This is the second dress of my Shein experience. A beautiful black and white print dress. I really love wearing dresses. Especially in winter because I like to wear a cardigan. And I always think that looks very nice on a dress. And I like dresses better with a pair of boots underneath than with sandals. So in the winter I wear a lot of dresses. (actually also a lot of skirts…..and trousers…..I just wear a lot…..)
Black & white print dress
I said it before that I don’t like to wear black and white together. It makes me think of a waitress. However…….yes you can guess what is coming…… I wear it quite a lot! How the hell does it work in my head?? I think it is about time that I accept this color combination as something I like a lot.
But what about this black and white print dress? I bought two dresses from Shein a while ago, the first one is this one. This second one is a bit worse then the first one. It fits great and I love the print, but the fabric….neh. I don’t think this dress looks as nice after I worn it 3 or 4 times.
I added some red to the outfit and a short leather bolero like jacket. I belted the print dress, but it was actually nicely tailered, so not really neccesary to belt it. The color is off white however, when I see it in lamplight it is more yellowish, kind of the color of butter. Weird. And not that pretty. I guess it’s the fabric that does that?
Gifts from Kaya.
Christmas is coming soon. So that means thinking hard about gifts again. Not just to receive! I myself love personalized gifts, for myself but also to give to someone else. Now, at Kaya sieraden they not only have gorgeous necklaces, bracelets etc., they also have leather wallets and clutches. And so you can have your initials put on it, or that of someone else. That is such a lovely present! I already have my present, a personalized wallet! (gepersonaliseerde portemonnee)
I have a giveaway on Instagram with Kaya sieraden and I am wearing my personalized necklace!(ketting met naam) Isn’t it lovely, with my birthstone! Go to the giveaway and who knows! You might win a €30 voucher! You should really take a look at the Kaya site because it is full of inspiration!
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

Thanks Kellyann, enjoy your weekend too!
Shein are certainly not the best fabrics around but if you find the right outfit the value is astounding! Excellent styling to bring this dress to life, love the red boots!

Thank you Pamela. I just removed the app on my phone. Decided that I don’t want to buy more.
I think the dress looks gorgeous so it’s a shame you think it’s just a bit ‘Neh’! But I totally know what you mean about Shein — it’s a bit of a lottery whether you get good stuff or not lol. I do love the print though. I agree about dresses with cardigans, and boots as well. I’m looking for a nice chunky black cardigan at the moment, to wear with my dresses.
Have a fabulous weekend, Nancy. Thanks for the link-up. Mine is on the blog today too.
Big hugs
Suzy xx
At first sight the dress looks lovely on you, but if it’s not a true white and the material is a bit off, I get what you’re saying about it.
You do actually really suit black and white! Have a lovely weekend and thanks for hosting 🙂

Thanks Amy!
It is a really cute dress, Nancy! I love the bold print and I am a fan of black and white! I think waitress when an outfit is black bottoms with a white top. Other than that, I don’t think the color combination screams waitress at all. And certainly not in this fun outfit! I like the edginess of the leather bolero jacket and the splash of red with your boots really makes the whole thing pop!

Oh do you? I myself think they look horrible! The poses I mean….
Black and white is a good idea ?. What a great necklace Nancy. ❤️

Thank you very much Tina!
I´m loving the pattern and shape of this dress, but what a pity about the quality of the fabric! The pops of red added with your bracelet and boots are delightful. I prefer wearing dresses and skirts with boots as well. In fact, I think it’s one of the perks of the Autumn/Winter season! xxx

Haha, I totally agree! That bracelet I bought in Canterbury in 2001 when Gerben and I went to the UK for the first time together! And got addicted! To the country that is…..
I think a black and white print is very different from what you see on waitresses. And this combined with the red boots is absolutely spectacular!!

I agree, personalized items make thoughtful gifts-it’s a great shopping tip! Love this look on you. I’m a fan of black and white, and the oversized stylized print is fun, especially with the pop of color of your booties! Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for sharing

Yes, Nancy, it is about time you accept that the black and white color combination looks great on you! Mostly because you really know how to style it up. The black leather bolero and the red booties make it truly stand out! A great collaboration for you, too! Have a great weekend, my friend.

Shame about the quality as the dress looks good on you. It would be the fabric that makes it look yellow. It must be a European waitress uniform as black and white isnt worn here. I always love black and white as you know and wear it lots. Many thanks for hosting.

Oh is it? And it isn’t even from this century that they worn black and white, lol. But it sticks in my head.
The pattern of the dress is lovely, but yeah, I find the quality of fabric lacking in general with new clothing these days. It does look great on you, especially with the red accessories.
Have a great weekend, and thanks so much for the link-party, Nancy!

Yes, I decided that I didn’t want to buy there anymore.

That necklace is so beautiful with your name on it. I love such things. Perfect gift, right?
And as far as black and white are concerned – it makes me think of Coco Chanel. Does not get any more elegant or classy. 🙂
Love the way you styled your dress with tights and those boots. Very spiffy and elegant! xo Sabina
