This months theme is chosen by me and is called: My music icon! Can you guess who mine is?
Welcome to the monthly edition of Match made in Seven! We are a international group of fashion bloggers who meet once a month. One of us chooses a theme in turn, and that can be anything. A book, music, a color, a movie. And then we style an outfit based on that theme. It’s fun to collaborate with other fashion bloggers! Don’t forget to visit my blogger friends and see how they interpreted the theme of this month!
My music icon for 40 years!
Those of you who know me a little bit by now, and I am a, what you see is what you get person, know that I am a big fan of The Cure. We have seen them several times, this year on Pinkpop. I have been a fan since I first heard A Forrest on the radio when I was fourteen. I was immediately taken by that song. For me that is still the most beautiful song ever, of all bands! When I see them perform live, I enjoy them with goose bumps on my arm for 3 hours.
So I wanted to do this theme, My Music Icon, for Match Made in Seven, so that I could imitate Robert Smith! Not because I really like his looks, okay the black is okay of course, but because he is my ultimate music icon! I hope I can see them perform live a few times more, because well they also get older don’t they!
I am really looking forward to see what my fashion blogger friends have made of this theme and what their icon is. Please also visit their fabulous blogs!

Would really appreciate it if you would share my outfit on Pinterest! Just hoover over the photo!
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
I had to go listen to A Forest on YouTube, I’d never heard it before. In fact, scrolling down a list of “The Cure’s Greatest Hits,” I was surprised by how long they were recording and how many songs I didn’t recognize. I thought they were just like early-mid 80s, you learn something new every day!
You look great – you could easily wear that outfit just as a normal look!

Wow, Nancy, you made us all work pretty hard on this one! I honestly thought there would be a couple Country Western icons but no way! Here you are channeling an alternative rocker!! I love it! Your outfit is perfect, too! Well done challenge, my friend!

I love “A Forest” – my first exposure to the Cure was in the early 80s, when “Standing on the Beach” came out.

It could only have been Robert Smith, it was the hair which gave it away 😉 I fell in love with The Cure’s first album, which I played on repeat on my old cassette player. But The Forest must be my favourite too, such a hauntingly beautiful song! xxx

Haha, yes! My favorite albums are Seventeen Seconds and Faith! Sometimes I can’t even listen to their songs as they make me so emotional!
I don’t know The Cure but I do know that you look amazing in this all-black outfit! Super cool, Nancy! I need to look up that song.

When you would wear a leather mini skirt and a mustache I would know it’s Freddy Mercury. LOL.
