Last week was a wonderfully relaxed week. Relaxed in the sense of not having to deal with things, no loose ends. I can always get so groggy about things that aren’t done, or haven’t been finished. So I had some free time on my hands, I read a lot in the garden and worked out on Wednesday too. Although the sun hardly shines here, the temperature is good. I’ve been “safe” since yesterday, which is a nice feeling, but I’m not going to visit busy places, and I still wear a mask where there are more people. While we are not obligated over here.
No loose ends feels relaxed!
- I now have 3 pink nails and the rest is bright red!
- Lunch, salmon salad.
- I asked on IG to keep or not to keep. It was 50/50. Yeah, that was helpfull, but I kept it!
- I would never ever wear this other then on the bicycle!
Last Monday we had help in the household for the first time since months. Wednesday Denise came over to have a cup of tea and a chat. I received a package from Zara, had to have some shorts, are handy for cycling…..And if you do have something delivered, you better order some more…..I also ordered jeans and I even kept them!!! On Friday morning I had an appointment with the nail stylist, so it wasn’t a whole day of cleaning. After the nails I went to a store to look for some nice things for the lounge set in the garden. But it soon became to busy for me, so I was out quickly. It will take me a long time to lead a bit of a normal outdoor life again.
Nothing special to do
- Saw this stork, what a huge bird.
- Love to watch these birds.
- Castor under a blanket on the couch.
- Bee near my feet on the sunbed.
Saturday first worked out and then cleaned the car inside. I sat outside in the afternoon, reading. Sunday we went for a bicycle ride, just two hours before it started to rain. We saw a stork very close by. Those are huge birds. Gerben had cooked deliciously in the evening, steak with potatoes and stewed pears with walnuts and roquefort. Delicious. Watched Formula 1 in the evening, Max won again, great!
I’ve now found that I’ve been looking at Broadchurch the wrong way round. I’m working on season 3 now and thought that was part 1….. Anyway I watched it again, even though I already know it, such a beautiful series.
Don’t you just hate it when you have a lot of loose ends. I just can’t stand it. I want things to sign of my list and it seems that in these past year and a half loose ends are more in my life then before. People and companies seem to take so long before you get a answer via mail. Or even keep an appointment. So it really felt very good that this past week I had no loose ends and I hope it will stay that way for a couple of weeks!
- Roses in our garden, what a color!
- Hydrangea, that’s my favorite and we have several in our garden.
- Another gorgeous hydrangea.
- Don’t know what these are but the color is fantastic.
Have you read the tie dye reminder of yesterday’s post? Everyone can join! You don’t have to be a blogger. So we are hoping to see a lot of you in your tie dye outfit!

That stork is beautiful: it is nice to see them in the wild. I am the same way with to do lists: this week I am really not doing anything except for packing for the weekend. Packing for a short trip is almost as packing for a long trip especially when flying. That dinner Gerben cooked sounds amazing. I love steak and I love Roquefort!

I hate having loose ends too, and sometimes it seems these things are never-ending and there’s always a loose end lurking somewhere at the back of your mind!
Fancy seeing a stork close by, that must have been utterly thrilling!
Love the flowers in your garden and Castor under his blanket on the couch.
I had to laugh at you watching Broadchurch backwards. No wonder it didn’t make sense. But I wouldn’t have minded watching it again either! xxx
I’m the same way about loose ends. I try to get things done before the end of the day so I can start the next day fresh….if possible.
I think you should wear the jeans sometime. WITH those yellow ankle boots (that I still covet and will find some one of these days)

I don’t like loose ends either. I like crossing things off the list. I like your bicycling outfit. It sounds like it was a great week. I’ve heard good things about Broadchurch. Castor is SO cute! Enjoy your day!
Things keep needing fixing, repairing or otherwise needing to be dealt with in my life lately. I just want it all to slow down and be fine for a while, so I totally get that need, Nancy!
I like your vibrantly-patterned outfit! I’d keep it too.
I’ve been painting one pinky nail with polish for a while – I like the “fanciness” of it, but don’t have to worry about it chipping. I replace it weekly. One nail is easy!
Take care, my dear friend. Have a good weekend full of Gerben’s good cooking, and snuggles from your kitties.
Ooh I hate loose ends as well! It is nice to head into the weekends without too much stuff on my plate! I absolutely love the way you look in those cropped jeans! I know you would only wear them for cycling, but they really look fabulous on you! And I am glad that you kept that amazing dress. What a fun print!
