Heels are fashionable and versatile. When you pick the right pair, you can double your shoe potential. Instead of changing your outfit when you head from your day-to-day activities to your exciting nightlife, find you a pair of shoes that can do both. I have a few suggestions to inspire your fashion-forward ensembles. Heels that go effortlessly from day to night!
Retro-Inspired Ankle Strap Heels
The women of the 1930s, ’40s, and ’50s had a va-va-voom factor when it came to clothing and footwear—especially footwear. You can incorporate the vintage aesthetic into your daytime and nighttime looks with the right pair of shoes. Ankle strap heels are the way to go. To transition from day to evening, wear a fitted skirt with a demure shirt and a cardigan during the day. Once the sun goes down, swap your top for a shoulder-baring halter, or simply ditch the sweater and undo a few buttons on your blouse, then add a swipe of red lipstick.
Stylish Slip-Ons with a Heel
Creating an outfit that can go from the cubicle to cocktails often depends on the shoes. You want to wear shoes that are comfortable during your day-to-day activities but hot enough to draw attention when you hit the club scene or check out the new sushi place down the block. Slip-ons are ideal for that, but only if they have a heel. Think about high heeled clogs or mules, for example. To show off your shoes to their best advantage, wear something unexpected, such as a pair of cigarette pants or cropped jeans.
Sizzling Sandals
Don’t think that sandals can go from day to night? Better think again! The right pair of sandals can be dynamite for daytime activities, and they can sizzle just as much after sundown. The secret here is to choose embellished sandals, preferably with a little bling. Rhinestones and sequins will serve you well, but stick with a black base for a daylight dynamic, particularly if you’ll be at the office or at school. Black matches everything, and you can switch out your jeans or dress pants for a mini skirt or short shorts.
Animal Print Anything
Animal print footwear is in, in, in. It’s a timeless pattern that’s so on-point, it’s basically a neutral (with a little kick) these days. Any style of animal print shoes can transition from the boardroom to the bar. We love pointy-toed shoes for this trend, though. Better still, you can wear them with everything from maxi dresses to your favorite flared jeans.
A Little Chunk
Who doesn’t love chunky platforms? The throwback favorite is back again and bolder than ever. Funnily enough, you can get by with a popping color during the day and once night falls. Here’s your chance to wear something unexpected, such as a bright blue hue or sunny yellow.
Outrageous Ankle Boots
Round out your transitional shoe collection with ankle boots. They’ll become the most versatile shoes in your arsenal. Ankle boots pair stylishly with dresses, mini skirts, and jeans, not to mention your favorite cocktail dress. Black or brown will match most of your outfits, but if you love statement footwear, then a vivid hue is a must.
Do you have shoes that transition effortlessly from day to night? Tell me how you work the look!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.

I love your sandals in the first pic! I really like that type of heel as it is easier to walk in and I feel like they look great with dresses or jeans.

They are the most beautiful and intriging( can you say that of shoes?) sandals I ever had!
Those chunky heels with your first outfit are gorgeous, as are the yellow ankle boots with the second one. If I wear heels, they won’t be high, and preferably chunky. I wouldn’t even make it through the day on high ones! xxx

Sitting in a wheelchair when we are going somewhere does have a advantage! Lol!

Indeed! Especially block heels!
Oh, the yellow booties. I remember loving them in a prior post. You are the perfect person to style them and wear them with confidence. I am finding myself drawn to yellow more and more.
Sadly, I gave away some of my favorite, most interesting heels because they HURT. My days of struggling through 9 hours on aching feet are over. Would like to find a new pair of kitten heels in black and nude. Should put that on my summer bucket list!

Kitten heels are perfect aren’t they! I can’t walk on high heels anymore either. Because I get so quick out of breath when walking on high heels!
It’s a bonus when shoes or sandals can transition from daytime to evening. I simply adore your last outfit with the outrageous ankle booties! You look ready for the runway! WOW!!

Haha, yes you are like me! Shoe addicts!
I’m all over ankle strap shoes – they are some of my favourites. Nancy, I LOVE those sandals in the first photo – that’s the way I do a high heel now, all platform, baby! I also adore your ankle boots. So cute!
Most of my shoes and outfits go day to night pretty easily. Maybe one day we’ll get to go out at night again!?? I am dying for house parties.

I am dying to have dinner with friends! I am really missing that! But we just have to be patience and sit this one out!
You have such great taste, Nancy! I’ve given up heels for the most part, but I still like to look. (And I missed this post somehow, so I’m glad you shared it on Creative Compulsions.)
