I have never been so fond of maxi skirts or dresses, but lately I am. I also find myself suddenly thinking that pencil skirts are less beautiful on me. At least the ones that don’t fall over my knees. Am I so capricious?
Stepping out of my style with a maxi skirt
Not really! If I furnish my house, it will remain like this for years to come. When I have found the love of my life, and I have, I remain eternally faithful. I am such a person! I am not capricious, I just go with my feelings. And that says that at this point in my life this length suits me better. Now I am not suddenly going to wear maxi all the time though. But I will not be wearing just on the knee or above anymore. I just don’t like it anymore on me. It’s not a age thing, don’t get me wrong, I am all for wear what you like!
Wearing a maxi skirt with a longer jacket
Where I am very loyal on other points, my style changes with me. And I like that. Change is good. Have to get used to it, but it is good. (but not in my interior or relationship lol) I wear this skirt with sneakers but in the fall I will wear it with brown boots! I think the military jacket fits well with the skirt and the ruffled blouse makes it a bit more playful. You should definitely not iron this skirt! Yes indeed, I did. And I had to do my very best to get the wrinkles back in it again. Now that’s also new to me!
Shop the maxi skirt look!

Oh thanks Carrie, I will pass it through the photographer!
What great monochrome outfit! I love maxi skirts too, they are so much easier for days with the kids than shorter ones I need to worry about when moving around, haha! 🙂 I’m definitely a fan of them, although I have a few knee length and above the knee pencil skirts too!
Thank you for the link up!
Hope that your week is going well and you have a nice weekend ahead of you!

But you look great in all sort of lengths! Thanks love, have a great weekend!

One of my favourite looks on you! We get influenced by what’s in fashion – I’m not keen on pencil or knee-length skirts at the moment, but that’s because they suddenly look a bit old fashioned, for now.
Author
Perhaps that’s just it Gail! Thanks!
I acually love the style of your knee length dresses and skirts Nancy but I understand your desire for change. I do this myself! Have a lovely weekend, and I love the maxi style on you too xx

I think I like just over the knee, or longer, the best! Have a great weekend! Enjoy the sun!
The cut of that jacket is just beautiful with the maxi skirt! This is such a great look Nancy!

You look very ‘dashing’ – an old fashioned word but it looks almost like a riding outfit, love it!

I’m a huge fan of maxi skirts and love yours! My tastes are always changing and I dress for whatever I’m feeling that day! Your photos are beautiful!

Nancy, I adore this outfit on you! It is very romantic feeling with the long skirt and that gorgeous military inspired jacket! I think I am rather capricious when it comes to my style as well. I go in phases. This winter I was on a kick for mini skirts, tights, and short booties. This summer, I am all about the maxi dresses and kimonos where last summer it was short cut off shorts and kimonos. I think pencil skirts and shorter skirts look fabulous on you, but so does the maxi style. So change it up however it suits your mood! Have a great weekend!

My Goddaughter would love your peacock earrings! I think our style changes with time… I actually had not been wearing that many skirts and dresses for a while and now I am really enjoying them. And as my style has changed I have donated the ones I did not enjoy anymore for ones that fit my style now. Love your military jacket and how it makes the look!

I love that color on you (especially with the purple liatris in the foreground ). Those earring are so lovely too. My daughter would love them. She adores anything with peacocks.

Oh does she! And they are very light too! Thanks Amy!
A maxi with a long jacket is so chic!! And yet it’s got that funky boho feel as well- love it!!

Thanks Lucy!
This outfit is so different and I really like it! The long military jacket, maxi and sneakers are such a fun individual look. Nice job, Nancy!

And I didn’t have a skirt in this color! Thanks Darlene!
you took what could have been a very somber serious suit and made it fun and carefree. Great pics

Thanks Linda!
Stunning, Nancy! You do remind me a bit of Kate Bush wearing that outfit! And I’m totally in love with those peacock earrings. It’s quite natural to find one’s style shifting and evolving now and again. I’ve only been blogging for 4 and a half years, and I can definitely see the changes! xxx

Kate Bush?? Because of the swoosy maxi skirt? It would be boring if we always wore the same wouldn’t it!
I love the maxi style on you, it’s one of my favourite styles too. The jacket looks great with it – so true that we should try new things, great pics. Enjoy your weekend Nancy.

Nancy, I’m with you—I feel best in a midi or maxi skirt at this point in my life. My legs are so veiny that I just feel more comfortable that way. Wear what you like, but also what you feel confident in!

I totally agree! Thanks Cheryl!
The skirt & longer jacket work beautifully together…the proportions are just right! And I love the military vibes, they add a whole other level of cool. Changing our minds about what we love fashion-wise is part of the fun! It’s an easy thing to change that can make a world of difference in how we feel!

I love that you point out that change is good. It’s totally different with our spouses, but our style can be one way one day, and totally different another. That’s the best thing about it.

Ah, maxi skirts are addictive! Once you get one, you’ll start acquiring more – you’ve been warned, Nancy! 🙂
I’m so sorry about your issues trying to subscribe to my blog again – it’s not you, so please don’t sign up with any more emails!
