Have no idea why, but this outfit makes me think of music! So let’s talk about what music does for you. Do you also feel that music can make you so emotional, happy or sad? Or that you still have those songs in your head a week after a concert? So I had it after the festival, but also after concerts. Throughout the week, certain songs will stay in your head and take you back to the festival or concert. Love that.
Outfits and music

But I also have periods when I can hardly listen to music. After my father’s death, 1,5 years ago, it took more than a year before I could listen, or acyually enjoy, music again. I clean my house every Friday, while I put on Spotify and sing along. The music is on very loud, so loud that you really should wear earplugs. I find that really relaxing. But I couldn’t do that for over a year. After two or three songs I started crying and turned the music off again. Because most songs brought me back to a time my father still lived. Now I can slowly start to enjoy music again. That’s what music does to me. Do you have that too? Now on to today’s outfit.
Not a perfect look, but I liked wearing it

The boyfriend jeans is a favourite, and my only jeans at the moment. Never had jeans that fit so good as this one. It’s super elastic and the perfect lenght for me. Have to watch it that I am not wearing it too often, I have a reputation to uphold. The tee is a bit tiny but not to bad, I just liked the colours.
These sandals I am grabbing for when I want a bit of a 70s vibe in my outfit, like this outfit, also with similar colours. Blue and brown is a perfect combination in my eyes. I am wearing very old wooden bracelets and a yellow one just to add some more yellow to the outfit. And leaf earrings. This is not a outfit that I would wear often, it’s a easy one for when I go cycling. But it’s out of balance. The tee is to short for these jeans, it would look better on high waist ones, and the sandals look much better on wider trousers or skirts. It’s all a bit shapeless. However, I did like my inspired by music outfit!

Music has a huge impact on our emotions. I’m glad you are starting to be able to listen again. This outfit is so chic! Love your tee and sandals!

Oh gosh this is so true. Music takes us to many places and plays with our emotions wonderfully. I love all genres and at the moment list to classic on the radio, it’s so calming xx great outfit choice too, thanks for sharing and hosting the linkup. Jacqui x
You look really cool in that outfit – it really really suits you!
This is the perfect music festival outfit! Love the sandals for the 70’s pop of style. Music is very important to me so I get it when you can’t stop thinking of a song you heard. I don’t think I can be as drastic as you have been and not listen for a long time. But I completely understand because I do think of memories when I hear some songs. Thanks for the link up Nancy!

I really like the green and the browns: going to have to try to put something together in that color combination! I love this outfit! I don’t listen to music very often, especially when I have been around my kids a lot: the constant chatter and questions and arguing makes me wish for silence! But I do enjoy music at times, mostly soundtracks from a few movies and the boys and I like to listen to violin pop music too.

Nancy I totally agree with you about music. In fact I was just thinking the exact same thing when I was driving this morning. I have a few favourite songs that I have to sing very loudly lol. Your outfit is FAB and reminds me of the FAME song from the early 80s? I don’t know why…probably because it’s such fun and you look amazing in it.
Big hugs

It’s fascinating how music can evoke such strong emotions and memories, isn’t it? This blog post beautifully captures the powerful connection between what we wear and the music that resonates with us. Music has an uncanny ability to transport us back in time, often to moments that are deeply personal, like the loss of a loved one. The way you describe reclaiming your love for music after such a difficult period is both moving and relatable. It’s a reminder that our relationship with music—and fashion—is deeply intertwined with our life experiences.
As for your outfit, I love how you’ve used it as a canvas for expressing your musical mood. Even if it feels a bit “out of balance” to you, there’s something refreshingly honest about that. After all, fashion isn’t always about perfect pairings but about wearing what feels right in the moment.

Let me also add a very big Thank you for featuring me. I appreciate.
Nancy, you know I love a throwback outfit and this one is perfect! You look casual and so chic, and the jeans are a perfect fit. I can see why they are your favorites! I can totally relate to your connection to music. I can be in the grocery store, and some random 80s pop song will come on the piped in music Tears will come to my eyes at a memory that resurfaces. Thanks for sharing and the link up and hope you have a great weekend
Music can be very evocative indeed. I’ve only to hear the first notes of a song to take me way back in time, or remind me of something or someone. And this can either be a good or a bad thing, too.
As for your outfit, I think it’s absolutely perfect! I’m swooning over those sandals! xxx
Those jeans look like they were made for you! I really enjoy listening to music and it can invoke feelings but it doesn’t always.
I don’t listen to music much. For some reason, I like quiet, but music is good for our soul.
Great look and very chic.

Music definitely influences how I feel. I’ve experienced some losses and can’t listen to certain songs for a while afterwards. I’m glad you can listen to music again.
You can make anything look chic and trendy. This is such a simple formula but so successful. And you have the bestest figure!! Perfect 70s vibe.
I have certain songs/sound tracks for each chapter of my life. We belong to a writing group and one of the members is even writing a memoir of the songs he associates most with his life, decade by decade. It has been such an interesting piece, the bit he has shared with us. And now PC and I would like to do the same thing with music that reflects our seasons.
Looking very cool and my post this week is all about music. Very nice.
I understand why you were not able to listen to music for a while, but I am happy that you are able to enjoy it again. I listen to music when I’m at the gym or when I am home doing chores or reading. Anyway! I think that this outfit is cool, and you look fantastic! Have a wonderful day!
It’s a very cool outfit, makes me think of the 70s and rock ‘n roll!

You look great in jeans Nancy, and I love the 70s vibe. Oh yes, I am a music major and love guitar, so the 70s was my favorite , along with the 80s for guitar music. I broke up with my college boyfriend, and wasn’t able to listen to Wonderful Tonight, for quite awhile, so I get it!
