What a wonderful sunny week, I really enjoyed it! And I cycled a lot too! In total this week 135 kilometres. Gerben took half a day off on Tuesday and then we went to the national park for the first time with our own bicycles by car. Previously that was never possible because our previous car did not have a tow bar and bicycle carrier.
Cycling in our national park
- Cycling in our national park.
- It’s so relaxing there.
- And cycling with Denise, we had McFlurry’s!
It was so fabulous! You can make a 45-kilometer round in the park via very well-constructed cycle paths. There are everywhere in the park white bicycles that you can grab and cycle on. You can also leave them anywhere you want. But I can’t cycle on a normal bicycle and have a e-bike. We rented one there a few years ago. But it is so much nicer to ride your own one. So beautiful there, so relaxing, it was wonderful to be out again!
On Wednesday morning I first went to the optician to put glasses in my new oxygen glasses. I’m going to write a separate post about that! And in the afternoon cycled with Denise! On Thursday I sat in the sun for a few hours and read a book, well in my e-reader. It was a bit chilly though. And I started 4 books and removed them after a couple of pages. I download them from my laptop, but always get the wrong ones on my e-reader. Don’t know why that is.
A very relaxed weekend and yes, I cycled
- I make soup for lunch every week. So easy, just a lot of vegetables and chili flakes!
- Isn’t navy and black just a good combination!
- This is what I wore on the days I didn’t cycle.
Saturday I first worked out and then fiddled around a bit in the house. Gerben was going to clean up the garage! Gerben is the best, sweetest and most wonderful partner I can imagine, but clean up …. no he doesn’t know that word. So the garage is a big mess after a couple of months, and then I tell him to clear it out.
In the evening he made delicious pea soup and we watched our favorite program. Who is the mole? That is so nice and relaxed on the Saturday evening. I have to say that I would really love it if we could meet up with friends again and play board games or go out for dinner, but the super cozy Saturday evenings with the two of us also have something so good..
On Sunday Gerben made another delicious breakfast and after we had brushed the cats, a ritual on Sunday morning, we went cycling. The wind was cold and it took hours before I got warm when we got home, but it was very nice again. In the evening Gerben made mousaka, and with a bottle of red wine I got warm. ( I didn’t drink the bottle, just had one glass!)
- Saturday night at our place.
- I made chili sin carne on Wednesday.
- Sundays breakfast! Pancakes and watching Countryfile!
I wish you all a good week!
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!
All of your cycling is just amazing. So glad you enjoyed your time riding about the park. Glad you have a carrier for your bikes now. I would like to take our bikes to different neighborhoods to ride. I am scared to ride out on busy street so like to stay in residential areas. And if we go off-roading we have to worry about briars that puncture the tires. Love your navy and black look but my fave is the green. Gimme all the green.

I don’t like to cycle in busy areas either, all that noice! Thanks Leslie!
Sounds like a wonderful week. Great you cycled so much and enjoy the nature.

Thanks Tina!
I just love that all cream outfit Nancy! And well done for the cycling. You are fitter than me! xx
Author
Haha, no I don’t think so Laurie! Thanks, I never wear cream but I liked this look a lot!
I bet it was so fun to cycle all around the National park. Much like hiking I always enjoy a good change of scenery and some new trails.
Author
Yes we love that too. And cycling or hiking in a beautiful nature area is so relaxing!
It’s great that you got some cycling in! Being outdoors always makes me happy! Love that first winter white look! So pretty!

It’s really wonderful to cycle when the sun is shining!
Impressive distance for the week cycling! I want to add a 2nd walk during the day when it gets warmer. I walk faster without my youngest but I can push him in the stroller during a morning walk.

Yes but I have to pay now for it! Lol.
Sounds like a great week and weekend! I am glad that you were able to get outside. Your Saturday night food and beverage look wonderful too! As much as I miss meeting up with friends, I have really been enjoying Saturday nights at home. I have been trying a new recipe every week and my husband and I have some wine and relax. I also found this YouTube channel called Walk Around the World and my favorite walking videos are the ones in Paris. It feels like you are there. 🙂 I also love that monochromatic look. Have a great day! XO

Oh that sounds like fun, that walk around the world! Have to try that! Thanks Caroline!
Wasn’t that lovely, early Spring weather gorgeous? It must have felt so good to go out cycling again, and even better if you can use your own bikes! Jos doesn’t know the meaning of clean up either. And when I tell him he should clean up his shelves of tools and bits and bobs in the basement, he tells me he won’t find anything back, and now he knows exactly where everything is!
I’m loving the cream outfit you’re wearing at the top of your post, and your blue skirt and black top is gorgeous too! xxx

Thanks Ann, yes it is so lovely to feel the sun on your face again! Don’t you and Jos ride a bicycle?
Oooh, loving this neutral look, lady! So chic!

I’m so impressed with all of your cycling! We bought e-bikes for Christmas and have started riding them around our city and along the coast, which is lovely. The idea of riding one in the park is so nice, however! You make me hungry for a good homemade soup and as rain is expected tomorrow, that will be perfect! Happy Tuesday, Nancy!

Yes it does, although I have to say that my body hurts a lot this week, I did to much!
Oh amazing to be cycling in the national park, and taking your own bikes. I love that all-cream outfit. Very chic. And you made navy and black look good together. I’ve never liked that combination before.
Author
No me neither, but with the shiny skirt I think it works!
Like Gerben, L is good at many things and is a great companion, but he cannot keep any area clean. I let him have his messy areas, but sooner or later I get mad and either throw it all away or reorganize it. He needs to keep every scrap of paper, it drives me insane.
Love your cream outfit, yes to navy/black and also to brushing cats. Vizzini loves being brushed, and he’s starting to get bushy with his winter fur nearly ready to shed.
Author
haha, I throw it away and then a hour later I think that was so childish of me and I put it all back!
Nancy, I’m loving the cream white outfit, so chic! Your cycling adventures sound wonderful, it’s so nice to be outside isn’t it x
Author
It is, I always find it very relaxing and energizing!
That dress/two piece is a stunner. I now want to find a copy! Well done on your cycling. I’ve started running again. Jacqui x

Thanks, it’s all Zara Jacqui!
Nancy, I am impressed with all of your cycling! And your cooking! I need to get better with meal planning over here. I am loving all of your outfits here, too. That first one in monochromatic ivory is really cool! You look fabulous as always, my friend! Thanks for linking.
