Was that really the highlight of the week? That the owl is back? Well a little bit. Lol. I had a pretty super relaxing week. With few appointments and few things that really had to be done. And no loose ends to tie up, so nice. The weekend was also wonderfully relaxed and that’s where the owl comes into the picture.
How was my week
- I wore this one again with black leggings, but I better should have worn black trousers.
- Navy fine knitted dress with white slippers.
- Yes, you see it correctly, new jeans!!
Gerben had the Monday of, after our wonderful weekend away. But the yard was full of weeds from all that sun and rain, so he was busy all day. Me too, with working out and blogging. And Eve, our household help, was there again. So happy with her. At one point I felt like the lady of the manor with someone busy in the garden and in the house! Felt a bit Hyacint isch! Went to the gym on Tuesday, got wet on the way there and back. Wednesday I had to go to the dentist.
I have very strong teeth, so the dentist is always ready in 5 minutes. But I also always have a lot of plaque, of what? I have no idea, I don’t drink much coffee or tea, probably spicy food. I use a lot of spices in my food. But the dental hygienist is always busy for half an hour.
Thursday evening I had a Teams meeting. Very interresting. Our municipality has to make huge cutbacks and therefore do so on matters that affect the citizens. We try to counter that a little bit. We had some good discussions.
The owl is back
- He, or she of course, looks so lovely!
- I want to cuddle it!
- I know you can’t cuddle a owl, but isn’t is such a gorgeous one!
Friday cleaning day. Saturday morning Gerben and I had a visit from the volunteer center, who are making a campaign about carers. So no working out for me on Saturday. And in the afternoon I spent the whole time reading a book in the garden. And then I spotted the owl in the tree.
I once mentioned that there was a nest in the back of our garden, somewhere in April I think, but we hadn’t seen them for a long time. And there he was, pretty close. I saw it at about one or two o’clock and in the afternoon, and when we went in, half past ten or so, he was still sitting there.
We had hoped to see him fly but he just stayed put. The pictures of the owl are zoomed in so it might look a little weird. But it is such a beautiful owl, it’s a long-earded one! And every time we walked in, he followed us with his head. Beautiful huh. In the evening the two of us had a barbecue, oh oh so delicious.
On Sunday Gerben and I first worked out and then brushed the cats. This has to be done every Sunday and is no fun for the old cat. But with a treat afterwards, the suffering is quickly forgotten. I spent the rest of the day reading again, the owl was unfortunately not there. And Gerben made pizza in the evening. Formula 1 was awful! No more words for it.
- Pancakes with strawberries! Sunday’s breakfast! Yes I am a spoiled princess…
- Peppersteak and salad and bread with oil and garlic, and of course some wine!
- My happy place.
- Such a lovely view, all those beautiful flowers and colors.
- Homemade pizza
I wish you all a wonderful week. Mireille of Chez Mireille showed on her blog yesterday a monochrome black look inspired by mine! Do take a look please! So lovely, thank you very much Mireille!
Glad to be reminded that I want to make homemade pizza for supper one night this week. How fun to see you in a new pair of jeans and styling that pretty pink dress with the geometric print again. The owl looks almost scary to me!! Those huge eyes. But beautiful.

What a lovely owl! I have only ever seen one in the wild and did not manage to get a photo. Looks like you ate really well too; so many yummy foods.

It was so close Joanne, and so beautiful!
Owls are so beautiful – but scare the heck out of me! I think it’s because they sit so perfectly still and then startle me when they move!
We use Teams for meetings at work all the time – I kind of like it better than Zoom for larger meetings.

I want to cuddle the owl too! Owls are one of my favorite birds. I would love to go to an owl cafe. (I think they have them in Japan.) Love all your chic looks!

It is really cool to be able to see an owl in the wild! We have all kinds of bird in our backyard and once a red tail hawk decided to sit on the birdfeeder but usually it is just little cute birds. I love your grey skirt! I haven’t worn my grey skirt in a while and need to pull it out. Pairs with everything. Your pancakes look amazing, yum!
