Weekly recap: the good, the busy, the random

weekly recap

Time for my weekly recap again. Saturday, working out, but not my arms because I still have a lot of pain in my chest. I took diclofenac on Friday evening and continued to do so for the rest of the weekend. That was nice for a while. I only felt a slight pain. So I did quite a lot in the afternoon, under which taking photos for the blogseries. It really felt like spring weather on Saturday. We didn’t have anything planned for this weekend, so Saturday evening was a lovely relaxing TV evening. Sunday we went to the park, it was very foggy and cold. But it was good to get out for a bit. We waved to my dad, because we scattered his ashes there three years ago.

Weekly recap

weekly recap

Sunday night I was awake half the night with stomach cramps. Think it was from the painkillers. I forgot I also had to take stomach protectors. I almost never take painkillers. So I stopped taking them, but unfortunately, the pain did return. I finally called the GP for an appointment. Monday afternoon I went to the nail-stylist. Didn’t workout because I didn’t have enough time, unfortunately.

Tuesday morning I had to go to the dentist. Why do I make these appointments so early? It was so cold on the bicycle, it’s only five minutes away, but still…. I never have any problems, luckily I have very strong teeth. At the dentist’s, I’m out in two minutes, and at the dental hygienist’s in half an hour and my mouth still hurts after a few days. I worked out at home because I was late for my gym class.

Finally a answer about my chest pain

In the afternoon, I got a call back from my GP about my chest pain, which is causing me a lot of stress. She wanted to see me first, so that is on Wednesday. In the evening, we went to my in-laws, who were celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. What a long time! On Wednesday, I had to get up early again because the boiler was being checked. And in the afternoon, I had an appointment with my GP.

She checked my heart and lungs and examined my chest, and everything was fine. There was a painful spot where the intercostal muscles are located. So it’s an overuse injury to my accessory muscles, which are activated during extreme shortness of breath. And an overuse injury to my pectoral muscle. So I was incredibly relieved. Let’s continue with my weekly recap.

weekly recap

That evening, the interior stylist stopped by, and we discussed what we want and, more importantly, don’t want in the living room. She will come back with a plan in four weeks. I’m very curious. Back to the gym on Thursday and went over a new training schedule with the physiotherapist. My old schedule is getting too strenuous and one-sided. I’m looking forward to my new schedule. He also immediately pointed out that I need to take more rest between exercises and pay more attention to my breathing. Practice makes perfect. Friday is cleaning day.

The jacket is faux suede, you might have seen it here before. I think the colour is just gorgeous. And I am wearing my favourite suede ankle boots. Have you seen the jeans already, don’t think so. As you can see, I am wearing those a lot!

That was my weekly recap, hope to see you next week again and enjoy your weekend.

Glad to hear the doctor’s appointment resolved some of your worries, I take my hat off to you for your dedication to exercise, even though it’s not always comfortable. Have a good weekend

Thank you very much Gail. When I exercise I am in a sort of bubble, but afterwards I feel the fatigue.

I’m so glad you now know what the chest pain is all about. Hopefully this will ease with the change to your physio exercises. Also I know what you mean about painkillers that need that protective medication taken alongside. I can’t tolerate those, so I just take the most basic painkillers for my trapped nerve.

Hope the weather is sunny so you can have a good weekend. Love the outfits.

Yes me too, but this pain was to bad. But I hate painkillers. Today the sun is out! But super cold. I hope it is sunny with you too!

Love the faux suede jacket! I also adore all the weekly looks. So glad you got an answer about your chest pain. I forget to rest as well sometimes and end up pulling a muscle. Getting old sucks! Lol!

I enjoyed reading about your week! Medicines have so many side effects, some make my mom feel so sick to her stomach that she can’t eat or drink for 3 days (it’s happened twice and we stopped those… increased dosages were not good for her). Hope it is starting to feel better. I really like your jacket. It feels like spring here in the afternoons but we have to remember it is still winter because the nights and mornings are barely above freezing.

Here it is so weird, one day it feels like spring and the other is so cold with temps that are below zero during the day. We are not used to that!

Oh Nancy, I am so glad that your chest pain turned out to be muscular stress instead of something worse. I shoveled some very heavy wet snow this week and ended up with that same kind of chest pain that is hard to distinguish between muscular or something worse. It freaks me out every time it happens! But it always turns out to be just over used and sore pectoral muscles. I really love this current color palette that your outfits all fall into. The blues, browns, and reds are such gorgeous colors on you and that new suede jacket is stunning. I love it paired with your new jeans. I have lots of firewood chores and photoshoots planned for this weekend with lots more snow supposedly coming next week. I hope you have a restful and wonderful weekend, my friend!

Nancy, I admire your fortitude and discipline in your exercise regime! So glad you and your doctors have worked out that the chest pain was overworked muscles, and not worse. Roger has an artificial heart valve, and any pain anywhere near his heart is a red alarm! It frequently turns out to be muscular, but we must be aware and check it out. I love this outfit with your new suede jacket, and love the way you styled it with your similar color suede boots. Also love the look of the belted jacket. Hope you have a nice weekend and thanks so much for hosting the link up!

I hope the muscle injury heals soon, but I’m glad it’s nothing to worry about. I love the jeans, the style is great. The faux suede jacket looks fabulous with the belt – I have a similar one which I’m going to try with a belt now!

What a rich brown color in that darling jacket. Reminds me of milk chocolate!! YUM!! It is so stylish and fits you beautifully. Really happy to see you wearing jeans. I think I remember correctly that there was a time several years ago when you rarely wore them. You wear them so well.

Thankful your chest pain was just muscular and nothing more serious. Hope by now the pain is completely gone and you are back to normal.
