Yes indeed! A brand new series all about pre loved fashion, and starting with pre loved shoes!
Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features pre loved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling pre loved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand!
Pre loved shoes, it all started with shoes!
I actually bought these boots especially for the kick of of The Thrifty Six! Because I didn’t have any pre loved shoes. I was a bit afraid of wearing them, but these are never worn so that is a bit comforting idea. Haha, yes I am a daredevil!
I am actually wearing a pre loved wrap dress and blazer too! These are from Tamaris, my favorite shoe brand. And they are real sitting shoes! And having that said, the circle is round as these series are the third that Shelbee and I host together, and we started of with sitting shoes three years ago!
I am exited to have fun with pre loved fashion with these fabulous women. I think they all have such a unique style and are very creative. These women are inspiring. And we certainly hope you get inspired to shop pre loved too, or at least give it a try!
Let’s start with The Thrifty Six!
Emma of Style Splash
I bought these shoes in a charity shop for just £1! They’re really good quality and super comfortable. I’m guessing they were quite expensive new so I got a real bargain!
Grace of Graceful Rags
While I’ve never purchased a pair of shoes at an actual thrift store, I do have quite the collection of hand-me-down pairs—which is just another form of thrifting! I was so excited when a good family friend decided to give me these brown peep-toe wedges on a whim. They are the perfect transitional shoe as we start to enter fall!

Cinderella’s Diamond Slippers…
I found these beautiful gold and diamond party shoes on eBay and it was love at first sight!
A while back, I wore them for a really glitzy night out and I felt like a princess…
I stayed at my friend’s house but the next day I had to work and in my rush to get ready, I left one shoe behind.
I was devastated when I realized it was missing but all was not lost…
My friend’s brother (who I fancied like mad) drove all the way to my house to return the shoe.
And guess what – he asked me out on a date!
We had a few dates but sadly he wasn’t my prince charming – good Cinderella story though eh!
Everything I’m wearing is second hand from the following brands:
Hero Shoes – Next (Y2K Vintage)
Dress – Global Paris (True 60’s Vintage Piece)
Bag – Unbranded
Earrings – eBay (Vintage)
Glasses – Vivienne Westwood
Lucy of Confessions of a Montreal Styling Diva
Bling is my thing. So when I saw these cute (brand new for $7!) Aldo mule booties at my local charity store Nova, I just had to get them!
And then I remembered having a little silver gem of a dress in almost the same shimmer! The dress is vintage late 60’s and super cute. This glitter girl is super thrilled with the combo.
Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
I recently found these adorable combat boots at my local Salvation Army Thrift Store. They were $5.99. The brand is Vito Rossi which is an Italian men’s shoe line.
But they were my size, the price was right, and they are so darn cute, I couldn’t resist. Other thrifted items in this outfit are my white denim skirt and my snakeskin bag.
Please visit all my lovely friends to see more of their gorgeous outfits and to get to know them better! We will be back next month with another pre loved theme!
Would really appreciate it if you would share my photos on Pinterest.
I would love it if you could follow me on Instagram!
What great finds. I especially love the Cinderella shoes and the soft gray peep toe booties. I have never bought thrifted shoes but have had a number of hand-me-down pairs, too. Off to peruse the websites of my favorite local thrift stores for shoes.

I will visit all your posts in a while! I am so curious, love this series already!
Yay, Nancy! I am so excited to begin another collaborative journey with you! I look forward to seeing where this one heads! I love these preloved booties you found. So cute. On my recent thrift shop excursion, I found 4 pairs of shoes for myself, two of them were brand new with the tags still on! I haven’t worn them yet, but I will. I love your dress and blazer combination, too! The Swiss dots are so great on your dress! Have a wonderful week, my friend!

Thanks Mireille! Hope to shop some good pre loved items too in lovely second hand shops too!
I love what you found!! These are so good! You styled this whole preloved look fabulously- looking so chic my friend! And I’m so with you about preloved shoes…I’m picky picky!! It’s not as easy as with dresses or other pieces that are easily laundered. So when you find a pair that’s brand new it’s a win-win situation. Love your post!

Indeed! If they were worn I wouldn’t have bought them I think. Thanks Lucy!
I love Tamaris shoes and I often find pre-loved pairs. Well done on getting over that hurdle. Such a daredevil indeed 🙂 I love it that your dress and blazer are pre-loved too. xxx

Well I don’t think I will buy pre loved shoes again, but then again I just might! Lol!
Thrifting is king. I got my clutch for 3 euros. I believe it will get even more important in the future.
Remember when you said you were not that much into pre-loved and we talked about it.

Haha, yes and look at me now! I love it now!
What a great idea for a post! I do love thrifting 🙂 I never seem to have any luck finding shoes in my size though, but one day maybe!
Hope your week is off to a good start! It’s a warm one here, feels more like summer than spring!
Author
Oh I wish it was spring again over here! It’s going to be so cold in the weekend!
I’ve been lucky with many good thrift and consignment finds on shoes, including a pair of Tod’s sandals that retailed for over $900 (sold in the thrift for $34.99). I’ve also gotten both pairs of my Doc Martens boots in consignment stores for less than a third of retail.

I think when I find a pair of Chanel’s, I wouldn’t be so picky! Lol.
I love that you had to go shopping for the theme Nancy!! I have quite a few preloved shoes, but not as many as my other items.
XOXO

Love your shoes, Nancy! And I think it’s super fun you went out and bought them specifically for this collaboration. 🙂 I imagine I’ll have to do some thrifting in the near future, too! Hope your week is going well!
