You may have seen this plaid dress on my blog before, but as I had to start over again, with my blog, I can’t show it anymore. Yes, you can already notice it, the hustle and bustle of making a new site is over, the anger comes up a bit. It is just outrageous how such a hosting company treats you. And it is also just blackmail by saying: we only help you if you cancel the contract cancellation. Catherine Grace O’Connell told me on Facebook that I should name the company by name. So here it is: SoHosted … thanks! And now we go over to the order of the day, the outfit.
Plaid for a Summer dress?
I thought this dress was a bit too short, but with a longer cardigan it is fine. When I bought it, it was still Summer and the dress has short sleeves. So it was to warm to wear something over the dress. And without anything over it, I don’t think it’s a success. Even without pantyhose I don’t like the plaid dress, because although the dress is not thick of fabric, I think it’s more an Autumn than a Summer dress. These boots feel like slippers, really. I had actually seen another pair of red boots, but they had a black heel and I do not like that. Gerben actually saw this pair and immediately said: these are much nicer, buy these. Oh, what a treasure that man is!
I think that Queeny heels are perfect. You still have a heel, elegant, and they are easy to walk on because it’s not too high. Queeny heels are everywhere now. Leopard print, snake print, all sort of colors and golden ones! I need the golden ones in my life! I wear a small red belt over the cardigan to give it a red accent on the waist and a big red ring. And of course red lips can not be missed.
I don’t think the dress is too short but I guess you need to be comfortable in what you wear, to own it. I love the pop of colour with the red booties!

That is true! I saw a lovely short skirt yesterday but it felt to short. And I know myself, I am not going to wear it then!
Love this look Nancy! Your dress is not too short because you have gorgeous legs and worn with a long cardigan is fab! My favourite colour shoes is red. By coincidence, I wore these colours on the weekend with red shoes. 🙂

Love the pops of red Nancy. Red goes so well with many outfits. What I also love is Gerben’s reaction…so cool to have someone think along fashion wise too! Have a great week. Love, Lieske

I don’t mind wearing shorter skirts – my rule is as the skirt gets shorter my tights get thicker! So fab that your husband gets into your fashion :O) xx Maria

This look amazing together Nancy. I almost like my shorter dresses with tights and boots in the winter. Especially my OTK boots.

I can well understand your anger and frustration. I know I’d be devastated if I were to “lose” my blog, all the hard work I’d put into it and all the memories and lovely comments. So sad! As for your plaid dress, I do feel it’s an Autumn/Winter dress in spite of its short sleeves. It’s a perfect dress for layering and wearing with opaques and boots. Love the pops of red! xxx

Yes, I feel pretty sad about it, but alas, that’s life. Thank s Ann!
Oh, oh I love it!! I’m also wearing very similar today, but have no photos! I’ll have to recreate for a future blog. Jacqui Mummabstylish

Looking amazing as always Nancy! I love how you styled this with the pops of red. SO sorry to hear about the hosting company. Wretched. And thank you for naming them….there are a lot of bad poor companies out there and I always appreciate the heads up.

I’ve never heard the term “Queeny heels”?? They look sort of like a slightly taller kitten heel, but that same shape, coming down to a little point. Either way, the red boots are gorgeous…and gorgeous on you with your amazing legs. I also love the black plaid dress, with or without the black cardigan. I don’t even mind shorter dresses on me if I have tights on underneath. Opaque tights are PRACTICALLY like leggings, and even a SHORT dress is going to cover the lady bits, so…it’s all good in the hood. And yes, Gerben is Da Man!
Sorry you’re still aggravated by your blog host, grrr they’re annoying. I know I need to go back and save EVERY POST since the beginning, as a word doc, cuz I’ve just written them directly in wordpress so if my site is ever lost, it’s all lost! The nightmare of that possibility boggles the mind. I would be heartbroken…as I know you know. So yeah, that’s high on the list. Maybe Santa will bring me an administrative assistant for Christmas. Wouldn’t THAT be lovely??

Haha, it would! But I am sorry dear, I think Santa is out of assistants! All bloggers wanted one!
I can see what you mean about the dress – I have had dresses like that. They just fight you and annoy you.
I adore the red booties – they look fabulous on you! Belt + lippy too? Perfect.

Thanks! The booties are fantastic! Have a great weekend love!
