Isn’t this a lovely theme? Maxi skirts/dresses! And that coming from me says a lot. I never liked maxi skirts or dresses that much and never wore them until this last summer season. I received a gift card and thought: lets give it a try! And bought this fabulous skirt! And that was it, now I am loving maxi skirts/dresses!
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series after we had hosted The Bad Buy Book for a year. Now we are ready for a new challenge! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book about?
It is a collage of outfits! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We will keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.
But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you also wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Maxi skirts/dresses!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
At the beginning of the pandemic, I bought this tie dye maxi dress from some fly by night online retailer that no longer exists. The other two dresses I ordered from there were duds but this tee shirt dress has turned out to be one of my favorite dresses ever. Definitely a Good Buy!
Salazar of 14 Shades of Grey

I bought this maxi for a possible plane outfit. I love dresses when traveling because they make it easier to go to the bathroom!!
I’m glad you pushed me to do this because I’m going to style a post about ways to make a maxi work for the winter. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Sheila of Ephemera
It is a bit of a nature-magnet when I wear it “in the wild” (aka outdoors), as it picks up sticks and leaves from the ground. Despite this, it’s one of my favourite black skirts (and I have many) due to the sheer Drama of swanning about in it. It’s most definitely a Good Buy!
I wore it for hosting my mom for lunch, both with my turquoise sweater (and slippers!) and with a Tool concert tee when I had a hot flash!

And here is my maxi skirt.
Definitely a Good-Bye! Why did I buy this one? I guess just to try a maxi skirt. Well it was pre loved and I already sold it on. I just wanted a maxi skirt and tought the colors would be nice. They are, but not on me.
December’s theme will be: Sparkles!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!
I think that colorful maxi is gorgeous on you Nancy. It’s so funny how we don’t like new things on us at first. That’s why I will keep something for awhile, because you just never know!!

Thanks Michelle, but it wasn’t me at all.
I could beat myself up for not participating. In fact, I was fully prepared to send in a photo but … life got in the way, I guess. Such a shame that maxi skirt is a goodbye for you. I think it’s gorgeous! xxx

Oh no! Perhaps next month with sparkles!
I had forgotten about maxi skirts for quite some time; they used to be my favorite mom outfit in the summer paired with scoop neck tees and flip flops. I bought 2 at the end of August and am determined to wear them again when the weather warms up.
