Why can I never find what I have in my head? For example this simple maxi dress. I wanted a maxi dress this summer and I didn’t have one. Yes I know, you are shocked. But since I will only wear a maxi dress on very hot days, and we do not have those here a lot this season, I thought it should have to be a second hand one. So I scoured that second hand clothing site for a nice dress and after a few days I found one. Nice colors, nice print, good brand. But when I tried it on, it turned out not to be really very maxi and it was just a bit too tight. And I thought it was too neat. And I actually wanted a very simple, long tee like dress.No, not happy with it. You know the feeling right, you have something in your head and you just can’t find it! Aargh.
Spoiled brat or just a fashionista in the making
Which reminds me of when I was about 13 years old. I went shopping with my grandmother and I was allowed to buy some clothing. I wanted a blouse with a slanted closure. We walked back and forth three times throughout Arnhem, went to all the shops and I couldn’t find it! With my grandmother, the crying was now closer than the laughing, but I had to have such a blouse. My grandmother went home then, and I went up and down Arnhem again and came back to my grandmother grumpy because I didn’t find such a blouse. But I did get it in the end! My grandmother made one for me! Oh very bad hey, and believe me, I really wasn’t a spoiled brat, not at all. But back then it was already, when it comes to fashion ……everyone has to suffer!
Yeah, I finally found the simple maxi dress I was looking for
So I was not that happy with the second hand dress. But I finally found one that I had in mind. How hard can it be, just a super simple maxi dress for wonderful summer evenings.Or ideal for a festival, but unfortunately the weather was not good enough to wear this dress to the festival. You would think these are all over the internet. Not! Perhaps it is to simple! After all all you need are a pair of slippers underneath, a bit of accessories and ready. And now lets hope that there are still enough hot days to come so that I can actually wear this dress!

I love this style of maxi for summer and have a couple of them – and skirts too – because we are so hot here and the summer heat goes on for a long time!! How near is that little jacket with it? And I have always been the same – knew too well what I wanted and didn’t want to settle for less!! Oh dear!! I’d say your dress was worth the wait and you know what you are looking for! My closet gets filled with things I buy and then never wear for one reason or another – I am getting older and wiser and not making those mistakes!
