A week with totally nothing in my calendar! And still I have a short of time! But it was boring. How in the world did I ever do it when I was still working? How are working women doing all the things they do? The featured photo is related to the animals, although this one is not in my garden…..
Boring weekend
- The pre loved gingham suit that I wanted to buy new.
- Love these trousers.
- Black satin skirt and tee with golden studs.
Although I have been busy during the week, the weekend was super boring. Gerben unexpectedly had an emergency service because a colleague got sick. This then starts Friday evening through Sunday. That means we have nowhere to go because he has to leave within half an hour if he gets a call, and we can’t open a bottle of wine! Yes yes, there are worse things in the world.
Friday evening, during dinner, he got a call and had to leave. Good bye Friday night. Saturday is always a bit of a chore day and we had to arrange a lot of things. In addition, it rained regularly, so could not even read outside. And on Sunday Gerben got an early wake-up call and he had to leave again. And that lasted all day. Phew, so boring.
More animals and a fabulous dessert
- The black one is Castor, he is 5. The other one is Teun and he is 13.
- Magpie, view from my bedroom.
- Stray cat in the front garden.
I will continue with the animals in the garden. So many different birds, great tits(it really translated like this!) blackbirds, and magpies, of course. And a stray cat. But it cleans up the mice and rats so we leave him alone.
Since I exercise in the morning almost every day, I tend to walk around in those clothes until the afternoon, while I actually hate that. So now I change immediately after the work out. Feels so much better. Why have all these clothes when not wearing it right!
This dessert doesn’t look special or anything, I actually wanted to try it out before I serve it to any guests. So hence not in a nice bowl and not nicely laid out. But it is sooo good! What do you need? A piece of nougat, amaretto biscuits, meringue, dark chocolate, vanilla ice cream and espresso. Crumble everything fine. Put a cup of espresso in a dessert bowl, or glass, then a scoop of ice cream and then sprinkle the rest over it. Delicious!
- I love this outfit. King Louie blouse and satin skirt.
- This was so good!
- I love this Dorothy Perkins top, but not with this skirt.
This week will be a lot better and we have fun things for the weekend! Have a good week everyone!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
My daughter is married to an anesthesiologist and they can never make plans on his ‘on-cal’ week. On Thursday, Francisco went in at 6 am and was not home until late that evening. It is so hard for my daughter because she has 2 little ones and works from home so those are long days for her, too.
That gingham suit is precious!! I haven’t worn my gingham at all this year. I hope it will still be in fashion in 2021. I think the fashion world needs to let everything that was in style this spring and summer remain in fashion for next spring and summer. Especially since none of us have gotten to dress up much in 2020 so far.

haha, I think that will cost to much money to companies! But gingham always stays in fashion!
Love the gingham suit and that satin skirt outfit. Yes, I usually get out of my workout clothes right after working out. Since we are on vacation, this week is actually interesting but I know how it feels when you can’t plan anything fun. Thankfully hubby’s work is different nowadays than it was in the past and weekends are ours.

Normally they are ours too. He only has this once in 3 months or so.

Thanks Kathrine!
Oh, goodness. Gerben certainly had to keep busy. I love the checked suit on you–and your fabulous hair! I *wish* I could wear mine long! The dessert looks so good, I’m not sure you can even get nougat in the States… (Maybe online somewhere?)

Really not? That is a thing you don’t eat?
i laughed reading a sentence of your post!…boredom…it’s an interesting topic right now….even though i am so busy at home (cleaning the garage, building a garden shed, and sewing for my blog, and learning how to do all things social media), i am bored….it’s day in and day out of being home….covid is just starting to take off in our area, leaving me and my family regretting we didn’t get out more before!…

Yes, I regretted I didn’t went to the hairdresser before. But it’s the staying at home thing all the time that is taking it’s toll I guess!
Haha, I think we’re all dealing with a bit of boredom! The days just kinda run together… You, however, are keeping things stylish! And that dessert sounds so good!

Thank you very much Ashley!
It doesn’t sound that boring Nancy as I am rolling over with laughter. However, it seems that Gerben had a stressful weekend! The sheep standing on your hand is cool, haha!

Well……yeah you are right! Did Rob say that?
Ever since my working days have been temporarily reduced to only two days a week, I have been wondering the same. How did I manage when I worked full time. And more worryingly, how will I ever cope if I return to full time? Sorry to hear you weekend was spoiled due to Gerben being on call. Lovely to see Castor and Teun, who are both gorgeous! The dessert sounds absolutely delicious even if it looks a bit “rustic”, which is our expression for everything that doesn’t look perfect 🙂 Hope your next week and weekend will be less boring! xxx

Haha, yes rustic sounds good. Although I use that word for the interior of my brother in law! Lol. Same as that we here say: That”s different, and then we mean: well, don’t know about it!
I’m quite excited because next week there are several things in the calendar for a change! My gym is reopening for a start! Thanks for sharing at #WowOnWednesday.

Oh that is great Gail! Here, they are open since 1st of July and it’s so good to be back on track. You will like it too!
I love that gingham/checked suit. I have checked pants but would love a suit… Love your garden pics.
Author
Thanks Hilda, well there is something wrong with the suit! You will see in a few weeks!
Aw, sorry to hear about your weekend, Nancy, that sucks (more for Gerben than you!). I agree on getting changed into “real” clothes when you’re done working out – you feel so much better!
I love your views of/from the garden – aw, your cats are so lovely!
I would eat that dessert! It sounds amazing!!

That dessert was fantastic! I knew that it would be when I saw it on tv!

Nancy, the gingham suit is so amazing! It looks so great on you. I am so glad that you found it second hand! Sometimes a little boring down time is good for us! I have been bored for like 4 months. Haha. Let’s see how good it does me. Thanks for linking up!
