try something new and different with a stylist”s encouragement. And not having to worry about the cost is a big plus. I love the print and the unusual handmade look of the jacket. Even if you only wear jeans occasionally, they look good on you! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much. I feel always that jeans are so boring, but sometimes I really like them.

Nancy, if this is the result, you should step out of your comfort zone more often! That jacket is all kinds of fabulous! And, I love those jeans. This is such a wonderful outfit especially as it was a gift! I think I would definitely step out of my comfort zone if someone else were paying…way, way out! Thanks for sharing this! I love it!

Those wide cropped jeans are lovely on you Nancy, and they look fabulous with the frilly blouse and the quilted jacket. Well done for stepping out of your comfort zone. I often do at charity shop prices 🙂 and yes, if you don’t have to pay for things, that’s even better! xxx

It is! Thank you very much Ann. I did buy pre loved items that I wouldn’t normally!
Great choices! I absolutely love each pieces: the wide legged jeans are really cool with the extra detail and the sneakers are perfect. Now the jacket is absolutely gorgeous: it makes for a wonderful outfit: glad you when outside your comfort zone! I definitely have done that with pants and jeans in different cuts this year and have surprised myself how often I reach for them!

Nancy,
This look is fabulous on you and you appear to be quite comfortable. What a wonderful opportunity you’ve had to explore other style options that you’d previously dismissed. I’d say that the experience has been a positive one for you.

For stepping out of your comfort zone, I’d say you nailed it, Nancy! As soon as I saw the jeans, I knew this was something new and different. You look adorable, you sweet young thing!! Love the jacket, too. I try to step out of my comfort zone, which is the purpose of my blog but tend to go back to classic things. I just can’t help it!! Lol!

I do love this on you Nancy. Maybe that’s why I love thrifting so much because you can step out of your comfort zone without a huge investment. I also like the clothing boxes for that reason, because you can try things easily but don’t have to buy them if you change your mind.

That is a good way to step out your comfort zone too!
I have a similar rule, in that if I get a gift card or any kind of free product, I pick out something I wouldn’t normally chose for myself. Your risk totally paid off—those jeans look great on you, and you’d totally fit in here in San Francisco in this outfit!

Wow, Nancy, that’s a great jacket – really love it! The jeans are also lovely but in the UK only for indoors and only if you don’t have a cold draughty flat like ours!!!! I wear thick socks even indoors! But the whole outfit is lovely on you.
Have a lovely weekend x

You look fabulous! I would not have thought of pairing cropped pants with such a thick/warm jacket but it really does work well together. I do often try stepping out of my comfort zone and find I am often pleasantly surprised when I do.
