Are you a planner or do you let things take their course? I’m a planner. And not just a little bit! I always want to have everything arranged in advance and I am always the first to do so. For example at Christmas. I’m always the first to bring it up in the family. (in October) What are we going to do, with whom, what needs to be arranged. Groceries, dinner, etc. I just think it’s a nice feeling if I know what we’re going to do, well in advance, it gives me peace of mind.
I definitely am a planner!
This probably sounds awful to people who don’t plan at all. I can imagine that very well. It must be very relaxed when you are not a planner. I’m the same with outfits, but only when it is Christmas. Because I am normally not a planner at all when it comes to what I will wear on a normal day. When I was still working, I never checked my clothes for the next day in the evening before. That doesn’t work for me.
Because when I got up in the morning I often didn’t feel like putting on that outfit I had laid out. It really depends on my mood in the morning. I really can’t wear a outfit that I don’t feel comfortable in. And I mean mood wise. That just doesn’t work, then I don’t feel good in it all day……and get grumpy.
Planning outfits for Christmas
But for Christmas I already know what I’m going to wear for weeks! Am I weird or what! I think it’s also because I often want to wear something new and I want to dress myself up extra, etc. Put on heels, style my hair (which I normally never do, but you probably already had that idea, about my hair I mean…). We don’t have the time either to think about what to wear then do we?
I also hate choosing outfits for a vacation. Because usually it is already on the first day of arrival that I think: well, have I packed this? Don’t feel like wearing that at all! It does help that I now hold myself to a color theme for a vacation, that works better. Usually that color would be black….lol. Oh so annoying. So yes, I’m a planner, except for my everyday outfits.
I am not going to wear this gorgeous tulle dress in beautiful Autumn colors at Christmas, but I am going to wear tulle! And not even new! This was a lovely collaboration as you can see here.
I wish you all a fabulous Christmas!!

Nancy, I definitely know how you feel about planning well in advance for events but not for my daily outfits. And I’m on the same boat with you about packing for a trip; it’s a necessary evil to plan out what you’re going to wear only to be disappointed that you didn’t bring something else. Such are our struggles. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

I’m like you Nancy, a planner! I’m always the first to ask about family plans….and I make a calendar note when it’s time to reserve a Christmas online shopping slot! Love seeing you in your Autumn colours. Fabulous dress, and you look radiant!

Haha, you are just like me, or I just like you!

Thanks Tina!
OMG, Nancy, how cool is this dress! I love the color blocking and the autumn colors in tulle. It’s so pretty! And the boots and jacket are perfect with it. I get dressed every day according to my mood, so packing for travel is so awful to me as well. It’s why I prefer to drive instead of flying places. Then I can pack as much as I can fit in my car and give myself more outfit options! Haha. I hope you have a fantastic Christmas, my friend! Send our best to Gerben as well!

That is such a beautiful dress on you! I always plan my Christmas outfits in advance too! I also try plan out outfits before I have to wear them – even if it’s just the night before. I find trying to get myself and the kids ready in the morning is too stressful if I haven’t already thought about what to wear, ha!
Thanks for the link up!
Hope that you have a wonderful Christmas 🙂

Haha, I can imagine that! Thanks Mica!
I am definitely a planner! I had planned my outfits for this whole weekend until I realized that the weather would be spring like in the afternoons and that sweaters were out of the question. So I had to have a new plan! Love this dress of yours! It is very pretty and that jacket is probably one of my favorites of yours.

I’m a planner but rarely stick with it if that makes sense! I am the most unorganised person in the world! Have the best Christmas Nancy. Love to you and yours xx

You are? I would have thought you were very organized! On the other hand, you seem to me like a very relaxed person.
Merry Christmas Nancy, I wish you and Gerben all the very best!

Thank you very much Penny!
I like to plan lots of things out, especially my day to day as I forget things that aren’t written in my planner. I try my best to think ahead a bit, but not quite got the hang of things there yet. I can relate to what you said about the clothes – you never know how you will feel the morning of. Merry Christmas!

Thank you very much Alexandra! I hope you enjoyed Christmas!
Love this fabulous tulle dress on you, even if you are planning something else for Christmas! Can’t call it multi color- maybe multi neutral? So pretty! Hope you have a lovely holiday and thanks for the link up party!

I used to be a planner and a complete control freak, but that has changed somewhat over the years, particularly as things often do not work out as planned, which completely throws me off balance. I do plan some of my daily outfits, though, putting together a range of outfits to cover the working week, and some. Which doesn’t mean I sometimes wear something completely different 🙂 But oh, packing for a holiday! That’s something I absolutely hate. I always end up taking the wrong things! I’m loving your dress, by the way, which I think you styled perfectly with that jacket and those boots! I’m wishing you and Gerben a wonderful Christmas! xxx

Thank you very much Ann! I was a total control freak when I was still working. I am now a bit more relaxed but not to much!
Oh Nancy, what a gorgeous dress! I love it. That jacket is super awesome too.
I used to be a huge planner, but after I met my husband 6 years ago, that began to change. He’s very laid back, figures things will work out. The only thing he was ever a planner about was his job. And now he’s retired. So slowly, I began getting more laidback too. But I am still a planner when it comes to coordinating with other people.

I am not a planner at all. I have tried, really I have! My brain just doesn’t work that way. When I was teaching, my cohorts got really upset with me. We all had the same planning books. The day’s plans went across two pages (horizontally) with columns for each time period. My brain said to go up and down. So, at first, I planned with the day at the top and the time periods along the side. My plans were vertical! They couldn’t understand that at all! So, because there were two of them and only one of me, I changed! Even now, I don’t have the faintest idea how to put a date in my phone and have it remind me!! I have tried those planner books. Nope…I don’t have room for those in my purse! I’m not carrying a suitcase just so I can have a planner! Now, with all of the doctors’ appointments and hair appointments and such, I do write (in a column) all of our appointments down. I’m a little on the proud side for doing that!
But, I do have to laugh! When I was teaching, I did plan out the next day’s outfit in my head the night before. Most days, I did wear what I’d planned. Other days, I didn’t feel it!
Thanks for the chuckles, Nancy!
