Tie dye! Okay, so Shelbee wanted this theme for a long time, and I didn’t have any tie dye. The two items I showed on the reminder and here are old ones. But when I received a coupon for a online store and saw a gorgeous tie dye skirt I thought, yes lets do Shelbee a favour. You see, I do anything for my blogging friend! Lol. I will show the skirt in a post here on my blog, but for now you have to hop over to Shelbee’s to see it!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc. But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Tie dye
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
I recently bought these tie dye genie pants at a local shop called Rainbow Zen. They specialize in all sorts of tie dye and hippie apparel. These are so comfortable. They are made from 100% cotton so they are perfect for hot summer days. Definitely a Good Buy at $25. I have already worn them 5 or 6 times and I have only owned them for about 6 weeks!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I was telling Shelbee that I didn’t have much tie dye until last year. But the pieces I do have, I really love. Like this dress from Peach since it fits so well and is cool in the heat.
Of course I had to add bright pink to the mix, LOL
Joanne of Slices of Life

I adore tie-dye although I prefer the more monochromatic motifs like the one in this photo as opposed to multi-colored ones. This dress has become a Spring/Summer staple for me as I worn it several times already and never the same way twice. Now that’s a good buy.
And here are my tie dye outfits

August’s theme will be: Stripes!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!
I would love it if you would share your outfits with #nancysfashionstyle and tag @nancysstyle! Thanks!

Pretty. I Love the skirt, I like a subtle tie dye and this is perfect!!

Thank you very much Andrea!
Love both of your tie dyed pieces. But I don’t do linen, either!! Those wrinkles.
Funny how Joanne was wanting to return her tie dyed dress until she tried it as a cover up and fell in love with it!! Shelbee’s genie pants are so HER. Love the whimsy and the comfortable styling. I bought a tie dyed tee online this spring to wear with my overalls but it is very oversized and just feels sloppy. Definitely a Good Bye!!

Thanks for the link up!
Hope you are having a good week 🙂

Me neither Mica, although I think it would look great on you. A maxi tie dye skirt!
Love the skirt! I don’t really own that much tie dye but I love all of these looks! Thanks for hosting and happy Friday!

I agree with you Nancy. I like it if its monochromatic. Have a lovely weekend xx

Thanks Laurie, have a good one too. The sun will be shining so you and Dee can enjoy your garden!
I agree with Rena, I like tie dye that has the one color best too – on me. But I love seeing all the variations and it has certainly become something that everyone can wear! Thanks for the link up!

I appreciate tie dye much more now that I have seen all the options! Thanks Kellyann!
This was such a fun theme! I too will give away clothing rather quickly if it requires a lot of care/ ironing when I first get it; even if I do sometimes regret it later.
Author
Yes, but like someone mentioned, we can’t save it all! Lol.
I was at Shelbee’s blog and loved your new tie skirt! What a deal. Tie dye is my fave print for summer and I adore all these looks! Thanks for the link up Nancy!

Is it Kathrine? Thanks!
Yay for tie dye! Thanks for indulging me on this theme, Nancy! I love all the tie dye looks. Joanne tee shirt dress is so cute for a cover up. And Rena’s dress is so similar to my favorite summer dress that I shared recently. I do like the more monochromatic tie dyes as well, but bursts of color are totally my summer jam! Up next…stripes! Have a fabulous weekend, my friend!

Yes I agree on the monochrome ones. I like tie dye now much better then I used too, lol.
I do like the subtle tie dye of your skirt Nancy . I enjoyed seeing the variety of outfits on everyone. I am not a fan of it for me , I wore way too much as a teenager. Many thanks for hosting Nancy.
Author
Thanks Jill. I don’t remember I wore it a lot bak then, did do soe tees myself but I was never a fan either.
I did not think I liked tie dye but I love both of yours. I used to tie dye my tee shirts way back when I was a teen.
Author
Haha, yes indeed, I did that too! Always was such a surprise how it would turn out!
Oh I’m so annoyed with myself, had the tie dye dress already to take photos and forgot! Super post Nancy, thanks for hosting the linkup too. Have a super weekend. Jacqui x

Ah Jacqui where is your head at!! Lol. Perhaps next month with stripes!
Love your tie dye skirt! Thanks for the party.

Thanks Amy, my pleasure!
Love that skirt and so many good tie dye looks! I bought a turquise and blue tie dye dress for the beach photos and will wear next week on the blog. Seems I am late to the party
I love the print in your silky skirt!

I hopped on over to Shelbee’s to see your new skirt: beautiful! I am like you sometimes when I donate something and then regret it but I haven’t done that much lately.

No me neither, this dress I gave away a few years ago. Thanks Mireille!
You are such a good sport Nancy with the tie dye. I have to admit that the dress you gave away is fabulous. I’m trying to embrace wrinkles of all kinds…on my face AND in my clothing!!

Haha, I don’t mind them in my face, but not my clothing!
Nancy, the tie dye dress is gorgeous! I hear you about giving things away and later wishing you had them back. The closet is only so big, though! Loved the great variety of tie dye looks on all the ladies. Mireille’s creations for the whole family is so inspiring. Have a good week and thanks for sharing!

Don’t her boys just look so lovely! Thanks Di!
I don’t have any tie-dye either, so I would definitely have struggled with this theme!
I’m loving that shirt dress’s sizzling colours, though, what a pity you gave it away. I hopped over to Shelbee’s blog too, just to see your skirt, and it’s absolutely fabulous! xxx

What a fun challenge, Nancy! I have not been a fan of tie dye since I was a kid, but I do see it everywhere these days!
I hope you are having a great week so far!

I love this feature. I have mixed feelings about the tie dye trend. I liked it when it was in years ago, but I’m not sure am I really to take it on again. That skirt looks lovely on you but if the material was heavy, then selling was the right thing to do.

Thank you very much Ivana!
I love your fun tie dye dress and skirt! It can be such a casual print so it’s great to see it used on a more classically cut item.
Author
And not only boho style right? I agree!
I love your tie-dye skirt ant that shirt dress is fabulous! Love seeing everyone’s tie-dye looks! Thank you for the linkup and have a wonderful weekend!

Both of your tie-dye pieces are very pretty Nancy, love the bright colours of the dress

Yes that is actually a pretty good dress right? Should have kept it!
Even though these are all such fun outfits, I am just not a tie-dye gal, I’m afraid! They just read too boho for my taste/style.
Lovely looks, everyone! Thanks so much for the link-up, Nancy!
Author
Yes I can understand that. I usually feel the same way.
As a fellow tie-dye lover, I am enjoying all these different ways you ladies are wearing it!

I love seeing all the tie-dye! I had intended to participate, but didn’t get it done. Too busy getting ready for the trip. Your tie dye skirt looked good, but I hate when a material feels weird. I also love your shirt dress, but yes, linen wrinkles are a problem.
