A viral pandemic is not only a health crisis. With some devastating social, economical, and political effects, it will leave a deep scar on mankind. Many sectors have already fallen and will fall due to this Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown. Wearing masks, gloves, or face shields, carrying sanitizers, and maintaining social distancing will be a new thing for our world. This will bring a massive change in the fashion industry as well.
We have already heard that we will have to live with the coronavirus shortly. Therefore, we will need to accept the 5 post covid major fashion changes.
Changes In The Way We Dress
With the growing coronavirus pandemic and lockdown, the fashion world will see many changes. The first change will be the way we dress.
Well, we know 2019 came with trends of jumpers, bodysuits, and jumpsuits. These dresses are the best choice to prevent the spreading of Covid. Jumpsuits and bodysuits come with neck protectors and hoods. Therefore, a very little amount of skin will be open to the elements. Some of these dresses also come with matching face masks as well as bags. Therefore, if you are going through any public transport or any place you can take these suits off. Then Isolate by putting it inside the bag and then wash it anytime you want. Moreover, there are some dresses made with N95 grade fabric known as ‘biohoodies’. You can zip it all the way up to the nose and protect you from any airborne contagions.
Premium Face Masks
As masks have already taken their place in our cupboard we need to find the designer masks. These masks will help you to be safe as well as to look stylish. Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Fendi, and others are coming with designer and washable premium face masks.
These previous-century things are going to come back to our lives again. Fashion designers are taking inspiration from some Chinese tube balloon headgear that can encourage social distancing. These types of covid-hats will look cool as well as remind everyone around you to keep their distances.
Here, we are not talking about those latex surgical gloves. We all know those products cause the hands to sweat badly. Some fashion designers are making beautiful hand-embroidered gloves that are made with antibacterial crochets. There are also some colorful gloves that you can choose according to your mood. No matter, if you are driving or going to hit the gym wearing suitable gloves, will uprise your entire looks.
Domination Of The Online Market
The fashion industry already saw a high uprising of the online market for the last few years. It is the highest growing segment of the entire fashion world. Lots of shops are closed around the globe due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Therefore the condition is forcing the people to shop from the online markets. Thus, we will see serious domination of online markets shortly as one of the 5 post covid major fashion changes.
Uprising Of sustainable Clothing
The customers have started shopping way more consciously than before. Moreover, they have started thinking about the ethical aspects of the products. Therefore, the public is thinking a lot more before buying things. And also they are putting their thoughts before spending their hard-earned money on the endorsing companies.
Severe Changes In The Modelling Industry
A major change is going to happen to the fashion weeks with the ongoing social distancing and the travel restriction. Well, do not lose hope! Maybe online catwalk streaming will be a new normal for us and also for the fashion world. The ‘no guest’ policy will be applied to the modeling industry as well.
Entry Of Slower Fashion Designing
A pandemic can force us to rethink some of the fashion industry habits and therefore there will be at least 5 post covid major fashion changes. The high profile retailers and popular brands will start to rethink the market value and products. Therefore, the fashion industry will have to produce dresses for fewer seasons and make them available in a single market. Also with this health crisis, the masks and face shields are going to take a permanent place in the wardrobe of people. The existence of lips and nose beauty products will face an existential crisis.
Well, as the pandemic is bringing a terrible health crisis and also a severe economic crisis. We can only hope that the beloved fashion industry will turn around in a whole new way. Maybe this is the largest crisis of both the health and economics of our modern world. There will be many post covid major fashion changes after the lockdown is over. Moreover, it will also bring positive impacts on the fashion industry for long term purposes.

Very interesting! I got a compliment on my mask today. It was one that my mom made and happened to match the top I had on. I’m thinking of making more masks in a variety of colors and prints.
That is great! I use the disposable ones, but one that would fit my outfit is much nicer!
So much good information. I really like the idea of gloves, at least from a fashion standpoint. I’d like to see the Chinese government held accountable with these measures, too.
Such an interesting post to read – I hadn’t considered a lot of these changes. Fascinating!
