Going back in time with my new balloon trousers! But first let’s chat a bit. How is it where you live with the Corona virus? Has your country relaxed the rules? Do people still respect the distance rules? Are you allowed to go to restaurants yet? Just wanted to talk a bit about the status on Corona over here. I can’t believe it’s June already. It is as if the last months have not existed. Maybe that’s because we barely existed. Just stay inside, no social contacts, no fun events, film or shows to go to. All winter long I look forward to spring and summer, because I hate winter, cold. And then it is suddenly June and you still have nowhere to go to.
How we cope with Corona in balloon trousers
Well, that’s not true, thank God I went to the hairdresser again, after almost 5 months! These photos were made before I went. And to the nail stylist, friends come by every now and then, outside in the garden, and we visit them too, with 1,5 metres apart. So you see, life is getting slowly a bit normal again, which is nice. But it still doesn’t really feel free. Well I think making sure there is no second peak and helping your local entrepreneurs etc. is more important then having that freedom of course.
But I will also be happy when there is a vaccine. Have you already made plans to go on holiday a bit? In September or somewhere in that area? We still hope that we can go to England in September, otherwise in October, or in November! Doesn’t matter as long as we get there!
Balloon trousers like decades ago
Because the weather has been great the last few months, I wore a lot of shorts. I only bought this blouse and these trousers new. But…..haha, you knew that there would be a but…..I couldn’t resist this outfit! These trousers are balloon trousers and I looooove them! This exact design I wore when I was 21, in almost the same color! A bit more greenish back then. The color is gorgeous, especially if the skin is already a bit sun kissed. I told you I almost never wear blouses, here we go again, and yet this one is just perfect.
I think this monochrome look is just what the trousers need. Not to much fuzz. I am wearing very old but still adorable leopard print sandals. A turqoise statement ring. On the other hand I am wearing the wedding rings of my grandparents. After they passed away, I had them melted to each other. And a pair of loop earrings in almost the same color as the outfit.
Shop the balloon trousers look!

This is a fun monochrome look! It almost looks like a jumpsuit in some pics! 🙂 here almost everything will be open next month – even our borders with other states (people can’t visit us in Queensland without going through quarantine first at the moment!). We won’t be able to travel outside of Australia for some time though, but there is a lot to see here still! 🙂 Most shops are open but not everyone social distances, it’s tricky to enjoy shopping when people get so close!
Thanks for the link up!
Hope that you are having a good week 🙂

I went to a shop last Wednesday but won’t do that again! It was horrible. Have a great weekend Mica!
Nancy you look gorgeous in this look. I love the soft green colour.
In Germany we can go to the restaurant. On sunday we go for the first time since Bangkok out for lunch. I am looking farward. In our town is no more new Corona, but I hear in the radio about 100 persons in a flat?! Maybe they had a corona party? It’s strange this 2020. I am thankful for internet, to connect well with others.
Next week my Mum is coming from Thailand, if all is going okay, and she musst stay at home for 14 days. It s hard for her.
Stay healthy Nancy xxx

Oh but how great that she can come isn’t it! I am still afraid we will have a second outbreak. Have a good weekend Tina!
It’s good that you’ve managed to have a bit of pampering Nancy. We are not aloud that yet. I’m tinting my hair for the second time during lock-down and this signals how long we have been prisoner to this virus. The colour of the outfit is lovely and the balloon trousers suit your slim frame perfectly.

Yes the UK is two steps behind on us I believe. I really hope that you are able to go soon. Enjoy your weekend!
Such a super cute outfit and in one of my favorite colors!
In America, how it is with the Corona virus depends on which state you live. We’ve had a partial opening here in Nevada. Most businesses – including the casinos Las Vegas is famous for – are open at a reduced capacity with social distancing required and masks worn by the employees. People are encouraged to wear masks but probably about 50% don’t. A new rule – the first affecting customers – was instituted by the gaming board today. Masks must be worn by everyone at a gaming table. The state of California made masks mandatory in all public spaces today as their cases increased again. Ours have increased too, so I won’t be surprised if Nevada does the same thing.
We do wear our masks unless we are outside and not too close to anyone. We are still getting groceries and prescriptions delivered. The only thing we’ve done since the partial reopening is to dine at restaurant on the patio.

We all have to wear masks in the train and bus. I went for lunch with my girlfriend for the first time, outside of course. But other then that, no thank you. But it does feel weird. Where is the end?
These balloon trousers look good on you Nancy and I like the color! It’s so soft and pretty and I think your hair looks great! I hope a vaccine is developed soon too but it seems it will be awhile. Have a good weekend my friend!

Love the youthful vibe of your outfit a lot Nancy, it reminds me of my youth, I am sure I had something in similar style and looked very fashionable.

Nancy, I love this color on you! It is so light and fresh and pretty. And these balloon pants are really adorable! They look great on you! I hope you get to go on vacation in September! I have a friend in Canada who I really want to visit and it is only about an hour from my house, but who knows when the US/Canadian border will open. They keep extending the closure, putting my plans indefinitely on hold as well. Ugh.

Thank you very much Di!
Awful to think tomorrow is the longest day! Already. We’re still in lockdown more or less. No restaurants or hair salons open. Hoping to have a UK holiday in Sept. Love the turquoise and the balloon trousers look really good on you!
Author
Yes the Uk is still very restricted isn’t it! Let’s hope it will all soon be ,,normall,,. But I don’t think it will be.
What a pretty color for summer! I think I am going to try to book a little house either in the mountains or at the beach for next weekend as a getaway for our family. We haven’t gone anywhere since January and I think it would be nice. We have gotten together a lot with my sis in law and kids over the past month.

We are in phase III here in California which means that most places are reopening but with restrictions. We went to a local restaurant we like and they had only 30% capacity. It was actually really nice! Not so loud and crowded for a change. You look great in that pretty pastel color, Nancy! Love the balloon pants, too!
xx Darlene

I love it too that it is not crowded anywhere, except in shops. Thanks Darlene!
OMG, I think I had those identical trousers back in 1986!! Same colour and cut, exactly! The balloon style is not really one I think I’ll be trying – I’m just figuring out that wide-legged cropped trousers don’t work on me due to curviness and shortness (I’m 5’4″).
Thank you so much for the link-up! I’ll be joining you shortly.
My city is doing really well – we haven’t had a case in over a month. Although everything requires distancing, sanitizing, masks (sometimes optional, sometimes not), and contact tracing (sometimes), restaurants are open, and Victoria had the first movie theater open in Canada! Most businesses are open again, and kids are back at school till the end of the month. We’re still not allowed to travel between provinces, or to the US (the border is closed to non-essential travel), but we have so much more freedom than we did a couple of months ago. I am grateful for it. I do see far too many people not wearing masks in crowded areas, and not maintaining physical distancing, but I’m trying to be kind. We can only control ourselves and lead by example.
Happy weekend, Nancy! I so appreciate your kind words for my friend Karen. *hug*

I just adore this color on you Nancy. It makes you glow and we all need that. We are open more and more which is nice. We are looking forward to going back to Denver sometime…

I am loving this monochrome outfit on you, Nancy! The color is perfect for summer, and so are these pants! My area of Seattle (downtown) just got approved to move to phase 2 today, and I am excited for more restaurants to open as well as gyms and beaches! It will finally start to feel like summer. 🙂
I hope you have a fabulous week!

We are just coming out of lockdown in San Francisco—outdoor seating at restaurants just opened last week, but we have a month to go before hair salons can open! I know it’s better safe than sorry, but I have four inches of dark roots and cannot wait to have my hair colored!

RE: Covid here in the UK. The thing is our Alert Level has been reduced from 4 to 3. But really our numbers are still high. And the wording for Level 3 is ‘The virus is in general circulation’. Well, if that is so, it is still not safe here. I’d say watch and wait until it becomes Level 2 which has the wording, ‘Numbers of cases and transmissions are low’ – that’s what you need to see before you come over for a vacation. Meanwhile our government is relaxing nearly everything but it’s all about the economy and ‘herd immunity’ and not about our safety,
But Nancy being positive it may come down to Level 2 in time for a holiday this year – watch and wait and fingers crossed 🙂

Ah thanks Penny, but otherwise we will spend a few days in November. And perhaps not even this year anymore. We will be hoping !
The trousers and blouse are a perfect match, and in fact I initially thought it was a jumpsuit! That model of trousers would look horrible on me but they are just perfect on you. I remember the previous time they were around 😉 The situation here is slowly but surely improving and lots of restrictions have been relaxed in the last couple of weeks. We have friends visiting us for the first time since lockdown (or semi-lockdown as it was here in Belgium) this afternoon! We have re-booked our UK holiday for next June, but will go on a short trip inside Belgium end of August. Also, we are thinking of going to Zeeland in the Autumn! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a later UK holiday this year for you and Gerben! xxx
Author
Yes but I am doubting if we can go. Perhaps in November or so. Otherwise we will spend the September holiday in own country.
First of all, I love the trousers. The cut and color are gorgeous! Pennsylvania is pretty much open now, but with guidelines in place. Sadly those who follow the guidelines are hit or miss. I personally always wear a mask in public (and have quite a collection of them…lol) & always maintain social distancing. This morning I have my first hair appointment since December 7th which of course I’m super excited about!! I didn’t manage to get one in before everything closed down so my hair is like a wild beast…lol!

Haha, oh yeah I know. You will be so happy when you are there. Enjoy it! Are you already working at the school again, or still at home?
Your pants and blouse are such a happy color! The pants look so cute on you, I hope you get lots of wear out of them. Quite a few places are open here, but people are still very cautious.
Author
Here they are not. We can go everywhere now, only not festivals and concerts etc, but people don’t stick to the 1,5 metre rule.
Such a pretty monochromatic look. And I love the turquoise bling and fun earrings. And those sandals! WOW!! You look very happy and healthy – so glad for you. We have gone back to mandatory masks. Ugh. One step forward, two steps backward.
Author
Yes I know, but I think we go back to in a few weeks. People and rules….
Such a fun outfit! I love the monochromatic look. Covid restrictions started to lift here, but now they’re closing some things back up after a huge spike. Lots of people do not wear masks, nor do they social distance! I’m planning on bedazzling my mask, hehe. Everything’s better with sparkles, right?
