I really do. It is so childish to wear funny clothing as a adult. I will get back to that later. Is it just me or did I really wear so much dark colours this summer? I think it’s because I know much better which colours I can and cannot wear, thanks to Pamela. To be honest, black doesn’t seem to be the perfect color for me either, but I can make it work for me. And I like to do that. I prefer to wear black without another color. Occasionally I wear it with white. But I do like brown with black. A warm cognac color for example, a bit like the funny tee I’m wearing here.
Get those funny clothing out of my sight
I don’t like funny clothing! You know, socks with disney characters etc. Please, leave that to kids. So when I ordered this tee I thought it had flowers printed on it. And they turned out to be floating cats. Funny right! (they all float….) Yeah, funny, but I don’t like that. At least not on my clothing. But because they are cats, I actually think it’s a nice tee, but mainly because of the color. Of course I have to say that if you wear funny clothing it’s perfectly fine, every one should wear what they want, but I bloody dislike it, lol.
Do you like, and wear, funny clothing?
This is a perfect outfit for a cooler summer day. The skirt is very thin so it doesn’t give much heat, but the ankle boots do. And if you don’t have cold feet, the rest is also warm often. I always have cold feet, so irritating. The blazer is quite old, pre loved, but I still like it. I could do with a more modern cut, but this one will do for a while. Also because it has a perfect length for me and it is tailored. The belt is therefore not really necessary, but it does give something extra. Added some golden accessories and I am ready for the day! With my funny tee…..
I would really appreciate it if you would follow me on Instagram.

I don’t like funny slogans or graphics either, anything cute or Disney. You’re right, leave it to kids! I love the belted blazer look and your tee shirt manages to escape cutesy for me! Have a good weekend.

I am glad you agree with me! Thanks Gail!
Haha I agree with you, I have one blouse with tiny dogs on which I thought was just a small pattern, for some reason I just can’t wear it. Thank you for mentioning me today, black is so good for you against the brilliant Autumn colors, a perfect foil! Have a good weekend.

It’s for kids right? Thanks Laurie!
I thought those were flowers initially, too! I know what you mean about funny clothing but it is a cute tee! Love the color and how you put this outfit together! Have a great weekend!

I do not really like to wear funny clothing but I do love this cute tee with the cats! I don’t notice the cats at all when you styled it with this chic blazer and skirt. Thanks so much for the link up Nancy!

I thought it were flowers at first! Lol. Have a good weekend Kathrine!
Oh yes, totally agree with you, funny characters, funny words, absolutely not! But I do have a black t-shirt that says Woman Up, which I rather like!
You are so cool wearing your black colours – and I love the belted jacket. Have a lovely weekend 🙂

Glad you agree with me! Have a great weekend Penny!
Oh gosh – maybe it’s an Australian thing but I love funny clothing. I don’t take myself too seriously and the way I look at it I’m after all the laughs I can get! I find it works as a good conversation starter and can often lift a dull day but of course, each to their own! Have a great weekend, Nancy!

You are right about all that. And I don’t take myself to seriously either, soon there will be a blooper post again on my blog, lol. Thanks Donna!
Oh dear…. I’ve just read everyone else’s comments and it seems I’m the odd one out! I love funny clothing!! I guess I’m still a big kid, lol! As for your tee, I think it’s great fun, very cute. But you’re right, it could easily have been mistaken for flowers, Nancy!
Big hugs

I’m not sure why people where clothes like that. Kind of reminds me off when Kate Spade made bags with different themes it looks silly and not stylish. Personally not a fan of hers at all. I prefer classic styles that never go out off fashion and the only graphic I’m attracted to is graphic tees with bands on it with a pair of jeans and a biker jacket. Loved this post and your outfit photos. https://www.bauchlefashion.com

Thank you very much Heather. We do band tees as a theme next month!
I can see why you thought those cats were flowers. And I bet most people would think the same. Cat flowers? In any case, this is fabulous outfit, Nancy, and the tee- shirt looks really good with your black outfit. It’s a great color, and I do like the cat flowers.
As for me, I do enjoy a few pieces of funny clothing for casual wear (mostly for home), although I don’t have a lot of it.

I like your outfit, Nancy. The top is a great fall color, whether decorated with cats or flowers! I enjoy a bit of whimsy, and anything to brighten the spirit is o.k. with me. Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for the link up party!

Thank you very much Di and have a great weekend yourself!
OMG, I just love that tee, yet I bet no one realizes it’s floating cats.
I would never have liked funny clothing years ago when I was working, my I’ve definitely evolved to embracing the kid inside of me, LOL!!!

I certainly don’t like a costumy look but having an unexpected bit of fun in my outfit is a nice twist every once in a while. I think that your top is one of those quirky pieces that can brighten your outlook on the day. And thank you for selecting my post as your favorite from last week’s link-up.

Haha, you are right about that Tina!
I would call your tee whimsical: I also thought it was flowers until you pointed out that they were cats and while I don’t like clothes with characters (I much prefer words or a skyline or flowers) I would definitely wear this one.

I enjoy whimsical elements in my outfit but it’s definitely not for everyone! The most important thing is to know what you like (or dislike!).

Indeed Sally and to each their own!
I love the addition of the belt! It looks very chic! I don’t typically go for that sort of thing either but the cats are very cute hehe!

No I can’t see you in funny clothing either! Thanks Lizzie!
I’m totally with you on “funny clothes”, although I’d gladly make an exception for your cat tee, which I rather like. As remarked by some of the other commentors, I’d call it whimsical rather than funny or twee. And its colour suits your otherwise black outfit perfectly! xxx
Author
Thanks Ann, I did buy it for the colour!
I’m with you Nancy – no funny clothing for me either but I’m fine with it on others. That said I think you pulled off the floating cats very well!

I have to agree with you-the only time I wore a tee with a character was when I was at Disney with my children. And even then it was pretty toned down. But to each their own! I never would have guessed this tee was floating cats! It is a great color though!
Author
That it is! Funny that you say floating cats, because when we took these photos I said to Gerben the hole time: They all float!( It)
That is a cute tee; I’m not usually one for funny clothing either (at least not on me). I think whimsical prints do suit some adults though and the put a smile on my face.

Thanks Joanne!
I’m with you—I don’t like anything too cutesy, although I will occasionally wear a statement shirt (I have a sweatshirt that says BASIC on it, and it always makes me laugh). That said, I don’t think I would have even noticed the cats without the closeup. It almost looks like a flower from afar!

I thought it was a flower when I bought it. But I love cats, so it’s okay!
Funny shirt, and funny circumstance! Looks cute though!

Thanks Alexandra!
I didn’t think you were wearing cats until the close up! I wouldn’t have guessed it was that either. I doubt I’d wear any Disney anymore. I always liked Winnie the Pooh and have a denim shirt with the characters embroidered on it from my teaching days. But, I do like a good graphic tee and wear them with just about anything! Thanks for the link party!

If its any consolation, I would never have looked close enough to notice those are cats!
For some reason this reminded me of a funny video on YouTube by Rhett and Link called “slamazon” where they try to re-live people’s reviews on amazon products. One of them I think was a shirt with a big animal on it… I think you’d love it given that you don’t like silly clothes!
Author
I will try to think of looking that up! Thanks.
Hi Nancy,
Well, I like floating cats and they suit your black outfit imho👍
Thanks for hosting this parties and for popping up in my humble place🙏

Ha. That is a funny tee! It’s really cute though. I like cats and cute animal motifs on my clothing. As for the silly factor on clothes, I was never a fan either. Until I had kids! Now I will go all out funny with my clothing if it will get a chuckle or a smile from a kid! I really like this combination of rust and black and since the cats really do look like a flower from a distance, your outfit is not at all funny but rather it is a very sophisticated Nancy look! Well done, my friend.

Thanks so much for the link-party, Nancy!
I love your belted blazer – that’s always a look I’ve liked, regardless of whether it’s in style or not! Thank you for your request for the Pink Boss Lady Pants – I’ll be styling them up for you (with no black or grey!).
Author
Oh thanks Sheila! That’s appreciated. Looking forward to see how you styled them!
I have a few shirts with cute coffee sayings on them, but that is it! Ha, ha! I love the belted blazer and the pop of fall color from your top underneath.

Oh yes ,it annoys the hell out of me! Especially pyjamas and night wear. Why do they have to have teddies/cats/penguins/deer etc all over them? It’s infantilising women.
I would not have known those were cats on your tee shirt if you hadn’t said. They looked like flowers – fab outfit and you look very elegant in it.
Author
Oh yes indeed nightwear!! Awfull! Thank you very much.
