Often impulsive purchases do not work out well. So it surprised me that it did worked out for me a few weeks ago. Do you recognize this, you sit on the couch in the evening, a blanket over you, a cup of coffee with chocolates in reach. And the telephone in one hand for shopping online. Just to browse all your favorite stores and throw everything you like into the shopping basket and then select what you like best and for the best price of course. Hey, I’m Dutch, I want everything for the best price.
A good impulsive buy for a change
But sometimes I get tired at a certain point and you should actually put the phone away then, and see if you still like the items the next day and then order them. But I was too greedy again and so ordered this dress thinking it was a black dress. That’s how impulsive purchases are made.So it turned out to be a navy dress. And I had bought quite a few navy items lately. But when I put on the dress, I actually really liked it. Fits great, does not draw very much and has a great length! What a surprise. I like the gold colored zipper, that always is a good detail for me, gold stuff.
Sometimes impulsive purchases turn out quite good
As you may know I really like monochrome looks so this cardigan, which I once bought at Primark, looks perfect on the dress. Can you believe it is several years old? I mean Primark? I love these lightweight long cardigans. And then for the casual feel I wear cream platform sneakers underneath! For accessories I wear huge loops and a navy statement ring. And a lovely necklace with navy and all other colors, which looks pretty good on a monochrome outfit. Sometimes an impulsive purchase works out well!

It is indeed unusual to be happy with an impulse purchase – my worst buys are when I get something on the spur of the moment and then find it doesn’t work with my wardrobe, so I hardly ever wear it. This dress is a good buy, it’s the type you can dress up or down, and looks good on you.

Tell me about it – I have bought far too many items online usually sale items but nevertheless this has got to stop once the beauticians and hairdressers open on Monday! My clothes buying will return to charity shop shopping!

You’ll probably be surprised, but there was a time when I wore black almost exclusively. It was in the days before Internet existed, and when I was out shopping in a poorly lit shop, I once or twice made the mistake of buying dark blue garments instead of the black I was after 😉

Gosh that cardigan is perfect with the dress. I thought they came together as a set. I like the slits in the cardi that add movement to it. Very flirty. And I like that the dress is blue and not black. I really wear little black. So harsh!! Prefer colors to black.
I can absolutely relate to your shopping online routine. Have a gingham blouse in my basket at JCrew Factory online, a jacket at Loft online, and probably a dozen things in my Old Navy basket. Need to go back and revisit everything to see what makes the cut!!
