If you follow Lucy, then you know bold coloured sets are her style! And we are very happy that she is joining us again this month and choose the theme! So if you are in love with bold colours, then stay tuned! And we show our themes in pre loved clothing! Give it a try if you still haven’t!
Welcome to The Thrifty Six. We are a group of international fashion influencers who meet once a month in our little space on the internet to share our thrifty outfits. On the third Monday of every month, we will all share an outfit based on a theme that features pre loved wardrobe pieces. Shopping and reselling pre loved clothing is so much better for the environment and you can find some of the best fashions in thrift or charity shops. The Thrifty Six are here to inspire you to shop second hand.
My bold coloured set.
I could not find a monochrome bold coloured set ( we were not allowed to choose black or white) in my media library and also could not create one from my closet. It appeared that most of my pre loved clothing have prints! But these are very bold colours aren’t they? The skirt is the pre loved item. It’s from the shop that I used to work for and doesn’t exist anymore. But I buy a lot of my pre loved clothing by this brand, Steps, because the quality is very good and the sizing too.
The blazer and the skirt are already sold. I don’t wear a lot of bold colours as it is just not me. But my lovely fashion friends do and it’s a joy to see their beautiful outfits. So let’s take a look at them and maybe we can inspire you to buy pre loved clothing!
It’s colours you see!

Is this a tangerine dream?…
…or is it more like manic mandarin!?!
I’m calling it sun-kissed satsuma – a whole eyeful of orange!
I love a 90’s classic suit and this one is a genuine vintage piece.
It’s far from high-end but what it lacks in class, it definitely makes up for in colour!
Grace of Graceful Rags
I really struggled to find something for this month’s collab, scouring every nearby charity shop not once, but twice! I never consider a dress/jumpsuit as monochrome, since it’s just one piece, but pairing this fun onesie with these secondhand orange wedges was the best I could do. Both the shoes and oversized jumpsuit are out of my comfort zone, but I love how this springy look came together!

Wasn’t this such a cheerful theme. It is true that bold colours do make you happy! Are you getting some inspiration to shop some pre loved clothing too? Just give it a try and you will see that you can find such treasures!
Oh, I just love this outfit on you Nancy. I swear you shine in such a bright color.
Really? I think it doesn’t look good at all! But thanks!
Love monochrome looks and these are some fab inspirations! Your skirt is lovely!
Nancy, this bright pink is so pretty on you! And that skirt just screams Nancy! I love this whole outfit but if the bright is too bright for you, my friend, then I guess it doesn’t make sense to keep it in your closet taking up space!
THis was definitely not a outfit for me, although I loved all the pieces.
Yes to these bold colors1 That blazer is so fabulous and can be worn with so many things
Indeed, I have worn this blazer a lot. But at some point it bored me.
I’m loving all these bold coloured monochrome looks. Very cheerful and just perfect for this time of year too.
I might have mentioned before that I’m loving that floral skirt of yours very much indeed. It wouldn’t go amiss in my wardrobe 🙂 xxx
What a pitty that I sold it last year or so!
I think you look fabulous in that brighter color, Nancy. But, if you don’t feel good in it, you shouldn’t wear it, right? This was a fun challenge for all of you. I would have certainly failed!!
Haha, thanks Marsha!
I think you look great in this outfit! But I totally understand not wanting to wear clothes that don’t feel like they are right for you.
No, I do love colours just not on me.
I love bright and bold colors and your outfit is beautiful! XO
This is a lovely outfit, Nancy! And perfect for Spring. I know you don’t feel comfortable in brights, but you look fabulous in this.
Thaks Michelle, indeed, I love to wear the darker colours better!
I would probably have a hard time finding a monochromatic look in my closet for on top and bottom if neutrals weren’t allowed! You pulled this off well, though! I love the bold pinks on top and they go so nicely with that adorable skirt!
And it has to be pre loved too! Thanks Carrie!
I love your beautiful outfit! That bright pink blazer is gorgeous!
