Well it was not the first time that I was going out, but it was the first festive going out! Fathers day outfit!
Welcome to the monthly edition of Match made in Seven! We are a international group of fashion bloggers who meet once a month. One of us chooses a theme in turn, and that can be anything. A book, music, a color, a movie. And then we style an outfit based on that theme. It’s fun to collaborate with other fashion bloggers! Don’t forget to visit my blogger friends and see how they interpreted the theme of this month!
What I wore first time going out
Father’s Day was the first slightly festive outdoor meeting. So of course I had to pull a new dress out of the closet. For Father’s Day, my father-in-law, we had arranged to meet in my brother-in-law’s garden. There were eight of us and that was doable with sufficient distance. Lovely to chat with each other after such a long time. I had not seen my brothers-in-law and sister-in-law since January. And my parents-in-law love it when some of the children are together again. My father and his wife were supposed to visit us last Saturday but that was canceled. They are coming this weekend.
The dress I wore
The dress and sandals are new. I just couldn’t resist the dress. Everything was right. The length, the sleeve length. They are long sleeves but with elastic so you can easily wear them up to three-quarters. A V-neck and a nice airy fabric. The sandals walk like you are walking on cushions, so good, and you still have some heel. The earrings are super light and I also need to pay more attention to that. As you age, your earlobes also start to droop, pffff as if not enough is hanging. But heavy earrings just don’t look good on me anymore. Very annoying, because I almost only have heavy earrings. Another thing to accept. Haha, getting older is fun, but the external features that go with it are not!

You crack me up Nancy – yes, as if not enough is hanging, our ear lobes do too! Ha! You got that right.
I am so happy you got to see your brother in law and sister in law, you looked great! I love that your shoes are so comfortable!

Aw good that you are getting to see your relatives this weekend. January really is quite long. We just returned from visiting my parents and that was wonderful. And you got to sit in the garden. So did we. They weather was just lovely. And your dress is a killer. Just spot on casual chic. Love the cool and comfy look of your sandals. Enjoy your week. xo Sabina

Yes it has been to long since we seen family and friends isn’t it! Or perhaps we see them but not often!
I love everything about this outfit, Nancy. That dress is a show-stopper! Cute sandals and jewelry. And I love your hair up! I had to laugh at the “everything hanging” comment. So true! Unfortunately. But, as you say, getting older is really fun, too. It all depends on your outlook. And yours is fun and positive!

We are very careful too. Rather miss out of events then getting sick!
Happy Father’s Day! So glad you could make it out, Nancy, and that you were able to see your family after so long! Hurray!
I love your leopard dress – it’s such a good cut on you. How nice to have sleeves! They seem to be rather rare these days!
I hear ya on the heavy earrings – I’ve been gradually getting rid of my really heavy ones, and watching for lighter ones. Sigh, one more thing to droop!

Yes haha! But for every problem we have a solution!
I love that dress on you! The sandals are so cute too!

Thanks! I love those sandals more and more!
You look gorgeous in that dress. Glad you got to have some time out with family.

Yes it was so good to see them! Thank you!
Fabulous dress! You know how much I love animal print. Those sandals look very cushioned, just the sort of footwear I prefer. I know what you mean about earlobes – I’ve thought about getting mine pierced again higher up because some earrings just don’t sit right on me. I had my ears pierced when I was eight and the holes are too low down now. Glad to hear that got to spend some time with your family.

Would that be possible? I am not sure, I think I prefer lighter earrings. Although also the light ones hang! Haha, awful right!
A gorgeous dress, Nancy, I can totally understand why you couldn’t resist it. As do the sandals, which indeed look very comfortable. And comfortable is what we need, isn’t it? Our feet do age too 🙂 You made me smile with your earlobes remark, which of course is spot on. I’m glad to hear you were able to meet your in-laws and catch up. A worthy occasion for the first wearing of that dress! xxx
